I thought there was a leak in my radiator because the overheating indicator had come on. Even though the service department was quite busy and there were no appointments available, they were able to work my car in and discovered that a rodent had gotten caught in the drive belt and caused it to come off. The belt was replaced and the engine checked for any possible damage and my car was ready to roll.

I had a surprisingly good experience when dealing with many of the sales staff. No pressure, and everyone was knowledgeable and attentive (things which were lacking in my prior interactions with other dealerships). I think I got a very good deal and it was quick and painless...and I absolutely love my new Prius!

No complaint about the car. I was dumb enough to purchase extended warranty and service agreements on a used Toyota. I was grossly overcharged. $1300 for 7 oil changes!!! They duped me into paying their full asking price and also into accepting a lowball on my trade-in and also a high interest rate on the loan. I guess it was my mistake for trusting any car salesman for any reason. Shame on them for taking advantage.Too bad there is not an opportunity to rate with negative stars.

I brought my car in to get some recall repairs done, as well as to check out some other minor issues. The service team fixed the recall issues quickly, and fixed the other issues without charging me anything, since they were minor. I felt very well taken care of by Toyota of SB.

We knew exactly what model and options we wanted (and what we wanted to pay) when we walked into the dealership. The sales and management team were pleasant to work with, and the process went very smoothly. We worked with Bryan Dunn for the purchase. They located a vehicle for us, had it brought in and our options were added. We were able to pick it up in less than a week. When we picked it up, Andres Alvarez spent a great deal of time with us, thoroughly going through all of the features and options. I was pleased with the sales staff at Toyota of Santa Barbara. I worked with Angel, Denver and their manager Frank, and Bri in financing. Everyone was very professional. Denver took a lot of time to help me learn the electronics on the new car. He also was Very helpful with some scheduling situations that occured. I was able to contact him, and he got things arranged for me. I was so grateful not to have the "hard sell" Pushy stereotype of a car sales person. It was fun working with Denver.I recognized Bri from the Service department, as I have been taking my cars to Toyota for service for many years. It was nice to have the friendly face of someone who knew me helping me with the final paperwork.

I'm a Santa Barbara native so staying local would make sense. The couple of times I've been into Toyota of Santa Barbara, I've been ignored. When they finally decide to come up to me, they are very pushy and not friendly at all. It is very sad that I've had to go to Ventura Toyota to purchase my four vehicles. Maybe employees at SB should go shadow Ventura Toyota.

After being let down big time by another Toyota dealership, I turned to Toyota of Santa Barbara. I spoke to Leonard on the phone and explained my situation and what I was looking for. He assured me that he had the vehicle that I was looking for and put me in touch with Sam right away. Sam sent me pictures upon request and I was able to schedule a test drive with ease. I was really impressed with both gentlemen. My wife and I drove 2 hours to the dealership and were met by Sam and Leonard. Less than 2 hours later I was a proud owner of a brand new Tundra. That would not have been possible without the meticulous preparation by these gentlemen prior to my arrival. I also wanted to mention Hector in the finance department. Very friendly all around, no gimmicks. My recommendation all around!!

The persons I have dealt with were all a team. Chris made sure I got the features I wanted and went over costs carefully. Gabe also did this, and was really careful to make sure we walked around the car, and that everything worked on the Prius and I was familiar with deals. This was done with extreme friendliness and professionalism. They did not rush me and made me want to use this rental service all the time.

