Due to a recent accident that was not our fault, my 2015 Toyota Rav4 was totaled. So had to go looking for a new vehicle. Now we just bought our family 4 Runner from Lazo Ilich on Labor Day. Now this is our 4 vehicle that Lazo has sold us in 3 years. So went in and bought myself a XLE Camary. I love working with Lazo and Toyota of Merrillville as they treat you RIGHT and like part of the Family. On our 4th car I did look around to see if there was something different I may like, but I came right back to see Lazo and bought my Camry. I know that my Toyota's are SAFE, as we walked away from the accident with no injuries. Also love Toyota as they are reliable.....never in our 5 Toyota's have we had any major issues. But this is a FANTASTIC place to buy your next Toyota and Lazo knows how to take care of his guests! Thank you Lazo and Toyota of Merrillville!

After speaking with a sales associate about purchase of a new 4Runner over the course of several days, we arrived at the dealer cash-in-hand to make a quick transaction only to find out the sales agent made completely false promises about their stock just to lure us in the door. They didn't have- and hadn't even carried- the car we were looking for in stock. The sales manager even admitted it was never there and that his sales team hadn't bothered to verify the inventory before we arrived. They made false, deceptive statements to get us in the door then tried to talk us into a different car once we took time off work to come in. Incredibly unprofessional and shameless.

TOOK 07 TUNDRA IN FOR AIR INDUCTION PUMP WARRANTY REPAIR. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE $100 FOR RUNNING TEST. I TOLD THEM NO WAY- AND THEN THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED OXYGEN SENSOR REPLACED WHICH THEY WOULD DO FOR $450. I TOLD THEM NO. FIRST OFF - AN OXYGEN SENSOR COST ABOUT $75 FROM AUTOZONE AND TAKES ABOUT 5 MINUTES TO REPLACE AND AUTOZONE WILL RUN THE TEST FOR FREE AND GIVE YOU THE PRINTOUT. ITS BEEN MORE THAN A YEAR AND I HAVE NEVER REPLACED SO CALLED FAULTY O2 SENSOR AND DASH LIGHT HAS NEVER CAME BACK ON. THE PREVIOUS YEAR WHEN I WENT IN FOR TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE THE PARTS / SERVICE GUY TOLD ME I NEEDED ALL NEW BRAKES. I HAD JUST HAD MY NEIGHBORHOOD MECHANIC PUT ALL NEW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ON A FEW MONTHS BEFORE. THEY WERE FINE AND ARE STILL FINE TODAY. THIS DEALERSHIP WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE WHEN IT COMES TO SERVICE OF VEHICLE. DO'NT TRUST ANY OF THEIR ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS THEY DIAGNOSE- IT'S JUST A BS SCAM TO CHARGE FOR REPAIRS YOU DO NOT NEED!!!!!!! I had a recall issue on one of my Toyota vehicles and called a different Toyota dealership and was told they didn't perform this service on Fridays and Saturdays . This was bad business sense and unacceptable in my opinion. I was tentative about calling Team Toyota due to previous experience with that dealership; however, they were closer to my home. Nevertheless when I contacted Toyota of Merrillville their response was positive from the start of my phone call to the service that was performed. It's refreshing to know that there still are some businesses that get it, treat people the way you should be treated and everyone wins.

I bought a 2008 Toyota Prius used from this dealer in December. It is now the very first days of March and my car has been acting up for the last week. Two days ago my master warning light apparatus on my dash along with the HYBRID SYSTEM FAILURE LIGHT which is pretty scary considering I just spent a hefty amount of money on this car and the hybrid system cost is no joke. So I call the dealership and I ask them what I should do. They tell me I should not be driving this car but they will not be able to look at it for another 4 days. REALLY. I just got this car two months ago and it's undrivable. Anyway, I brought it up there anyway and dropped it off. They call me the next day and tell me that my starting battery has went out (how convienient because it's not covered under warranty, whereas my hybrid system is) and it was going to cost $399 for them to install the battery but also $99.95 just because they looked at the car and diagnosed the problem. When I bought the car they told me they did a complete system check, that everything was good to go. Yet my battery goes out after two months of driving? And also my break pads are worn down to the metal? I am incredibly dissatisfied with this dealer. They seemed very honest at first. I would NEVER recommend anyone to buy a car from here, especially used.

