The car I bought is a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis. A bit on the high side considering the age but should have been the car I wanted for long trips. On the way home the seat belt chimes started and there was a light for the air bag not showing . Talked to Gene about it and we finally agreed that i would take the car to my local Ford dealer. I was told they would do a circuit trace then a couple days later Ford fixed the problems for over $800. there was some grumbling about the price but the dealer finally sent me a check for half the amount I paid. They finally made good on our agreement. gene played a part in this that helped me a lot.

My wife and I stopped by the sales event in Palm Coast Fl. I said what we were interested in, and the salesman Gene pulled around while we were still looking at other vehichles, in the cleanest used suv I've ever seen. Super low miles. Gene not only brought to us the type of vehicle we requested!!!!,,, but His loan manager slashed prices like they had a 2 edge sword!!! I left with the vehicle my wife wanted in just a few hrs!!!!! Incredible service!!!!! These folks made my wife happy!!!! And what We all know as Men,,,,,HAPPY WIFE,HAPPY LIFE!!!!!!! Thank you Gene McMahon and The Ritchey caddilac, buick, gmc, subaru Team. Nice guys, fast quality service.

My Daughter Grace and my wife had been looking at cars for several days and had narrowed it down to about 4 cars. That's when Dee (my wife) asked if I could go with Grace to find the "best" car for her years ahead in high school and college. We got a late start on Saturday and went to several dealerships at the Auto Mall. We arrived at the dealer that had the car that my daughter liked to most around 10 minutes past their closing time. We were happy to see that the salesperson that my wife and Grace had spoken with and driven the vehicle with the day before was still on on the sales room floor. She seemed in a big hurry and asked if we could come back the next day. We were wondering if our deodorant had worn off, because we didn't feel welcome.Grace and I decided to drive over to Nova Road and check out the dealerships there. We browsed several lots and when we stopped at the Ritchey used car lot, found that they were closing as well. We were greeted with a great big smile from Gene McMahon, who immediately made us feel at home even though they were closing. He walked us thru the entire lot like he had all the time in the world. He told us about his daughter and his family and inquired into our family. He listened to what Grace wanted in a car. He is very personable and very knowledgeable about the various automobiles that we inquired about. All of a sudden in front of us was "The One".We set a time to come back the next day to test drive the vehicle. When we arrived, Gene had the license plate and keys in hand like he had been waiting all day for us to arrive. We drove it and loved it. For Grace it was the perfect fit. I discovered the Subaru Legacy is one of the safest cars in the world. So you can imagine how happy I was that Grace wanted "The One" over the other less safe models that we had looked at. We felt in very good hands thru the entire buying process and found it to be handled very professionally. Once we agreed upon a price, Peter handled the paperwork and was very professional and informative on the various warranty options available to us to add value to the car in the years ahead. By the time we finished our business with Peter, Gene had the car detailed and cleaned up so we could drive it home. What a great experience that we had in finding and working with Gene McMahan! He is a valuable representative of the Ritchey team and is a goodwill ambassador. Thank Gene, you made buying a car a pleasure. David Remey

I just moved to Redford MI, from Ormond Beach FL and got into a care accident that totaled my car. when shopping around a friend from home suggested I check here when I come down to visit. I called and spoke with Dan Mcmahon and he helped me Pick my new 2016 Impreza getting everything set up with his finance manager Pete Crommitts before I arrived. The Service was awesome. They had it all ready for me when I got there. Loved the drive back.

Daytona Subaru had to have my car towed to a different Subaru dealer to fix it.This was a ten day process overall.This is a 2014 Forester with 8K miles. It ran fine until we took it in for a recall issued by Subaru.The second Subaru dealer informed us that the Recall WAS NOT performed by Daytona Beach Subaru.Subaru of Daytona had guaranteed they had - I have an invoice from them proving it.The process was not followed as the spark plugs were not marked as required by the process outlined by Subaru.More importantly the firmware WAS NOT updated as the old CID # was in the EEPROM.They also indicated it was necessary to re-gap the spark plugs.They stated that it was impossible for the firmware to have been updated and still reflect the old CID #.It was also very interesting to note that the battery HAD NOT been disconnected as it had been when Daytona Subaru broke my car.From all appearances the Daytona Subaru kept the car for three days and merely unhooked the battery to clear the ECM while charging Subaru to perform the multiple hour recall.This is the worst automotive experience I have ever encountered.I am still at a loss as to how they kept my car for 3 days - didn't perform the recall and somehow caused it to run horribly - no one at Daytona Subaru has an answer.

visited dealership and looked at camaro convertible. Salesperson Joan was working deal when she asked what would I give. I explained that I would give 3000 total and pay taxes in my state' She went to manager Joe and came out the door and stated to me and my wife to come in write up the deal. My wife had reservations so I told Joan that I liked the deal but give me some time to think about it. I went back 2 days later ready to pay for the car and have it shipped back to my state. Joan and Joe said they could not sell the car to me at that price because they had not checked on what they had in it. They made a price but would not honor what they had quoted to me and my wife. When a dealer does not honor their word , they cannot be trusted.