I normally do not post negative reviews because I know it can be harmful to businesses. I must, however, be honest that my experience with Toyota of Santa Barbara was awful. I experienced, at best, organizational incompetence and severe failures in communication across numerous instances, and at worst, intentional deception. I recently purchased a 2015 Prius from Toyota of Santa Barbara, and was given a payment plan which appeared to add up to roughly $2000 more than the verbally agreed upon price. I discovered this discrepancy during the financing process only because I added up all of the monthly payments myself to make sure I understood everything. When I sought an explanation for the roughly $2000 discrepancy, the finance manager attempted to dissuade me from my conclusion, but eventually gave in and lowered the monthly payments to exactly what I thought they should have been. He refused to provide any kind of explanation for the mixup and cited some kind of miscommunication between himself and the sales team regarding the price. Much later, it came to light that the payments may have included a roughly $2000 service extension that I never asked for, nor was ever made aware of.I believe that had I not been stubborn in double checking all the math I would have been sold a service extension which I was never at any point made aware of. Whether they intentionally attempted to include it without my knowledge or it was due to an honest blunder I cant say. However, either way I would have been made to pay $2000 for something I never wanted.Furthermore, after I already had the car for a few weeks, I received a call from the dealership saying that they wanted to redo the contract because of a mistake, and after I sought an explanation, they attempted to cancel the contract, going so far as sending me a formal letter of cancellation. The contract stated that if they wished to cancel the contract, it had to be done within 10 days, and they even backdated the letter, I believe, to make it appear it was within that period. They eventually backed down here as well and failed to give any kind of explanation at the time.As if this wasn't enough, when I asked for a Carfax report on the vehicle (it was an unwind) they denied a Carfax existed for the vehicle and it wasnt until after I purchased the car that I checked the VIN myself and found out it did!I have been filing complaints with the DMV, Attorney General of California, BBB, and Toyota itself about this experience and I urge anyone else who experiences similarly incompetent or suspicious business practices to do the same. I should also note, that as I understand it, the dealership even lied to the DMV investigator, stating that THEY caught the discrepancy in the monthly payments, not me. Because of my experiences, I have very little faith in the sales and finance teams integrity.My experience resembled that of a dealership that at best is negligent and incompetent, and at worst employs individuals who intentionally attempt to deceive and manipulate customers. There were too many organizational failures (and one or two too many blatant falsehoods) to get much benefit of the doubt. I hope their business practices are audited in the near future so that other customers arent victim of similar events.I would like to lastly note that I sought explanation for these grievances from the dealership multiple times after the fact but did not receive any call back until I began posting reviews. I eventually spoke with the General Manager who finally offered to speak to me and did succeed in relieving a few of my concerns. I very much appreciate this, and this review has been edited to reflect that conversation.

I purchased a new Prius V in 2012 from this dealership and was reasonably pleased with the purchase process. The service department is where this dealership has difficulties. I do believe that their service techs are for the most part very knowledgable and want to help out where ever possible. The one Tech I have worked with goes by the name of "Hi". I have very much enjoyed working with him. The problem is getting through to the service department or getting a message to them. I recently tried several times over a two week period to get a message to "Hi". I finally gave up and actually got in touch with a dealership over the internet in Youngstown, Ohio that was able to point me in the right direction to resolve the Nav system problem I was having. The vehicle simply needs an update to the original Nav System that is unfortunately only available thru the local dealer. I've since made an appointment and hope to have this resolved.The worst part of the experience with this dealership begins with the receptionist (I believe her name is Sandy). She always sounds very abrasive, irritated and generally unwilling to offer much assistance. This dealership has a good product and I'm sure many motivated people in its employ, but does need to improve the impression customers are left with when attempting to contact the service department. The upside of all this is, Toyotas are generally very reliable and don't often require visits to the "service department". Thankfully.

After finding out I did not qualify for their 0 percent intrest. I got a call the next day from hector tellez telling me that I did qualify for 0 percent and to drive down there to do paperwork. When I get there he only talks monthly payments but is reluctant to show meThe contract, just keeps smiling and acting all excited and saying "it's a good deal, it's a good deal" . When I finally ask to see the contract I see that there is 8000 dollars worth of maintenance contracts that he failed to mension. I told him I did not want these extensive maintenance contracts. He assured me I needed them. I assured him I did not. He got angry and said no deal and shredded the contract in front of me. I yelped about my experience and he tried to claim that wasn't him, he ever tried to claim someone snuck into his office and was pretending to be him. He is the most dishonest rudest salesperson I have ever met and would not waste my time with him. I ended up buying a car from the same dealership, but I went online to see what other people were buying the car for and had another salesperson match the price and got my own financing through my bank

