I have never owned a Subaru until two days ago. I can honestly say if the car is half as great as the customer service I received at Subaru Santa Monica I will never drive anything else!I dealt with Maria Cerceda-initially through email then over the phone. I knew the cost/any out of pocket expense/trade in issues etc before I ever stepped foot on the lot. As a side note, due to a horse injury I had a hip replacement 6 months ago and was concerned about the height of the Crosstrek-she got me the specs and even offered to drive the car to me to see if I could get in and out easily!!!! Cannot tell you how shocked I was with this offer-this is not my first car and I have NEVER received such excellent customer care. Remember this is all before she and I even met!When I got there I was waiting for the "bomb" to drop-oh the manager needs more money down etc,, never happened. I was greeted by the manager Frank, who could not have been more genuine. They had most of the paperwork ready to go to keep my time there down to the minimum. He and Maria make a terrific team and every single thing I was promised I received!!! I'm still in a little shock today-I'm happy with the Crosstrek and SO pleased I reached out to Subaru Santa Monica- I felt appreciated and respected. These folks will continue to get my business and recommendations.

Had a great experience at Subaru Santa Monica and they completely sold me on a brand new Legacy! I was deciding between an Audi or a Subaru (both had excellent ratings online), so I decided to take a Subaru Legacy for a test drive. Everett was the salesman who helped me, and he was exactly what you'd want from a sales staff: he was informative, not aggressive and was always working towards finding the best fit for me as far as a car, price, and financing options. The staff is not compensated on commission, so there was never any pressure to buy. After one test drive, I was sold on the 2017 Legacy and Everett and the rest of the staff made sure that we found a plan that worked. If you are looking for a Subaru, I would highly recommend this location.

I have been a customer with Subaru Santa Monica for the duration of two 3-year leases. My previous car (an Impreza sedan 2013) turned out to be not very successful because of the depreciating value of that particular model. (For some reason, sedans are less popular than hatchbacks, as it was explained to me later.) After mere 19,000 miles, my Impreza sedan was barely valued at $10,000 USD. So when I walked into the dealership at the end of my second lease, to weigh my options, walking away was definitely one of them.And then I met Jeremie Hobley. Yes, Ive communicated my budget and needs with several customer service reps prior to my appointment, but my expectations of being heard were quite low. Jeremie, however, was a total surprise! He was well aware of what I needed. He went above and beyond to meet those needs, to test drive as many cars as I wanted and to discuss my options. Granted it took us three hours to settle on a deal, I felt that Jeremie was on my side as he negotiated my future contract with the management. He stuck by my side as I went to speak to a finance rep. Because the office was understaffed that day, Jeremie stayed with me for three more hours. He personally went over every feature and coverage in my new vehicle. Hes even educated me on my future options, if I were to remain a Subaru driver. I can honestly say Jeremies was the best customer service Ive experienced at Subaru Santa Monica in my last six years of doing business there. So much so, that Ive expressed my interest in following Jeremie to his next dealership. I certainly hope that the management recognizes the immense asset that Jeremie brings to Subaru Santa Monica and makes sure to keep him on staff. For now, I remain a faithful and very satisfied customer of Subaru!

Jeremie Hobley is the guy you want to see. He is efficient & no nonsense. I was looking for a combination of features that was hard to find and seemed out of my price range. Jeremie found exactly the car I was looking for, worked out the finances and I drove my new car off the lot in about an hour and a half. A quarter of that time was due to my own indecision on how to structure my loan payments. My options were presented to me in a chart that was easy to understand. The entire transaction was friendly with no sales guy pressure. I love my Outback and couldn't be happier with the service at Santa Monica Subaru.

Dealing with Subaru of Santa Monica and Vance Walden was a surprisingly pleasant experience. It was by far the best experience I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. There were no games or gimmicks. Everything was straightforward and to the point. Vance was extremely professional all throughout our visit. My girlfriend and I felt no pressure or anxiety unlike the vast majority of our experiences with automotive dealerships. Even the hot seat with finance was surprisingly straightforward and minimal up-selling of products was done. It was the fastest visit to a dealership that end with me driving away in a purchased vehicle. This was the first dealership that I visited shopping for this car, and the fair pricing and honest sales approach immediately won me over. I did not leave and try to cross-shop with other dealerships, and that has never happened before. Overall, it was probably the best car dealership experience I've had, and to provide some credibility to this review, this is the 7th car that I have purchased.

