Charles Haddon greeted us and made the whole buying experience one of the best I've had. Love the fact I didn't get the full court press from the prototypical car salesman. Charles was very professional and gave me his undivided attention with any questions I had. Never applied any undo pressure and let me take my time making a decision. I visited multiple dealerships before meeting Alan at the Stohlman VW dealership to buy my first new car. I can honestly say that Alan was by far the best sales consultant I could've asked for to make for such an exceptional experience. Alan was friendly, kind, straight-forward, and had a witty humor that made me feel as comfortable as possible buying my first car. I felt as if Alan genuinely wanted to match me with the perfect car rather than to just make a sale (of which I had felt at other dealerships). He took the time to explain everything thoroughly including walking me through how my first car servicing would work. Everyone that I met at the dealership was friendly and gave off the same kindhearted vibe. I am beyond satisfied with my experience and highly recommend anyone purchasing a new car to use Alan!

On Thursday, July 14th, a careless driver ran a red light and totaled my beloved VW Golf. Mercifully, no one was injured, but I still had the daunting challenge of finding a new car in a very short period of time. I really wanted another Golf and I had some very specific preferences, including manual transmission and a black exterior. I searched and searched, but to no avail. Then like magic, I found Alan Soon at Stohlman VW in Vienna, Virginia. I told Alan what I wanted, and he spent an entire day calling every VW dealership in the country to find it for me He was unbelievably helpful, kind, patient, funny, reassuring, and most of all, HONEST. Within 3 days, I had exactly the car I wanted, and at a phenomenally good price, too! I have never had such a positive experience with a car dealership or a salesman in the 40 years Ive been driving. I would very highly recommend Stohlman VW and Alan Soon to anyone who needs or wants a positive experience in purchasing a new car.

I walked in with my friend to just look at cars, nothing really decided. Mr. Charles Haddon, reached out to us immediately, listened to us and showed us the inventory he had in hand. It was a relaxed, confident and so far away from pushy it was totally refreshing. I ended up getting a fantastic deal on a beautiful fully loaded Tiguan white gold color with all the bells and whistles. I sincerely appreciate Mr. Haddon's time, experience and approach that day. I was looking for a Subaru Legacy and called the dealership where I purchased my Forester. The salesperson I worked with was fabulous, Chris La Porte. I saw a car I'd been looking for pop up on my e-mail from cars.com. I contacted the dealership and made an appt for a few days later. On the day I was supposed to visit the dealership, the salesman I'd been corresponding with e-mailed me that the car was no longer available and asked if I'd still like to come in and see what other cars they had. Since I was only looking for one particular used car and they didn't have another one, I declined. Then, the next afternoon, he e-mailed me that the financing had fallen through for the car I was interested in and it was back up for sale. I knew what I needed to get for my trade-in, I knew the monthly payments I could afford, and I knew what a fair price on the vehicle was since I'd been shopping. around for a few months and knew what others were paying for this car. I was in and out --- with a "new" used car in less than 2 hours, with all my needs met. Everyone was courteous and helpful. I would recommend this dealership. They are small (the one in Herndon) and very attentive and fair.

I contacted this dealership to inquire about a posting I'd seen online (for a trade-in they'd just received -- I saw the post b/f the listing was complete). The response was swift, and the salesperson clearly wanted to be responsive and give me a positive experience that would lead to a sale. We had several interactions, including him taking photos, since they were not yet available online. Unfortunately the posting had gone online before the vehicle had been cleared by the technician, where major engine problems were discovered. I'm glad I took the time on the phone to get this sorted out before making a 2-hr round trip from Baltimore to test drive the car. I didn't make a purchase from this dealership, but on the whole my interactions left me with a mostly positive impression of their customer service, at least when trying to make a sale. I'm very, very pleased that they notified me that my intended car was a lemon, rather than waiting until I arrived on site and trying to upsell me into a different car.

I've been a Stohlman customer for 15 years and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a new VW. Having purchased and owned a 1999 Passat and a 2009 Jetta Wolfsburg over the years, Stohlman's buying process has been very smooth compared to other vehicles I have purchased for my family. It's their service department that shines though- consistently a great pool of service manager who'll take care of you and your vehicle (and let's face it, if you buy a VW, it will need to come in from time to time), and any snafus have been managed from the top with great care. This is a dealership that really cares about their reputation and name and work hard to maintain it. I would also recommend that you purchase the VW extended warranties as that would give the piece of mind and is worth every penny over the life of the warranty.

