I never write reviews but I have to tell you the service center at this Honda dealer was just amazing. My husband and I were leaving the U.P. on June 25th heading for home in NJ and our Passport needed an oil change. We called our local Honda dealer in NJ to arrange for this service to be done as soon as we got home but was told they couldn’t get us in until July 13th! My husband called Thelen Honda since it was on our way home to see if they could help. The service center said they could squeeze us in later that day! We arrived at 11:40 am, they did an oil change and rotated our tires and we were back on the road at 12:15! 12:15!!! We were just so appreciative and stunned with the quality of customer service extended to us, ‘the out of towners’. We felt we were give top shelf “ pit stop” quality service. A big heart felt thank you to Kyle and the entire service team at Thelen Honda. Kudos go out to Hannah Thelen, the service manager, and to the Thelen family. They lead by example. If they treated us this kindly I can’t imagine how they treat their local customers!!! Thanks again!

I had a very warm welcome and though the fellow who greeted me had just joined the department, he seemed fairly knowledgeable. While he and I were talking, Chris (with whom I'm well acquainted), did break into explain about some services that would not apply to my particular car. Chris was professional and although he addressed the young man I was talking to, he was polite and articulate explaining that updates were always coming in. I appreciate that he told BOTH of us this and did NOT wait until I had left to explain this as it was something that I needed to know as well. I hope that the 'new' fellow felt the same as Chris was not demeaning; more just informative.

We did not ourselves take our Honda to Bay City but our son-in-law volunteered to take it for the recall. We are getting a bit too old for driving distances and bless our family for being there for us to get the necessary recall accomplished. Our son-in-law's experience was great as he didn't have any problem with taking care of getting the Honda fixed for us. And we are extremely grateful to him for doing this for us as he had to come from Perry MI to our home in Harrisville in order to take the car in for us. Hopefully, our Honda will not need further trips to Bay City! If it needs service from Honda, it is a bit of a hardship for us to take it to you ourselves. Too bad you aren't located closer!I must also add that it is a great little car and we are very pleased with it. Lois Carey

imagine paying top price for a new Honda 2016 CR-V L X and find out that the expensive radio that came with your vehicle doesn't come with XM Satellite connectivity. When you contact the dealer, they tell you that this model doesn't have this feature. You should have bought the car with the leather seats. Then, to add a heaping, helping of salt to the raw wound they tell you, "No, we cannot help you. You then explain that you weren't expecting anything for free and will gladly pay for the model with this feature, you are still told they cannot help you.. You explain that the Serious XM Satellite radio that you can get from the satellite company is frustrating to use because the car radio has to be set to an FM frequency that is not being used and the satellite radio has to be tuned to that same channel to work. The sound is awful and the radio connection cuts off frequently. Trying to set the radio channels poses extreme difficulty, too. Honda, you blew it!

I brought my Accord in for an oil change and Chris in service was so helpful. He advised that my oil level was at 40% and explained why I didn't need to have it done now. He also showed me features on my car that I wasn't aware of, I bought it in March of this year. He was great and I will definitely be back with customer service like this.

Took my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid in because the SRS light was on. There was also a recall notice on the passenger airbag. It was only an hour to do both, and the SRS light check ended up being free because it concerned a seatbelt tensioner, which is covered under Honda's lifetime warranty on seatbelts.Cody, who helped me, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and all the dealership and service center staff I encountered were positive and welcoming. I would gladly rely on Thelen Bay City for any other serious problems I might encounter.

I came in for an oil change and a check-up. When the service rep came over to me with his tray of fluid samples and the dabs from my Element, I thought "Oh, No! Here it comes!" But he simply went down the list and showed me that all of my fluids were spot on perfect. I told him that that was the reason I am still so happy to bring my 215,499 miles-on-the-odometer car in to Thelen for all my service. I know that I've rated them five stars in some of the categories above for which the stars aren't applicable, but that's the way their work has been for eleven years so I say "Five Stars!"

The service explanation before and after service was excellent, and felt the charges were reasonable. The only thing that still concerns me is that I pointed out that the tire pressure warning light was on when I arrived (I mentioned it), and it is still on. We briefly discussed that cold weather might be the problem, but I don't know at all how concerned I should be about this.

Called Thelen's after crashing my car. I was at there dealer ship an hour later and they had a loaner waiting for me. This was late in the afternoon. Next day they had the car torn down and parts order. I picked the car up 2 weeks later. It looked new agian. I'll point out that this was over Christmas and New Year holidays.