So, the first lease I signed (09/04/16) was approved while I was on the dealership floor and I was told specifically that it had been approved. I then received a letter from Chase Bank stating that the vehicle lease was declined because "VALUE OF VEHICLE IS INSUFFICIENT RELATIVE TO REQUESTED LOAN AMOUNT." I called in and spoke with Samantha, who said that the computer showed that I was approved and that I would need to speak to Richard, who did the deal the day I leased the car. I called Richard, my finance person, repeatedly and he gave me about three different explanations for what happened. Clearly I was not ever told the truth at any time. Ultimately, I had to come into your dealership and re-sign another lease. This was done with Arjahn. He told me that there would be absolutely no problem with this lease. On September 29, 2016, I received written notice from my insurance company that the CA DMV records do not match my submission for insurance as I am not the registered owner. I am subject to state fines and suspension of my driving privileges. In addition, as my first payment would be due October 4, 2016 and I have received nothing in terms of an account number or payment information, I called Subaru Motors Finance this morning to make inquiry. I was told that there was nothing whatsoever in their system and as far they know, I have no lease.Further, I have had no less than 4 hard credit inquiries because of all of this, which has negatively impacted my credit. Indeed, there has been a 40 point drop in 25 days. 1 inquiry from your dealership, two from Chase, and one, inexplicably from Good Son SM, LLC. (Who is that ? I have never heard of them and certainly never authorized them to access my credit report.)I have already sold the vehicle I had and have detrimentally relied on your dealership and the representations made. I have lost sleep over all of this, am very upset and have lost time from work. For example, I bill by the hour in my job and lost significant money when I came in to re-sign after waiting and waiting for Arjahn to be available, only then to hear from him that he's the one that has to clean up the messes of everyone else and that they just left my folder on his chair to deal with. Apparently, he failed to properly do so.

We were in the market for a Subaru Crosstrek, in a particular color and trim level, without a bunch of extras thrown on. Subaru Santa Monica had what I was looking for. We called them up and spoke to Maria Cerceda who was kind enough to setup an appointment for us to view the car and discuss the details. She also took the time to confirm the vehicle was still available before we made the trip from Santa Clarita. We found Maria to be extremely helpful, courteous, and knowledgable about her product and had a good sense of humor, which I feel is a plus when purchasing a car. I would not hesitate at all to recommend Subaru Santa Monica and more specifically Maria Cerceda to anyone who needs a Subie and doesn't mind having a pleasant experience while going about it. I shopped for a Forester on line and was answered by five Subaru dealerships, including Santa Monica Subaru. Three stated that they had the specified vehicle in stock. The result was that Santa Monica Subaru really did have the right vehicle, and at a very fair price. Jefferey Marcus and Seth Chadwick were my contacts and both could not have been more helpful. Chad gave a comprehensive tutorial and intelligently answered all my questions. Additional questions after I drove away were readily answered by Seth via his mobile phone.As automobile dealerships go, and I have dealt with several, Santa Monica Subaru is at the top.

Chenchen Yu breaks all notions of stereotypical car sales people. She is 100% knowledgeable and passionate about the product and she DOES NOT PUSH! She holds a firm, open position and delivers her information thoroughly and steadily. Her countenance is one of respect and she offers her expertise on subjects beyond the requirements! (Music transferring and APP introduction!) I am leery of sales people, in general, but I absolutely trust Chen's advice. I love seafood and it was like Jeremie Hobley was grilling up a big sweet fat lobster for me. He was/is quite knowledgeable in his profession. I liked him as a sales person and as a person. As usual, my recular maintenance visit for my Subaru Forester was an excellent one. There is usually on time service and always with a smile. This time Glenn Kamoshida, offered the washing service, and when he noticed that the wash not a good one, he brought the car back for a second wash. I usually go por a coffee nearby, But I would suggest to have a small nice waiting area for customers.Overall, an excellent service...and cars.

I was really impressed with the sales team at the Suburu dealership. Specifically Seth Chadwick, who I felt was one of the most personable and genuine sales people I've dealt with. He was really committed to making sure I was happy --not just with the car, but with my overall experience at that dealership. Even when things did not go according to plan, Seth made it a priority to fix any issues. For example, there was a problem with the detailing of my car, so Seth took time out of his schedule the next day to pick up my car from my house, get it re-detailed, and drop it back off. I really can't ask for better service than that. Also, my CrossTrek is AMAZING. I can't say enough good things about it.

Jose Reyes, service agent, was extremely professional & knowledgeable about my 60,000 mile maintenance on my 2011 Subaru Tribeca! He was right there to greet me (I had an appointment) & was ready for me with the necessary paperwork & proceeded to explain all to me. He was just an all around good guy who cared that the service I received there was nothing but the best! Upon my retrieval of my car, it was ready, car had been washed & again all paperwork ready for me to sign & my copies too! He went all that was done to my car & covered everything on that list! Santa Monica Subaru made my experience buying a brand new Crosstrek a really awesome experience! It was a very "low stress" experience. I had been looking at Crosstreks at other Subaru dealers, and wanted a Silver car. I contacted Veronica and Seth at the internet sales office, and they were able to give me the best price of all of the Subaru dealers. Since the car was not yet delivered, and was 'in transit", Veronica and Seth worked really hard in order to expedite the delivery of a Silver Crosstrek, so I only had to wait a few days. The customer service team, which included Chelsea, always stayed in contact with me to let me know when I can expect the car to arrive, and were really friendly and helpful. While at the dealership, Jeremie was the Salesman that I worked with, and he made the "car-buying" experience really pleasant. He was very friendly, and was very straightforward with me regarding the quoted price for the car, and he was able to give me a very fair price for my "trade-in". Everybody at the dealership was very friendly, and I never felt the pressure involved with buying a new car. I felt as though Jeremie wanted to provide the best experience possible for me in buying my new car.The financial associate named Rich also was very friendly and knowledgeble, and informed me of all of the financial options I had in buying the car, and he answered all of my questions.I hope to drive my Crosstrek for a very long time, but if I had to buy another car, I would definitely come back to Santa Monica Subaru to buy a new car!