We purchased a brand new Outback one day after we moved back to the US from overseas. We had been in contact with Randall Tomblin via email, who went out of his way to ensure that the exact car we wanted was ready for our arrival. We would have preferred to buy from a dealer closer to our home, but Randall's service alone was enough to justify the extra distance. We used our bank's buying service, and were amazed at the price difference-- Stohlman undercut the next best offer by more than 1500 dollars. We would buy another vehicle from Randall any day- he's a true professional who ensures his customers get what they want. Super guy in a super dealership.

I was deciding between roughly 6 different makes and 10-12 different models. I recommend this dealership especially if you ask for and deal with Hoang Nguyen. He is an absolute super start. He is the complete OPPOSITE of what you would expect to see from a car dealership's sales staff. He's not pushy, doesn't give you attitude when you say you're just "looking", doesn't give you attitude to harrase you with emails or phone calls even after you test drive a couple of cars and leave to try other cars! First time I talked to him, he didn't even ask for my phone or email and just sat down with me and did all the numbers I was asking for, showed me what my payment would be, how much I needed to put down, and gave me all the calculations to go home with (as odd as it may sound, sales guys refuse to give you the paper they doodle on and write the numbers and calculations on ... as if they don't want to be held to those if you come back later, but not here!) Hoang even encouraged me to compare their prices with other dealerships and if I decided to come back but have found something cheaper, to let him know for a price match.

Worked with Javan Jackson at VW. Worked out a price over email and was pleased to see that the car was up front, detailed and ready for me when I walked in. The price he quoted was honored and there wasn't any hard up-selling. He spent time with my wife on all the specifics of the car, paired her phone to the NAV/Bluetooth and away we were. Couldn't be happier with my car-buying experience at Stohlmans. My 13-year-old car (another make) was costing me too much in repairs. I'd researched Subarus among other cars and had decided the Impreza fit my needs and budget. But I dreaded the actual purchase experience fearing the "pressure" from sales person. Stephan Stagbo who sold me the car was not pushy, answered all my questions professionally, and made the buying experience comfortable, efficient, and unstressful. Also the business manager, Hue Beasley, was patient, organized, and helpful when it came to my financing questions and needs. The new buyer clinic was useful in introducing me to technicians and ensuring me my car would be serviced well and at a reasonable price by a dealership. This was my first time buying a car and I had expected the stereotypical "car salesman in your face" experience (which is what I got at Ford). Subaru was not at all like that. My salesman, David, couldn't have been further from what you would think a typical car salesman would be like. He wasn't pushy at all; he was helpful, and most of all very transparent and up front about the cars, prices, and did everything he could to make the selling process relaxing. If you're in the market for a car and are looking at Subarus, I would recommend swinging by.

Overview: Traded my 2011 Camry XLE V6 and bought the 13 Passat V6 loaded. The salesman (Erik) was knowledgeable, friendly and knew right away what I wanted - and they had it on the lot. In and out in an hour and a half - and very happy. Dealership: Best inventory I have seen. Searched on-line for the car I wanted and only found it at Stohlman's. This is the second time - as I bought a 2012 Touareg last year with similar results. They are king when it comes to finding the right car. Price: They gave me a fair price on my trade-in, found some incentives I wasn't aware of, adjusted everything to fit my needs (lower price) and financed through VW at 0% - Can't beat that with a stick. Salesman: Erik Nyhuis was excellent - not pushy, just informative. Able to give me a rough cost estimate upfront that wasnt an insult - very reasonable - which allowed me to move forward with confidence. Same as with Tom (now sales manager I think) when I bought the Touareg last year. VW vs Toyota: Drive - no comparison, very tight handling and pretty quiet; Features - Same but smarter; Comfort - the sport seats are great.