Wonderful Experience. I went in to test drive a new 2016 Honda Odyssey after deciding my previous Honda Odyssey that I loved and drove for 13 years needed to be replaced. After a quick test drive, I walked out about half an hour later with an agreement for a new one. The experience was great. Jason was very knowledgeable about the car and helped me with my trade in and getting the best financing option. I also had my company employee discount which made the negotiation on price hassle free. Jason took care of all of the paperwork, extra rust proofing/paint/fabric protection, and the delivery of the vehicle when I picked it up was quick and informative. I absolutely love the new car.

I was able to get a ride home while Thelen kept my car, and also get a ride back promptly when my car was finished. I was surprised by how quickly my car was ready. My car started making a terrible noise while I was in Bay City so I decided to stop into Thelen Honda without any notice and they were able to squeeze me in and check my car out and fix the problem (replaced break pads and rotors). I own a 2004 Honda Element with 204,500 miles on it. I was hearing a bit of a voice from under the hood, and took it to Thelen Honda for service. As I suspected, the water pump was making the noise. Thelen Service Department replaced the pump and took care of other routine service needs in a timely manner. The water pump had to be ordered, so they provided me with a loaner vehicle over the weekend. I am very pleased with their service.

Great news it was only a rusted heat shield. $65. Have always been truthful with us. Chris has been fair and honest. We have been dealing with this dealer for over 20 years.

High pressure sales pitch by Jason-- despite me saying that I didn't appreciate that. He also interrupted me alot when I was talking. Awful experience -- stay away from thelen . They r much nicer at betten honda !!!!

I went in for a simple oil change and was charged over $100. When I asked how an oil change could be this high, I was talked down to and treated with no respect at all by a Chris Mcphee and a Lori Ross.

I recently brought my Honda Civic in for some routine work and an oil change. I had an opportunity to work with Chris and he was fantastic. He was very honest with me and showed me what was causing my problems. I was at ease and the repair costs were very competitive with my nieghborhood mechanic!! My car was returned to me quicker than I expected and they had washed it for me. It was a very friendly atmosphere and I will be returning to Thelen Honda for all my repair work.

Since there are hardly any authorized service locations for Honda in the tricity area, we went to Thelen Honda for the 75k service. they charged $700, and the mileage dropped tremendously after the service. We thought there may be some reason and checked with them, But the Service attitude was really BAD !!!!! The Manager didn't even allow the mechanic to check the car (not that he was busy with other customers). Absolutely no Service attitude. Well I paid freaking 700 bucks for it, it was not free. I have a right to know why the mileage dropped drastically and why the engine makes a noise.DO NOT go there even if they offer a FREE Service. Get your Honda serviced by local Mechanic instead..Honda should probably revoke their license from such dealers

Thelen Audi service damaged two of my 2007 Q7 (1200 miles) alloy wheels during a required first 6 month service and recall. Service accepted respondsibilty, but knew of no one in Michigan to repair the dents and chips to the wheel finish. I found another Audi dealer who would deal with this repair to OEM appearance, but Joseph Thelen said no.... I would avoid this dealership for sales and servive if at all possible.

I bought a 02 Accord coupe at this dealer and here is my story.<br>The 03 models were out and I was able to get the car lodaed out for almost $4000 less than sticker. Also as part o fthe deal I got a spoiler added. I live in fairly well populated area in Central Michigan and this is the nearest dealership to buy a Honda,VW, or Audi. I made a trip back to the dealership for the spoiler installation after purchasing the car. A buffer was dropped on the hood. I was forced to return for that repair. The car is silver and the paint did not match. I have not mentioned it but it bothers me whenever I look at the hood. Another problem I have is more of a corporate honda thing that buyers are not made aware of. The car has a service reminder light the stays on when a service is due. This is a problem because the dealer is about a 45min drive away. I travel a lot so I have already had the car in for service at 2,500mi, 7,500mi, 13,500mi and 22,500mi The cost each time has varied between $120 and $250. I believe I paid about $120 for a simple oil change, tire rotation and balance at 7,500mi. It just doesn't seem like a good way to treat a new customer. My old car was a 97 Dodge Avenger with about 100,000 miles on it and my 02 Accord has already cost more in routine maintanence than my old car did while I racked up 100k on it!