Just completed my 70,000 mile service at Santa Monica Subaru.Shelana Philip-Guide was my service writer and provided truly excellent service in getting my passenger-side airbag recall free replacement taken care of. Even when there was a broken airbag mount found behind the airbag, she expedited getting a replacement ordered before noon and called to apologize that they would need an extra half day to complete that repair.She also called when the repair inspector found some problems with the front and rear sway bars and the right front axle constant-velocity joint rubber cover, which were safety items that needed to be fixed. She located all the parts and had everything done before noon on the same day!This is truly an excellent Subaru Dealership and everyone went above and beyond to be very helpful and responsive 5-STARS!

I was attended to promptly and courteously by Mr. Jose Reyes. Subaru covered the expense of a rental car until mine was fixed. Car was ready next day-What could improve. The service representative Mr. Reyes was excellent. No complaints about him but the overall experience when coming in to service a vehicle could be improved by: 1) Dealer providing loaner vehicles instead of having to go somewhere else to rent a vehicle2) Having a separate reception/ waiting area for customers who are coming into the service department and not conducting business inside the same area where vehicles are being serviced3) Subaru roadside assistance needs to improve BIG TIME:the waiting time for a Tow (I waited almost 3 hours for the tow truck)

I have been searching for a car that fits my long torso and "less than optimal" body proportions for a long time. I ended up at Subaru after a month of frustrations with other brands. All cars nowadays seem built for munchkins, and I would either hit my head on the roof of most cars, or something else would not feel right. If you are the type who suffers in an airplane seat, that's what I feel like in almost all cars these days. I was surprised to find that all Subaru models are quite roomy. The people at Subaru have been really terrific, and that says a lot because I am almost certain that I make a car salesman feel like most of us feel about them! Jeremie Hobley has been incredibly patient and supportive, as were the general manager and everyone else I was in contact with. I went back and forth to the dealership four times over two weeks to decide on the car. It was a pleasure dealing with them.

I bought and still own my 2007 Outback, which I am keeping for my sons and still runs fantastically and I just purchased a 2016 3.6 (so fast) Outback. Everything about my experience was terrific - particularly Vance, my laidback, no pressure-just-want-to-sell-you-a-car-you're-happy-with sales guy, who worked around my crazy schedule, patiently answered my questions, allowed me to take my time (it took two weeks because of my schedule) and treated me with respect (something that doesn't always happen for women buying cars). Jose was great in diagnosing the issue I was having with my car, as well as making the repairs and getting the car back to me in a timely fashion. The car was ready in a matter of house and Jose was very helpful in explaining the issues I was having, as well as walking me through what everything would cost. We were lucky to get Elin as our salesperson here, and we wound up buying a Subaru Outback. She was attentive, had answers to all of our questions and consistently followed up with our questions. And when we got busy she made it easy to come back in to do more test drives and ask more questions. The "One Price" policy was a cause for concern it first; it's odd not being able to negotiate down. But when you look at what we paid, we probably did just as well as we would have had we haggled. She was the best car sales person we'd ever worked with and I highly recommend you seek her our if you go here. Financing gave us a better deal than my own bank. Only issue was the warranty sales process. The finance rep wouldn't take no for an answer, kept returning to it, and when he finally realized I was holding firm, grew annoyed. Other than that it was a good experience

Regarding my experience with the sales staff, especially our Sales person, Alexander (Alex) Hartyl, the purchase process was a pleasure. Alex did everything to make sure our car was available on the anticipated date, and although I was abroad at the time, made every effort to contact me, and stayed in contact until my return. The "paper" process was simplified and expeditious, and he had all documents ready when I came in to accept delivery. The car was in perfect condition on delivery. I then had some additional products ordered and the car was ready within a day. He then delivered the car to my home exactly when he said he would. Most of all, he did a walk-around before handing me the keys, and found a small defect, which I probably would not have seen for a while, which he promptly showed me, and then committed to have it repaired ASAP. He knew that the defect had probably occurred during application of the Perma-Plate products. He could have very well just left me the car as is was. with the defect to save himself the inconvenience, However, he took the "high road" and brought the car back to the dealer for the minor repair. He then made a second delivery after the car was fixed. That incident really was a demonstration of his honest character. He totally took responsibility for the problem and in getting the car back in perfect shape. He did as good a job as possible in showing and demonstrating the features of the car in the time that was available to me. He was definitely an asset to the company and dealership.