Bought my first VW last week at Stohlman's VW in Vienna, VA. Received first class service from Erik there. He spent hours with me test driving all the models with great patience. I never felt real pressured even though I know he was trying to close the deal. He dealt with me straight up and honest. In August I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Volkswagen from ANOTHER dealer. Soon after purchasing the vehicle, I experienced problems with the disc brakes and brought the vehicle into Stohlman Automotive to diagnose the problem. My service advisor informed me that the front and rear disc brakes needed to be replaced.I was extremely concerned that the problem arose so soon after purchasing the CPO vehicle, as the brake problem should have been fixed before the vehicle was sold to me by this other dealership. The repair was not covered by the VW CPO warranty, so I contacted VW of America Customer Service to lodge a complaint.The total price of the repairs as quoted by Stohlman was nearly $1,100. VW of America agreed to provide me with a $500 credit towards the repair. After then speaking with Stohlman Service Manager Joe Lishman, he understood my problem and promised to speak with VW of America and take care of the situation for me.Despite the fact that Stohlman was not in any way responsible for the initial problem, Joe worked with VW of America and ultimately directed his team to install new front and rear brake pads and rotors on my vehicle AT NO COST TO ME.Stohlman Automotive went above and beyond my expectations in resolving a problem that was caused by another dealership in the first place. I am very pleased with the service provided by Stohlman and would not hesitate to use or recommend them in the future.

I was shopping around for a new Impreza Sport and and after being unable to find a 2012 that had the options I wanted and not the ones that I didn't, I stopped at the dealership in Herndon to order a 2013 Impreza Sport. Mark helped me select all of the options that I would want and explained how they would effect the pricing. Mark kept me up to date with the status of the car as it was being built and shipped over. Yes, Scott provided us outstanding service and support concerning the controls on our new car.Scott provided just the right amount of time to where the experience was enjoyable and educational on VW vehicles.Scott knew all the answers to our questions regarding all features we asked about. Specifically the BT integration with phones and the valet options.The information and the time spent with us was very well organized and more than adequate, he did not leave anything out and made sure we had a great experience. Yes, we met and were introduced various people at the dealership and all of them were helpful and available when we needed something.Yes the clinic was mentioned to us and Scott was very thorough and excellent in the information he provided, we will be attending the clinic.Scott assisted us with a VW a few years ago and the experience was hassle free. This time Scott assisted us again and it was also hassle free and extended as an enjoyable experience. I had been dreading the purchase of another vehicle because of the way I have been treated by salesmen in the past. But after having my SUV for 8 years and almost 200,000 miles, it was time to look for something else. I was looking for a used Subaru or Volkswagen and received an immediate response from Stohlman. I must say that this was the easiest, most pleasant car buying experience I've ever had! Everyone I encountered was wonderful to work with and I could not believe that I was able to test drive the car, trade in my SUV, complete all of the paperwork and drive home with my new car all in the same night. I've bought two cars from Stohlman and have all my service work performed there, and I've always had an excellent, easy experience. They're friendly and quick, and I feel very comfortable sending all my friends and family there knowing they'll be treated well. I happen to have a lot of experience with car dealers through my job, so I know how bad it can get, and how much effort it takes to maintain such constant quality customer service, so I really appreciate it.

New car buying is one of the worst experiences a person can go through in life. I keep my cars about 10-11 years, on average. I purchased a new car from Stohlman Subaru recently and the experience was as near to painless as new car buying could be. The sales process was no pressure and the financing was nearly as easy. Of course, they sell cars that are well built and hold their value.This dealer seems to be better than most, based on my recent experience. They know their customer base, know their cars and seem confident that when it's time to buy, they will be in a position to help, which is all you can ask for from a dealer.

I bought a 2013 Outback in October from Randall at Stohlman. I did all of the price negotiation online, and he was able to beat the best price I had received (up until that point). When I showed up with my family for a test drive, he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and got us in and out quickly. This was the first car that I have bought in over ten years, and the experience was much better than it had been in the past.

Watch out for the '04 Volvo V70R that's on their web site right now. It has been towed twice! Dealer was cordial and held car for me, but dealership was deceitful. Drove from Charlotte to DC for that car. After purchase, found a tow receipt in glove box from 1 week prior. Had been towed on someone else's test drive (from Stohlman). We requested any and all service records and they said they had none. Car broke down on us in the middle of nowhere on the way home (south of Richmond). We did not keep the car. The dealer knew the AWD module was bad and that it needed a new fuel pressure sensor (which probably caused our breakdown). They did not make any of those repairs prior to my purchase and did not tell me about them. I called original dealer on carfax and shop where it had been previously towed to (by Stohlman) to find all this out. Dealership did zero work to that car to get it mechanically working.