Either the salesman was ignorant about something he should know and understand or they're all in cahoots to close an all cash deal. Either way the lies came out in the end and I hate even driving past this dealership. Don't be fooled by the friendly con game you experience coming in. It's a facade. Confront them and you will receive the nastiest reaction you'd ever imagine.

This dealership is one of the worst when taking your car in for service! They will try to get you to agree to very expensive maintenance and it became so expensive, that we started going to a reliable mechanic. It also kept us from buying a Toyota when we have been Toyota customers since 1988, no longer. We left the Toyota dealer and went across 30 to the Nissan/Kia dealer and bought our new car there instead of spending major dollars trying to fix a 2007 Camry!

Stopped by on a Thursday and told Lazo, the sales person, I was interested in test driving the Rav-4. Last year I was in there to check out the Venza. I didn't have time to test drive the Rav and told Lazo that I would be back because I was vary interested in the Rav. I also told him that I was comparing 3 other vehicles in that class and trying to make up my mind which one to buy. Talking with my partner and other people including all the sales people that we spoke to, I stated that all of the vehicles I was considering had great qualities and all are recommended by Consumer Reports but none of them really thrilled me! Saturday, we returned to talk to Lazo. When we walked into the showroom another vehicle caught my eye - the VENZA! Needless to say we test drove the Venza before the Rav. I enjoyed both vehicles. The new Rav drives, handles and rides much better than the previous model which my partner has. The Venza took me by surprise. I thought it was the 6 cylinder and it was the 4 cylinder. The comfort level exceeded my expectations. The deal that they were willing to give me, blew me away. I had no intentions of purchasing a vehicle today but we left there with the Venza and on Monday my partner is planning on returning to pick-up the Rav-4 that we had taken on the test drive! This was not are first time purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. Our 09' Rav-4 was purchased here and we have brought in friends who ended-up buying. Thanks to the "A" - Team at Merrillville Toyota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

My husband and I have been looking to purchase 2 new vehicles. We have looked at several dealerships with little luck. After being lied to at many other dealerships I wasn't very optimistic walking into Toyota of Merrillville. We had called Toyota of Merrillville before driving out and talked to a sales representative Jermey. We let him know what we were looking for and told him we would be in shortly. Once we arrived Jermey met us outside and introduced himself. He already had cars pulled up that we said we were interested in. I have never had someone do that for me before. After talking with Jermey our sales representative I began to realize this wasn't like the other places. My husband and I ended up purchasing 2 vehicles yesterday. I can honestly say this company has the best customer service I have ever encountered. Even the other employees walking around all said hello, congrats, etc The owner went way above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable with our purchase. I would highly recommend this dealership to any family, or person looking for a new or used vehicle. I went to Toyota of Merrillville because I have heard good things about the dealership through my friend that bought a Toyota Camry. It is close to home and I wanted to get a second car. This dealership helped me get a car for my daughter. It was a surprise birthday gift for her because she has a job and is now going to school to. I wanted something safe in the winter, good on gas and in good shape. Rahoul showed me the Rav4 which was perfect because it wasnt too big of an SUV, was a 4 cylinder and good on Gas with AWD. He knew all about its features, was friendly and wasnt pushy at all. I took it for a long test drive and it was in great shape. My credit isnt the best so Mr. Hunter got me a low payment on a loan with a little bit down payment to reestablish myself without paying through the nose! They treated with me with respect even though I may have not been buying the most expensive car or have great credit. They gave me a fair deal and I will always go back when I need another vehicle for my family. Everyone greeted me with a smile and was courteous. The icing on the cake was that they threw in 20 free carwashes and told me my first oil change will be complimentary. Thats a great deal and I definitely recommend Toyota of Merrillville on route 30!

I took my Camry to Toyota of Merrillville for an oil change. The service department screwed up my car. Upon realizing thier mistake, I contacted them and talked to 4 different people, including the service manager and the owner. All of them refused to take responsibility for thier mistake and refused to correct it, unless of course I paid for it. This is not the first problem I have had with this dealership, but it will be the last. They have poor customer service, a poor service quality, and the worst overall experience I have ever had at any business. I will never again give them my money or business and I recommend everyone else do the same.