Elin's communication with us throughout the process was excellent and she went out of her way to make our buying experience a great one. I cannot say enough about how well my wife and I were treated, how smoothly the process went, and the absolute excellent overall service that we received from her. We had a remarkable experience from start to finish at Subaru Santa Monica. The Product Consultant who helped us, Elin Buskhe, was exceedingly pleasant and cordial from the first interaction with her. We walked onto the show room but never said that we were looking to buy a new car were just "shopping around." Even with no guarantee of a sale, Elin stuck with us as we looked at different models of Subaru's with different options. She never once pressured us to buy anything and was very experienced about our choice of the Legacy 2.5i limited model and features. Elin communication with us throughout the process was excellent and she went out of her way to make our buying experience a great one. She demonstrated in depth knowledge of the vehicle itself, the manufacturer, and Subaru's history. Buying a car can be frustrating at times, but working with the right people makes the process more pleasant. Having been fortunate enough to have Elin who is very knowledgeable guide us through the process was what made our experience great enough to recommend her in particular and Subaru Santa Monica to others. Financial Manger Iryna Gilbert was great to work with as well. Elin Buskhe spent a lot of time working to make sure we knew and understood all the features, systems, apps, and various buttons of the car before driving it off the lot and that we were happy with everything. She was genuinely concern that we were totally satisfied with the car and service. Elin, in my humble opinion, exemplify what a true sincere salesperson/consultant specialist should be. A no-hassle good deal on a very slightly used Crosstrek. It has a bunch of extras and only 200 miles. The best part was dealing with the VERY well informed salesperson Elin Bukshe. I only asked her the non-obvious questions that you don't find answered on the web reviews, and she knew all but one of the answers. (That she got from another person, quickly.) Bravo!

My wife and I have not-so-flexible work schedules, and they were happy to accommodate our needs when scheduling the test drive, and when completing the purchase. Let me start by saying that I really detest walking into dealerships when I'm shopping for a new car. I really want to thank the staff at Santa Monica Subaru for changing my mind and rewarding my wife and I not just with a great vehicle, but an outstanding experience in shopping and purchasing that car. My wife and I were down to either a Ford Escape, the Subaru Forester, or the Subaru Outback. We had test driven the Escape earlier in the day then went to SaMo Subaru to look at their cars. We met with one of their salespeople, Willy, and started asking questions. Willy was extremely knowledgeable about all of the cars on his lot and informed us of the differences between the two Subaru's that we were considering and the Ford. Never did he disparage the Ford. I never felt pressured. I felt respected and helped. We left the dealership to sleep on it and decided to go with the Forester instead of the other two. When we got to the dealership the next evening Willy had gone for the day but Vance, one of Willy's associates, met with us to answer our final questions. Vance did a great job of walking us through all of the different models of the Forester and their options. He knew every option, feature & benefit and I also never felt pressured. He helped us pick the perfect model and never tried to "up sell" us. Arjan in finance finished the buying process by walking us through all of the various warranty and added options and made recommendations to us that I felt were absolutely honest and never swayed by costs/money. He got us through that part of the deal expeditiously and my wife was able to drive off in her new Forester. I am really appreciative of the experience. I think that the entire attitude of the organization is designed to move away from salespeople working on commission to a team working together to satisfy their clients. Great people. I worked with both Willy and Vance to buy my wife a new car. I spent 2 hours with Willy on learning about the Subaru cars, differences in models, test driving, et cetera. He knows his stuff and he drives a Subaru Forester himself. My wife and I slept on the decision, then went back to Santa Monica Subaru the next evening. Willy had left for the day but his associate, Vance, led us through the sales process and trained us on the use of the new Forester. Vance knows all of the ins and outs of those cars just like Willy does.Never once did I feel any pressure from anyone at the dealership. I was in the market for a Pre-Owned Toyota 4Runner, and to my surprise I found it (via a web search) at Subaru of Santa Monica. This was the easiest car buying experience I've ever had. I simply contacted them through their website, and Kevin Amaya got back to me quickly. He arranged a test drive, and was able to answer all my questions about the car even though it wasn't a Subaru. I wasn't ready to buy immediately, and he didn't pressure me. When I was ready and returned the next day, I worked with his partner Alex, and got the truck. Their One Price arrangement was stress-free, they gave me a good deal on my trade-in, and they secured good financing, which made it all easy. Honestly, if it wasn't so smooth, I probably wouldn't have gone through with it, but I'm happy (and relived) I did. Ask for Kevin & Alex!