I stopped at the dealership, used car division where I met Joan. The car that cauaght my eye was the BMW.. The test ride may have Joan a little jazzed, I dont break on curves while driving a Beamer. Bottom line was workable, Joe was awesome, the money man, Peter, was a lot of fun. I bought the car. The promises were met, and picked up my car looking very beautifully detailed. Joan was fun to work with, very knowledgable about her inventory. Our "loaner car " was way to much fun and a good experience for , hopefully, all of us involved. Thanks to Joan and Joe. We were recently traveling from NC to Cocoa Beach, FL when the dreaded Check Engine, etc displayed on the instrument panel just North of Daytona. The service staff handled our problem with a 2012 Outback quickly, expertly and courteously. I can not say anything negative about our experience with this service department. Kudos!!

If you've EVER bought a car at a dealership of some kind, you would tend to know how "pushy" that salesman or sales manager is about buying their car. Subaru of daytona is OPPOSITE! I knew I wanted to buy a wrx but it wasn't on the top of my list. After driving it, it went to the top, but i still wanted to sleep on it over night due to my visits to nissan, ford, mazda, and VW. I was impressed, but not sold on it just yet. I spend about 15 more minutes with my salesperson and explained what makes a subaru a subaru. After sitting at his desk and telling him, "I'm not purchasing today" he said "okay, cool. Not a problem" His demeanor did not change.. I was shocked he didn't just kick me out! I came back with my buddy to help me negotiate and see if i can get the lowest possible. (He didn't help at all) As I proceeded to walk into the dealership, my salesperson came outside and greeted me with comforting hand shake and 2 bottles of water (it was 98 degrees). Sat down at his office and before i could say anything he said" Thank you for coming back to see me, what were you trying to get accomplished today?" I then took a deep breath and looked at him confused but then told him i want the lowest price and i will drive home with it today. "Okay" he says. He then came back with the dealerships lowest price and said, "If this price is too high, there's nothing i can do for you." I called his bluff and got up and he shook my hand and said bye... As we shook hands, i knew he was serious, that the price he came out was the lowest because he wouldnt of let me get up. Then i said" thank you for being honest, i will take the car." Sales manager didnt even come to close me!!I understand, dealerships have to make money, but this is 2014 and there is the internet and being honest and straight forward will win.

I want to make this short and sweet. Subaru of daytona staff was by far the most understanding and easiest dealership i have ever bought a car from. I told them where i needed/wanted to be and asked them if they could do it. If not, i would completely understand.I met Bruce out in the parking lot and he was a very nice and personable young man who knows alot about cars. We found the car i wanted by not forcing things on me and took a test drive, then went to his office and i told him straight to him where i needed to be. He came back telling me that he appreciated me being upfront and giving him a reasonable offer for the new car and asking a reasonable offer for mine. With just like that, he said " you're a owner of a brand new subaru!" The whole process in his office took, 10 mins!My husband and I are both very happy with the manager and Bruce! GREAT JOB!!!