I bought a BRAND NEW 2012 Scion xB (with 21 miles on it)from them on Thursday evening and parked it in my garage. Wayne was my salesman and was friendly and made my sales tranaction easy. He ordered car mats as they did not have them in stock and told me he would call when they came in. He called promptly on Saturday, leaving a message saying my mats were in could I please come in so they can put them in my car for me. My complaint is not with Wayne, I suggest he find an employer with some integrity! Due to my work schedule I could not make it until late Monday morning. 4 DAYS after I drove off the lot. Friday afternoon I drove to my parents house, hitting/running over NOTHING and drove to work Saturday and Sunday...again hitting/running over NOTHING. There is ZERO evidence that another car ran into me to cause the damage I found. No dings, dents, scratches anywhere on teh body. As Wayne and I walked to put the mats in my car I notice my foggy water-filled passenger headlight. He had me pull into Service immediately to check it out...the nightmare begins! We were told to wait in the waiting area until they inspected the car. We were told the light would be replaced they would call when it came in. We left. While cleaning my car and my husband further inspecting the light he sees the hood is not aligned and is touching the fender on the driver side, the whole headlight is cracked where it attaches to the car, the bumper underneath is cracked, broken, and smashed back.There is safety blue paint on the underside of the bumper as if someone hit or ran into something on the ground. The whole front bumper of the car is bent to the point that none of the bumper or the passenger headlight lines up correctly. Which raises the question...How is a new headlight going to fit in properly? My husband overheard the salesman say to another employee...so we never got the car inspected. We were told THEY would not sell a car with damage someone obviously hit something. Basically saying we hit something and were lying to get it fixed for free. Don't let me forget that Thursday evening I sat there for 10-15 minutes after I was told my car was ready because the salesman couldn't find it after they took it back to clean it up for me...umm it was in the showroom, how dirty could it have been! He didn't know where it went and was looking for it. I was sold a brand new damaged car and only found out because my headlight got waterlogged after my first visit to the carwash. They made NO ATTEMPTS to even try to fix anything but the light and at this point I am not expecting a call when the new headlight comes in.

My window was not broken when I dropped my car off for work at the dealership. It was broken when I picked it up. I notified the service personnel and was told they were closing and there was nothing they could do right then. I suggested they bring the car in, take a look, clean the glass up, and tape a cover over the window for me and they agreed that was a good idea. Days later after having to go back in to meet with the service department manager and listen to "how do we know you didn't go out and break your window" all I was able to get was an after market window. After speaking with the owner I was still only able to get an after market window but having gone as far as I could I accepted. I scheduled the window to be fixed at Broadway Auto Glass (A++ Great Place). The owners son was the one installing my after market window. He pulled it out of the box.... took one look and decided not to install the window knowing that I, the customer, would not be happy. He said "it just didn't look right, I new you would not be happy". Broadway Auto Glass called the dealership and explained. The next time I spoke with the dealer they asked me to just drop my car off and they would take care of it. Fat chance I would ever trust them with my car again. Why couldn't it be put in at Brodway Auto Glass or another shop of my choosing? Why.... because they were planning on putting the same after market window in again, the same one Broadway and I told them was unacceptable. I know because I wrote down the model number the first time and checked before they went to install it the second time. Very very shady. I spoke with the service manager again and got no where. He wouldn't let me speak to the owner again and he actually hung up on me. Wow! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE

My family has owned 12 Toyotas, and we're loyal Toyota customers. That said, if your car needs serviced, stay away from this dealership. Not only do they do poor work, they're rude and dishonest on top of it. I'm not a "negative Nancy"-- I'll pay a compliment where it's due, but this place is truly terrible. 3 other relatives and I all had the same experience when getting our vehicles repaired here: we went in to get one thing fixed, and our car came away with a new and different, though definitely related, problem. When trying to resolve this issue, we were either told that we were imagining the problem or that the two problems were completely unrelated. A trip to another service, while inconvenient, confirmed our suspicions. I'm not sure what kind of show they're running at this dealership, but I'd recommend to steer clear.