My sales person, Chenchen Yu was knowledgeable, professional, enthusiastic and great to work with. She answered all my questions, (researching the answers to those she wasn't sure about) and helped me get the car I wanted, equipped exactly the way I wanted it. (No pressure ever. I was totally in control of the pace of the sales cycle.)I recommend both Chenchen and the dealership as the first and last stop you need to make when you are ready to purchase a Subaru. Five words, five stars for Subaru Santa Monica. I went to several places but decided to get my new car at this place, mainly because of the staff here. Elin Buskhe helped me on the first day, she provided a lot of helpful information and alternatives, professional but not pushy. First, I thought Subaru Legacy might be too big for me, so I went to different dealerships, but no one can compare to the experience that I got from Subaru. So, I went back 2 days later to get my car, Elin was not available, but Maria helped me. Maria is also very helpful and professional, polite and friendly. Fred, the manager, is also very friendly and helpful. My 2 encounters with Subaru were very impressive. Good job and keep up your good work.

I was impressed with how easy it was to arrange an appointment for my service and the minute I stepped out of my car I was greeted by a very lovely and pleasant Shelana Philip-Guide who took care of me immediately. A couple of hours later I came back and there was my car ready to go, in perfectly fine-tuned condition, which as we all know is extremely important to any Subaru STI owner. Oh and did I mention that the entire service was absolutely FREE!!!! She gave me the invoice for my records with all the things they'd done nicely itemized and a lot of zeroes in the "balance due" line!! Thank you, Shelana Philip-Guide!!!

Elin at Subaru was great! She was very patient as my husband as I separately test drove 2 cars (so 4 times total). She explained all the features very well and was very knowledgeable as she answered our questions. We felt ZERO pressure - it was such breath of fresh air! We had our 2 kids and our labrador with us which she welcomed inside the dealership. After the purchase, she took a long time to carefully explain every feature and made sure we practiced them before we left! We really were treated very well and I would have no hesitation recommending Elin or Santa Monica Subaru to anyone.

Chen Chen Yu helped me find the car I wanted, helped me through the leasing process, was calm and helpful without the usual "hard sell" tactics at most car dealerships. I called regarding a certain model and she said she had several and when I went there, she actually had the car, not like a couple of other Subaru dealers who told me they had one and lied. After talking to the finance guy, who was wonderful, she showed me how everything on the car worked and even followed up with an email and phone call to make sure I still like the car and did I need anything else. All in all, it was a great experience! I would recommend them highly but ask for Chen Chen or Ron, they're both so helpful.

Everyone here very friendly, relaxed and happy! I was on the fence about the no-haggle policy, but the price was actually excellent so I'm not complaining. It was just such a pressureless situation that I think I was glad in the end. We came looking for a used car and were on the cusp of buying one when we changed our minds and decided to go with a newthough this had never been proposed by anyone. Our salesperson, Elin, came in on her day off to make sure everything went all right, even though the salespeople do not receive a commission. Our man, Edgar, really hooked it up with our Crosstrek. He worked incredibly hard on finding the right color and trim, with Eyesight, and he made it happen thanks to the support from his manager. In the end, Edgar found the exact car we wanted and was able to get it shipped in from another dealership, and he even went out of his way to store it when we couldn't make it the weekend he managed to get it transferred. And the price? We were really happy to see that our final invoice was incredibly close to the actual price the dealers pay for the car. It was awesome. Can't give Edgar and the team at Subaru Santa Monica enough praise for the way they handled our leasing experience.

I think the follow up from companies really say a lot about the people who work there. I received excellent follow up from Seth when I bought my car here recently. It took me awhile to select a car, but I am so pleased I selected a Subaru Forester. I was even more selective about which dealership I would purchase the car. I finally decided to go to Santa Monica. Right from the time I walked in until the time I drove away in my car, my experience was an exceptionally pleasant one. My sales rep was Mr. William Kaufman. He answered all my questions, which were quite numerous, without hesitation and in the most pleasant matter. He inform me of all the options available and pointed out the models that were priced lower than others. Imagine, a salesperson helping you save money! When the contract was signed, he went through the owner's manual to acquaint me with the features of the car. He also made sure I was comfortable in the car with the tech features and other aspects of the car handling. He even synced my phone to the car. Mr. Kaufman provided me with his card and invited me to call if I have any questions or concerns. He has called me three times since I purchased the car for follow up. Wonderful service which I greatly appreciate.Buying a car is one thing. Buying a car from a place with great salespeople makes the experience that much better. Overall, I think I made an excellent choice in my car and the dealership.

Buying our new Outback at Santa Monica Subaru was relatively stressless, given their one-price policy. Sure, if you're Donald Trump, you could probably get them to pay for your car, but for the rest of us, it's nice to know what the price is going to be well beforehand instead of ten seconds before you sign your life away. Seth Chadwick and Maria ? were great -- they patiently sat in a panoply of back seats as we deliberated over whether to take home a Crosstrek, Forrester or Outback, and once we decided on the latter, Seth explained all the features from the push-button emergency brake (which we've actually gotten to like) to the hi-tech cruise control (which we're still working up the courage to try). Seth had no qualms about letting us test out the Crosstrek on the 10 Freeway, and has also faithfully responded to numerous text-message questions about headlight options, seat covers (verboten), etc. All in all we are very happy with our experience and our new car, which thankfully has turned out to be an inch or two narrower than our 1920s driveway.