After my car was stolen on New Years eve, I was forced into the position of needing to find another car, quickly. I went in to look at a specific used car that didn't end up working out for me. When my satellite receiver was intermittently not receiving a signal, the navigation DVD was sent in for repair or replacement. Danielle Netko in Toyota Service helped me get the DVD replacement disc. When I reported needing to take a trip of 2000 miles and requested help in getting the DVD sooner, Hai Le from parts dept. came up to service to help. He searched his office for a temporary DVD that would function in my Camry SLE. Without the navigation DVD there is no function from the radio, satellite signal, Bluetooth for hands free phone, rear view camera, nor navigation for my upcoming trip. Hai appeared with the DVD and installed it quickly while I waited. In just a few minutes, thanks to great service from Danielle and Hai, I was up and running. All my lost electronic features were back. You have one happy customer. I will not forget your exceptional service. When I need a new car, it will be made and serviced by Toyota.Dr. William Moore

Michael Lampkin just sold us a Toyota Prius V and we love it! We have two young children and a very large dog and we were ready to trade in our minivan for a vehicle with better gas mileage. We already own a Prius and we liked the idea of having a second hybrid. The size of our dog (150 lb) limits what kind of car we can get. We called Toyota in the morning and they told us to bring him in to make sure he fit comfortably in the Prius V. Before going to Toyota we went to Ford and tried several cars. Some of them were a good fit for our dog but we were not happy with the gas mileage and lack of some features like navigation system and backup camera. Plus the salesperson did not seem to understand what our priorities were and kept showing us cars that were not a good fit for us. After a couple of hours we were exhausted and ready to give up. But we gathered the energy to make it to Toyota and luckily for us Michael Lampkin was ready to assist us. He is professional and personable. And he knows his cars. We tried a Prius V and our dog fit in the cargo area! He even seemed to like it very much and decided to rest for a while. I could not believe it. Michael asked us a little more about what we were looking for in the car and pointed us toward a gorgeous black Prius V Five loaded with every single thing we wanted. We love listening to music in the car and were a little tired of having to use the auxiliary input in the old car. We can now stream our favorite music via bluetooth and switch from one phone to another with the touch of a button. The display audio touch-screen is a major improvement from our previous audio system. And it comes with Entune, which allows us to stream from Pandora, do internet searches using Bing, buy tickets through MovieTickets.com and even make reservations to our favorite restaurants with OpenTable. Amazing! That is on top of being able to check traffic, weather, fuel prices and stocks. Michael sat with us and explained it all until we felt comfortable and knew how to use all these great features. He explained how to make the best of our audio system. I will never forget Michael's explanation about how you want to set your Treble/Mid/Bass sound settings to a smiley face pattern in order to get the best sound. By the time we left Toyota Michael had paired both our phones with the car and all our contacts had been synched with it. And with the hands-free phone capability and advanced voice recognition We can safely make a phone call using the talk switch in the steering wheel. Getting to know this car was so much fun. When we thought we had seen it all Michael proceeded to show us how to use the fold-flat passenger seat. You can sleep on it! Just like flying in first class. Unbelievable. Michael surely knows how to show a car. We did not feel pressured to buy. We also had a great experience with the finance team. We were already getting a great deal and still managed to make them drop the price a little more and get some freebies. Buying a car is a long process. Our dog was with us all the time. They even brought him treats to the office while we were signing papers. We are very happy with the car but even happier with our fantastic experience at Toyota. Michael Lampkin made it easy and fun for us. If you are thinking about buying a Toyota in Santa Barbara, make sure to go to Michael Lampkin. He is an outstanding salesperson.

I already liked Toyota as a brand. I went to three dealerships altogether. I felt that at the Toyota of Santa Barbara dealership they were friendlier and able to impart the information I needed in an interesting way. I liked that they didn't snipe about the competition. They talked about their experience and knowledge with Toyota and their own Toyota cars.Michael was charming, friendly and knowledgeable and was helpful on the test drive advising me to try different driving tasks and guiding me to safe places to try out the turning radius, the back-up camera, the acceleration, handling and power. As an aside, I'm a singer and so is Michael and in the way people with things in common just find each other we had a cool moment. I was on crutches because I had sprained my ankle. He said with a smile, "You can lean on me."I sang back, "when you're not strong." And we traded lines back and forth all the way to the car I was to test drive. It was one of those magic moments when you connect with a stranger immediately.I was also helped by Loren Daniels who gave me great information on how the Bluetooth connection worked, got my Pandora station going and then called me from outside the car so I could experience how safely my music paused so I could receive a call. Loren is young and hip and full of fun. He shared how he uses the console's technology to manage his music. It was inspiring and got me excited about what I can do with the technology offered in my new Camry. I have to admit I loved the car more after my tech time in it with Loren. He laughs easily and is easy to spend time with.I came with a checklist of needs and my new Camry fits the bill. Michael and Loren made me feel very welcome to come back and ask questions about the high tech center console. That would be the only thing I might ask about as everything else about my new Camry is intuitive, comfortable and safe.I've bought new cars before and found it an odious chore with game playing in the background. I found my experience at Toyota to be very straightforward. I loved too the efficiency with which their staff arranged to have my new car registered with the DMV and get all the needed paperwork done quickly and efficiently. And I just really enjoyed Michael and Loren. They made my visit to Toyota of Santa Barbara a real pleasure. It was a standout experience compared to the two other dealerships I went to.All I had to do was get in and drive. I'd go to Toyota of Santa Barbara again and I don't mind mentioning my good experience to my friends.