We did not have a good experience purchasing a car at this dealership. At first, the salesman was nice and let us test drive different cars. The problems started when the contract was being negotiated. We were very upset about how they tacked on a "Pre Dealery Prep Fee" and paper work filiing fees which they never disclosed to us. They claim all of the Florida dealers tack these charges on to your final contract. I guess the $750/00 fee is for washing the car - I don't know. Clearly it is to tack on extra profit to the dealers bottom line. It's a pretty expensive car wash in my book! These fees were never disclosed to us, which it should have been, according to Florida State Law. Had the dealer been upfront about the fees, we could have made an informed decision about whether we wanted to pay them or walk away. We have never paid a "Pre-Delivery" fee or paper work filing fee for any new car before and if we had been smarter and looked the final paper work over more thouroughly, we would have walked from this deal. Stupid us! We got taken by this dealer! So our supposedly good deal, (just like the Costco deal was supposed to be) ended up being a bad deal. The financing guy was terrible. (Casey) He wasn't friendly at all but offered to sell us an extended warranty. We refused and then he just wanted to rush us through the process and became ugly. He had lots of paper work but wouldn't tell us what it was until we demanded that he did. We were way too trusting and should have carefully looked over every single line item as we would have seen the "pre-delivery & Filing fees" of $749 that they tacked on to the contract at the very end of the transaction. We only heard the monthly payment and did not realize the dealership put these bogus fees into the contract without us knowing. Once again, stupid us for not checking every single line item on the contract! Their tactic is to rush you through the paper work by making you feel uncomfortable so you won't see these hidden fees. They got us - plain and simple!I called the parent Company, Ritchey Auto to complain and they agreed to write us a check for 1/2 of the amount that they charged us for the pre-delivery fee. I didn't feel like fightinig with them anymore so I decided to take their offer and move on. He told me I needed to take down my "Negative review - but I feel it is fair and if the dealer wanted a positive review, they can earn it. Just giving me partial compensation for fees they didn't disclose does not fix the overall bad sales service we experienced. We also never received the side door sticker, (Monroney sticker) or a complete listing of what equipment our car had prior to delivery. We were given a listing of options on a different car and were told that it had the same equipment that the car we were taking delivery of. Later, we found out it didn't. On the sheet we had received it stated that the car was to come with a leather shifter and cargo cover which our car does not have. I called and e-mailed to ask the salesman about this but they refused to give us the information off of the Dealerships database. I should have insisted on this before I purchased the car but I was way too trusting. Apparently all of these cars come with different optional equipment so you really can't compare one to another. So, to this day, I have no idea if the deal I got was good or not because we never got a listing of the actual equipment the car has. I contacted Subaru of America who is trying to help us here, but so far they have done nothing. The salesman told me he mailed the door sticker to me almost two weeks ago and I still don't have it. I have decided to take my car for service to the Sanford FL Subaru dealership who seems very eager for my business. In retrospect, I should have purchased the car from them in the first place through the Costco program. I hope my experience with the car will be better than the terrible purchase experience. Even so - it will be my last Subaru product. In my book how you are treated throughout the process reflects on the Companies brand - plain and simple. Update: January 2014. I left a message for the GM of Ritchey auto, Larry Kelly who oversees the Subaru Dealership in Daytona Beach which they own. I asked him if he could help me get the Monroney sticker for the car. He left me a message back and said they had the sticker in my file all along. I couldn't believe this since I had called, e-mailed, wrote complaints, etc. for over 15 days asking for this sticker. The salesman swore he mailed it to me. It was couriered over to my home. The sticker was never mailed to me, had my wrong address on it and had a postal mailing sticker of January 3rd on it. (The same day I received it) In my opinion this dealership could care less about customer service and did nothing but play games with us. They also broke multiple State and Federal Laws.

The price they offered me and value of my trade was reasonable. However the sales person I dealt with made the experience awful. I would get one story from one person and a different story from someone else. I asked multiple times for the specifics details of the deal, sales price, down payment, trade allowance, dealer fees, and interest rate/loan term....I could NEVER Get my sales person to give me all the info. I was also told that even though the car was listed as certified used that it was not and that I didn't want that warranty anyway. They kept demanding I drive 50 miles to get that info and said that they could help me better in person. If I can't get reliable information over the phone I'm not going to waste my own time and money to drive to your place of business. In the end I choose to purchase my car somewhere else because I never felt I could trust the salesperson or the information they were giving me.

Ivan 'the Terrible' is really just the opposite. When we were considering buying a Subaru Outback, we went to Subaru of Daytona. We told Ivan what we were thinking and he enthusiastically took us for a test drive and answered all our questions about the 2013 Outback including some very technical questions that my 26 years as an ASE Certified Mechanic raised for us. Our test drive was nothing short of an 'experience' in all the Subaru can do and that's more than any car in it's class as far as we're concerned. My wife even enjoyed driving through Ivan's obstacle course. We weren't prepared to purchase a car that day or we would have. After our extra car sold, nearly two months later, we went back. We found the same Ivan we found on our first visit. We bought our new Outback just the way we like it including several 'Dealer Added' extras like custom leather, a trailer hitch, all weather floor mats, Auto Butler Service and an extended warranty. All of that came at a very reasonable price and they gave us good trade in value for our 2004 Chrysler Sebring. What can I say, Subaru of Daytona is tops and Ivan is the best. Go there, buy a great car.