My appointment was easily set, they took my car right away, and Troy and Rob made sure that any other car service needs were also resolved.Subaru covered my rental during the recall service (2 days), which was much appreciated.Troy wrapped it all up nicely and I'm just waiting for a few parts to come in to address to other issues.Overall, a very good experience.My only complaint? Well, up till recently there was not much of a waiting area to speak of. They've solved that problem by taking over what was previously, I believe, a salesman's office. Kudos for that. Now can you PLEASE provide some real half & half -- instead of phony powdered creamer -- to go with your Keurig-style coffee? And some donuts, too (like my previous dealership) to reward those who bring their car in early.You'd be surprised how far little gestures like that can go :)Otherwise, keep up the good work!

I brought in my 2013 Subaru Legacy for its 60K servicing. Rob Mochizuki was the service writer and he explained what would be done and quoted me a price. After the service was complete, the mechanic and Rob detected two issues not present when the car arrived. They fixed both issues, at no charge, explaining that they could not let the car leave with more problems than it arrived, and for the reason of my customer loyalty. I just purchased a Legacy from Subaru Santa Monica and had the best car buying experience I've ever had. I had researched what I wanted and how much I wanted to spend through Consumer Reports. So I was armed.... But, I needn't have worried. Vance Walden, the sales representative was expert, personable and totally confident in the quality of his product. There was no pressure to buy. He and his manager worked hard to find exactly the car I wanted, and succeeded admirably. His explanations of the myriad functions of the car were thorough and easy to understand. The purchasing experience itself was made very simple by the new 'one price' policy instituted by the new dealership owners, The LA Car Guy. The final price compared favorably to what Consumer Reports estimated would be an excellent price. And, finally, the finance manager, Arjahn Mamaghan, made the paperwork quick and easy. All in all, I left feeling that this is the way car buying should be.

I cannot overstate the fact that every car salesale man should be like Frank -- I really appreciated the way he worked with me and when I want to purchase or lease my next car it will certainly be through Frank.Vance explained everything to me about the car, about the financing, and was overall a very compassionate and nice guy. Also he has a good sense of humor. It was nice to see him laughing with my 75 year old grandfather. I got the impression that he was a very good man.Arjan was the guy that I did all the paperwork with. I was being really annoying and neurotic about signing a bunch of papers but he was calm and patient enough to clearly explain things to me (several times over infact). He made the experience of signing papers and reviewing contracts as pleasant, quick, and simple as I could imagine. Even though this isnt the closest dealership to my house, I will certainly be returning here to service my car and get my next car (if it is indeed a subaru).I could not imagine a better experience buying a car -- I highly recommend working with this dealership.

I really liked my salesperson, Chenchen Yu. She was intelligent and capable. She went out of her way to even come to my home after and help me set up something with the car. I did not appreciate the hard sell to sell for extra insurance for dent sand lost keys etc. I did not want it and vehement said so, but the salesperson wouldn't give up and eventually I bought into it. But I have since cancelled this. This left a bad taste in my mouth as I did not want the insurance. This hard sell is not worthy of Suburu. This is my 3rd Suburu from the same dealership.

Researched and asked advice before visiting Subaru Santa Monica. Knew it was either an Outback or Forester, because my northern California friends who live in the country recommended them highly. Everyone at Subaru Santa Monica was very courteous and knowledgeable, but it was Chen who guided me through my first new car purchase. Thank you Chen. I ended up with a 2016 Forester, and I couldn't be happier. She patiently helped me sift through the inventory, until I found the right package for me, with a price even my mother approved. After trying to connect with a few other nearby Subaru dealers, I picked up the phone called the Sales Manager, Ron, made a request for a exact model. To my surprise and opposite of my experience with other dealerships, he was able to find the exact model and answer all of my questions. The next morning we met at the dealership, he put me in touch with the awesome young product consultant, Seth Chadwick, who assisted in closing the deal. We agreed on the price quickly as the offer was completely in line with what I had hoped for based on my research. I drove the car off the lot that same afternoon. Very happy with my Outback selection and I'd go back to this dealer for my next Subaru!

After visiting four dealers and emailing several others, we purchased a car from Santa Monica Subaru. We worked with Vance and had a great experience. We really appreciated the "One Price" on all the cars, which eliminated the need to go back and forth on the price of the car. It also allowed us to make an immediate decision on each car whether it fit within our budget or not. And the "One Price" beat the best quotes we received from other dealers. In fact, I sent another dealer a link to a car on Santa Monica Subaru's website, and the other dealer would not match the One Price from Santa Monica Subaru. The MSRP on the car from the other dealer was only TWO dollars more than the MSRP of the car at Santa Monica Subaru. The only difference between the two cars was the color (one was white and the other was silver). The other dealer's "best price" was $1,000 more than the One Price at Santa Monica Subaru. We spent a lot of time looking for the right car at the right price, and we found it at Santa Monica Subaru. We could have saved a lot of time by starting at Santa Monica Subaru. If you're in the market for a Subaru, I would highly recommend meeting with Vance at Santa Monica Subaru.