I found a car online after not being able to find the make / model / year / color / features I had been looking for, locally. Stohlman happened to have it, so I contacted them, they took a credit car for deposit, they held it for me. I went picked it up 5 days later on a weekend. They were very polite, friendly, allowed me to test drive the exact car in case I wanted to change my mind and to be sure i didn't find a problem, allowed me to inspect it to make sure I was happy, and then assisted me in getting the best deal possible from both the manufacturer and the dealership. I didn't haggle since the price was already where I wanted it. The Salesman was extremely helpful, answering numerous emails / following up on interstate processes. I had an excellent experience, and would recommend them to others, and would buy from them again if the chance arises. I traveled 250 miles from NY to DC to get this car, and the entire trip was worth it. I got a Blue 2012 VW Tiguan S 4motion with Sunroof. Love it.

Just bought a certified Jetta that had a minor issue when I got home. I contacted the used car sales manager and he immediately jumped on it to correct the problem. The sales agent and the guys in service also. They gave me a loaner, corrected the problem. I am happy how they are treating me so far.

Recently replaced a 5 year old VW with a new one from this dealership, same model. They had serviced my old one shortly after moving here last year, and their shop guys were excellent! The buying process was straight foward, real numbers to discuss instead of a shell game, and at the end of the day, after a couple of negotiating emails, we had a deal within 10 minutes of me walking into the dealership, and a good deal at that for all of us (I don't work for free, and you shouldn't expect anyone else to either). I have no regrets with the purchase, and they'll also be the ones to service this new car as well. Tom (internet) and Scott (floor) were excellent to deal with, and will certainly keep them in mind when it comes time to replace the wife's SUV in a year or so. They recognize that they're located in Tysons Corner, a high concentration of significant buying power. Now, on the used car side of the house - they could use a little more "polish" in their technique. Granted, they're not selling $100k cars here, and the dealership is surrounded by those who do (Porsche, Aston, MB, etc), but before I decided to buy new and was just "kicking the tires" a few months ago, I wasn't exactly impressed with that side of the house. Used cars in general require a lot more involvement in negotiations, and aren't exactly pleasant to purchase in general, no matter were you buy them from however. They're nice folks, don't get me wrong. But what they initially offered for my trade was so far below what the other VW shops offered, while arguing against discussing their prices, that I realized it was going to be a tough process and decided to go home and enjoy the day with my kids, instead of waiting for their used car manager to tell the sales guy what to do and how to say it. If you're buying new - they're fantastic! If you're buying used, come well prepared.

Wanted to buy a car here, but had to drive 3.5 hours to reach the dealership. They promised to hold the car, but sold it to someone else instead. And they didn't even call to tell us what they had done. When we got there and found out what they had done, the employees were pointing fingers at each other and behaving like slimeballs right in front of us. I will never try to do business with this dealership ever again.

Bought a 2012 VW Golf R from Stohlman - specifically, Dieter Conrad. Dieter was very pleasant and professional. It was easy to come to an agreement on the value of my trade-in and the cost of the new car. Sean got the car ready and briefed me on how to do stuff - he did a great job. It was raining, so they moved both cars to a dry spot to facilitate transferring stuff to the new car - then both gents helped. Christina in Finance was also terrific. A very postive experience all the way around.

I have been to plenty of used/new car dealerships and this dealership is by far the worst. They lie about everything from the car, their selling strategy, etc. I felt that I could not trust them and therefore refrained from buying a used car there because of that reason. The salesmen were not so friendly and did not know much about the car. I was mislead for days. Not worth the stress....save you time and go somewhere trusting where they will also make you feel like a buying customer.

False advertising of "S" models of 2011 vw Jetta's. Vin# indicates it is a "Base" model, without A/c, Radio, locks, A great differnce from a "S" model. If you can not be honest in your ad's, how can you be a honest dealer? And this is not just one ad, but multiple. Do you not proof read your ads?