My boyfriend and I went in over the weekend to look at the Tundras available. We originally had a used Tundra in mind, but fell in love with the 2014 Tundra I am pretty sure we test drove every Tundra on the lot, haha. Michael Lampkin helped us through the process, he was very insightful, knowledgeable and patient with us we decided on the vehicle we wanted. My husband and I purchased a FJ cruiser here. When we first reviewed our options we worked with a very helpful salesman, Andy Dobbs. We also spoke with manager Wes Hofer who told us he would do whatever it took to keep the business local. Initially I was looking to travel to L.A. to purchase our Used Toyota Prius. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my local Sanata Barbara Toyota actually was very competitive or beat big city pricing for the car I was looking for. And the Costco dealer.. I usually dislike buying cars due to my past experience with high pressure fast talking car sales persons. Michael Lampkin and the other staff at Santa Barbara Toyota were not like that at all. Michael was more like a partner in helping me to find the car I wanted. He was knowledgeable, professional, and not full of bull. My wife and I bought two identical new Camry Hybrids (even the same color) with Sam Ladd as our sales rep. He was simply outstanding, the best car salesman I have dealt with in my 72 years. Sam's style is low key but effective. He gives thoughtful, informative answers before answering questions and is definitely not high pressure. My wife and I had at least three or four visits with him before deciding on buying Camry Hybrids instead of the Prius Hybrid.In many instances, Sam went out of his way to help us, well beyond the "call of duty". For example, he programmed my car radio stations and made the Blueray connection with my cell phone, something I had never done before. When he learned that we like classical music, he told us about a station, KUSC, that displays the name of the current music being played on our radio display console. (I wasn't even aware of this station, not to mention this great feature.)In summary, having Sam as our salesman was an excellent experience. I highly recommend him without reservations.Incidentally, the reason that I am not using the standard Toyota 3rd party survey form is that after my wife and I only received one form by e-mail. After she submitted the form for her car, I couldn't submit my form because the web site indicated that the form had already been submitted. Apparently, the site could not accommodate the double purchase..

We recently bought a new Toyota Avalon hybrid from Toyota of Santa Barbara after thinking we were going to avoid haggling and hassle at a dealership by using one of the online services. At Toyota of Santa Barbara we met Sam Ladd who listened carefully and politely to our questions and then arranged for us to test-drive the Camry hybrid and the Avalon hybrid. He explained everything to us in great detail, never trying to pressure us or rush us into a decision. We eventually decided to buy the Avalon, but were not able to find a color we liked. After a period of time, Sam called us about a recently arrived Avalon in a color we liked. At this time we still thought we would use the internet, but Sam helped us through the final stages of decision-making and encouraged us to make an offer. We offered a price comparable with "true value" prices at several web sites and it was quickly accepted by the sales mananger. There was no haggling over the price, which we thought was quite fair. We also got a trade-in price on our old car that was acceptable--again with no haggling. Sam Ladd is a quite unusual car salesman: intelligent, well-informed, low-key, polite, and patient. We also were pleased with John Carlisle, the sales manager, who closed the deal quickly and with no haggling. We recommend both these men to anyone thinking of buying a car.

An exceptional experience! Toyota of Santa Barbara had the car we had search high and low to find and at a price that we could afford. Our buying experience was hassle-free and all of the staff was very helpful and friendly. We were in and out of the dealership with our new car within 2 hours. The parts person i spoke with was not helpful at all he could not tell me any think on how to remove the mirror and he also said that he could not bring up a diagram of the door panel that was hard to believe also.Very poor service I'll call a parts store from now on.