We bought our 2015 Subaru Forester here in November 2014 & have never had anything but Excellent Service at Santa Monica Subaru. We have driven it a lot as it is the favorite of the family so it has been in several times for service. Rob Mochizuki in the Service Dept has helped us the past couple of times. He has always been courteous & quick to process our car when we arrive at our appointment time. The car is always completed in the estimated amount of time so we can plan our day's activities. This is the only car dealer I have ever enjoyed coming to for everything!

I brought in my Impreza to have a flat tire replaced and make sure everything was in order with the change in tires being it is an all wheel drive. Troy Scott made sure the service was accomplished at the time of our appointment by handling the matter himself while many of the employees happened to be at the company Holiday party. I appreciated not only getting the problem taken care of right away but also making sure the costs were fair and covered under my Warranty. I felt I was in safe hands. The only problem was at the end when I was trying to pick up my car. I'll be honest, I was not considering a Subaru when car shopping this past black Friday weekend. But salesman Todd Shak helped sway me into being a proud first time Forester owner. His superb expertise made sure I knew the ins and outs of the car brand. He also showed me great patience by helping me decide on a model that was right for me. I could tell he wanted me to get more bang for the buck on a deal that he knew i would be very happy with. I had a great experience buying my car from Todd Shak At Subaru of Santa Monica. Todd gave me plenty of "no pressure" time to test drive the 4 cyl vs 6 cyl Outback and helped me decide on what options were best for me. When the car arrived he spent a couple hours with me teaching me how to find and operate all the car's features and took me on a test drive to make sure I was okay. I brought my Subaru Forester for its first maintenance service. I booked on line, they were waiting for me. The service was fast, efficient, and courteous. I'm very happy for the service. About the shopping service, I have mixed feelings. In my first visit, in the evening of a working day, the guy was just too tired to make the minimum interest in the customer. However, the manager that night was quite helpful. On my second visit, there was this guy, Miguel Lopez, who was very interested in doing business, without being pushing, who was of great help. About the premises, I think they need an urgent revamp. Subaru merits a better showroom.

Bought a 2013 Crosstrek XV in June of 2013 for my wife for all her kindness and actions! I use to sell cars back when I was younger and so feel I know a bit about all the things that dealers and salesmen have to go thru to close a deal... and I mean PRESSURE! Not the case at Santa Monica Subaru. I had priced a few models on the internet a few days before going in to the dealer.... and we had allowed Wondries Ford the 1st shot at selling us an Escape as all of our 4 cars were Ford's and all had been purchased from Wondries either new or used over the last 20 years. All of our service work had been done by Wondries also. Would you say I'm loyal? BUT, Wondries, just couldn't, or wouldn't, give us the trade-in value we needed and wouldn't get close to the monthly we could afford. Santa Monica Subaru took their time with us, let us test drive Outback's, Forester' s, and Crosstrek's to our hearts content! When we finally settled on the car we wanted and were deep into final figures I mentioned that the reason we had picked Santa Monica Subaru was how many cars in stock I had looked at online....so, without being asked, our salesman checked and got us even more off the sticker because of online pricing!!! This actually cost him commission! We got the car we wanted, in the color my wife loved, for at least $20 less per month, and for less total months financing (48 instead of 60) and at an interest rate neither Ford nor my credit union could match! All completely painless and with no high pressure, wow, what a dealership. I should add that we live in Alhambra, so this was a drive and there are closer Subaru dealers to us. And did I mention we got free service for the first 24000 or 24 months? Their service dept has been nothing but easy to deal with, though really, we have had no problems with the car and just took it there for the oil changes and inspections.

My bar was low given that they are in Santa Monica, but, as it would turn out, despite their dumpy-looking badly-in-need-of-a-reno facilities, they are pretty awesome. I factory ordered my car; they were helpful, honored the quoted price, and didn't use any hard-sell tactics. I didn't expect a good experience at *any* auto dealer, frankly, but I got one here. Highly recommended if you are in the market for a Subie.

We returned in the end to the SM one because they gave us the best value, customer service and were closer to us. Dealing with Matthew Turney to buy my new vehicle was pleasant. I was not ready to pick up the new car when it arrived, as I was waiting to sell my previous vehicle and use some of that money for the down payment. Matthew was very accommodating and patient in allowing me a couple extra weeks to sell my old car before completing the sale and picking up the new one. This part of my experience was very positive. When it came time to sign the sales contract, however, there were some events that made that final part of the transaction a little less enjoyable. The man with whom I signed the contract, Tim, informed me that I would not have to contact my credit union through whom I was getting my loan for the balance of the vehicle. I had given Matthew the pre-approval letter from my credit union, which, I assume he passed on to Tim. Tim also failed to give me my copy of the contract once signed. I suppose that is as much my fault for not thinking of it -- except that I assumed the other paperwork he did hand to me included the contract. I did visit my credit union the next day to finalize the loan and take care of a couple of other details re: the new car loan and found that the paperwork had not been sent to the credit union. As my credit union rep and I pursued the matter, we found that there was a third, intermediary company called "cuddle" through whom the dealership was arranging my loan. I'm not sure how that really was supposed to work, but Tim had assured me that their dealership had a direct communication with my credit union and never mentioned any third party being involved. The name "cuddle" was never mentioned. My credit union rep told me that certain benefits they could offer me on the loan were not available if the dealership went through this "cuddle" company, so we called Tim from the credit union to find out what was going on. In that phone conversation, Tim became impatient and belligerent toward the credit union rep -- even hanging up on her at one point. He did call back and apologized to her and to me later that evening, but his manner on the phone was very unprofessional and rude, making the end of my purchase experience somewhat less than pleasant. In the end, Tim did forward the appropriate documents directly to my credit union, per my request.

Just purchased a new 2015 Outback. Subies are great cars (we've had 5) and this one may be our favorite. A terrific vehicle. SM Subaru made buying easy. I did most of the work over the internet and finalized via phone. They went the extra mile for us, getting the exact features and color we wanted without the long wait of a new factory order. Our salesman was Maz Siam and he took care of us like we were royalty. Plus he's a genuinely nice guy. I highly recommend the car, the dealer, and Maz.

The goal of buying my new car was to do as much as I could over the internet. I didnt want to be at the dealership at all. This was my first solo purchase as an adult, So all I heard was alot of horror stories of what I was to deal with. SO !!! after placing a request on cars.com, I was called immediately and the voice on the other end of the phone was not what I expected. I was figuring some old guy with no manners was going to vomit cliches to me. I was so wrong. I got the internet sales guy named Tim !!!! He put me at ease right away but reassuring me that he would back up everything he said by email. Needless to say I got my Subaru the following Saturday and everything went as planned. I was doing an exhaustive search for a well maintained and conditioned pre owned Subaru. This is not an easy task. Most people keep their Subies for a long time or they are outdoors people that thrash them and just replace them. I went to 4 other dealerships before landing at Santa Monica Subaru. They only had two vehicles that were available. Both were Outbacks. One was a 2013 Limited and a 2011 limited. These cars were immacualte and looked as if they had only been driven a few hundred miles. Since my budget was set I preffered the 2011. I tried to find something wrong with it as I did the others. But to my surprise I even liked the price. Tim was the salesman who helped me to make my decision on the 2011. I would refer even my family members here for a transparent and hassle free purchasing experience.

Michael and Ronnie were super nice guys to work with, a real pleasure. did my battery and a few other checks i needed and was out of there in a flash. waiting room is fine and got asked various times if i'm being helped. even cashier was really friendly and they had my car back around asap. and didn't even mention the car wash- was an actual great job, unlike usual you get her and there (spray water around and give it back to you wet). walked away happy, didn't waste much time. thanks guys!

Stood around for quite some time and there were no sales people to be found. Walked up to the desk and waited till the only salesperson I saw was off of his cell phone. Asked if i could test drive a BRZ and was told that i couldn't - that people who buy them want zero miles on them. I was told to try Toyota down the street and drive a similar model (FRS) and to come back if still wanted one because they have a lot in stock. I asked if he was kidding. Walked right out and will never be back.Plan on talking my business to Sherman Oaks.

Great to be using SM Subaru again for service on my Outback. Dan is great and I think he's been there a few years now, so good to see a familiar face having not been back for few years. Hung on the couch in lobby (low on sugar in coffee bar) and basically was in and out quickly. Also, I really appreciate when everything is finished that they go over everything I asked about in the beginning, without having to remind them. Well done, I'll be back soon for oil change.

My wife and I bought an 2013 Outback this past weekend and had an exceptional shopping experience. Russell Adams helped us find the right car and took really good care of us from start to finish. Extremely bad customer service. Upon arrival you don't get greeted, you have to hunt down a sales man which is rare for a car dealership. They give you attitude, won't work with you and when calling back to follow up or negotiate they tell you to stop calling or they'll bump the price up. What kind of business is that? Car dealerships should at least try to work with you or nicely tell you no, not treat you like that. So if you're looking to buy a car, fair warning, do not go here.

Bad service from the sales men and General Manager. We tried working out a deal and asked if the sales men could ask the manager if he was willing to take our offer. He just simply said no i dont want to ask and thats final. He was very unproffesional. The next day we called back to the general manger and he said he didnt have to sell us the car and to stop calling or he would just keep raising the price. Think twice before you go deal with unproffesional people.