I have had less than amazing experiences when it comes to car dealerships. Toyota of Santa Barbara proved me wrong. I got 5 star service throughout my experience there. David gave me the best rate possible and was very accommodating with his recommendations of vehicles. Similarly Mikey was friendly, honest, and a pleasure to deal with. Needless to say the two of them reaffirmed my faith in car dealers to be honest, fair, and provide friendly service to anyone looking to buy or lease a car. I went to Toyota of Santa Barbara looking for a car for my daughter. The salesman was great he showed me the car and all of the features. What really sold me the car was when the sales manager Wes Hofer came out and offered me a deal I couldn't refuse without alot of hassle and haggle. Having never been to a dealership,my expectations were not pleasant from what i have heared about dealing with car salesmen. I dont know if it was my lucky day but Frank (francisco) set a very high standard for the rest of the car salesmen i deal with. His knowledge of the vehicles was phenomenal but most importantly his knowledge of his customers needs was on point; before i could think of my question Frank was already a step a head in highlighting what i wanted to know. He is very aware of providing quality customer service...i asked to look at 5different vehicles...frank never took any short cuts in presenting each vehicle attributes and pointing out the difference in each vehicle. With all the questions i had....Frank was very patient and never seemed to overwhelm me...even after showing me all the vehicleshe was kind enough to take some time and introduce me to his sales manager Mr Carlise,with no pressure on having to close the deal. Reliable new car salesman sounds like an oxymoron, but in the case of Sam Ladd, it is the real deal. Prior to buying our new Toyota Prius, my husband and I had purchased six other new cars. None of the first six experiences was especially pleasant. Working with Sam Ladd was truly a pleasure. Not only is he knowledgeable, but he anticipates and welcomes questions, answering each very thoroughly. After all these years I was ready for a new car and decided I wanted a Hybrid. I had a 2004 Toyota Prius, and always had it serviced at this dealership. They have a nice waiting room with wide screen TV, and donuts and coffee in the morning. If my car is getting a short service, I prefer to sit there and wait. I decided to trade in my old Prius for a new one a few weeks ago. Knowing the integrity and friendliness of the dealership, I went there for my purchase. I had done all my "homework" and knew what I wanted and had the proper information with me, so things went really smoothly. Toyota of Santa Barbara also honors Costco members, so I got a good deal on my new car. I had a very nice salesman, Leonard Lallier, who went over everything with me, and I was happy to have a hassle free experience! No stress or issues, it was as much a pleasure to buy my 2012 Prius there as it is to get it serviced there.

We had been trying to get a loan for another car for three weeks and had just got declined when after that we went to this dealership. Upon filling out the credit application they got me into the vehicle of my dreams, a prius. They showed me all the features and how it worked too since it was not like most cars. They were all very friendly to me and my partner. It seemed to that the price negotiator really fought to get me a good rate and an and a good price on the car. Overall it was a great experience.

I am absolutely impressed with the customer service of Toyota of Santa Barbara. I do not consider myself an easy sell - I'm indecisive, picky and when I see what I want, I have a hard time swaying from that for other options. I also did not plan to spend a lot of money. The owner, Mike, was extremely accommodating and went out of his way to find the exact color that I specified, of which there are less than 1% available. My 2011 Prius 4 is absolutely beautiful with all the extras and Mike got me the best deal he could - in fact, I'm pretty sure he didn't make much off of the sale - but he went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable with my purchase and would not experience 'Buyer's remorse'. Robert, the sales man who helped me, was one of the friendliest, sweetest car salesmen I have encountered. I would absolutely buy from him again. Almost everyone at Toyota of Santa Barbara is extremely friendly - not pushy at all. I highly recommend this dealer to anyone! I am the PROUD OWNER OF A 2011 PRIUS 4 and now get 50 miles to the gallon.

This is by far the worst Toyota dealership out there. Their service department is an absolute nightmare. I kid you not every time I have had to bring my truck in I have had an issue. Just try to make an appointment, I dare you. It's so frustrating because I purchased my Toyota based on how great I had heard the dealerships were to work with. I even purchased a prepaid maintenance program with them which I am completely regretting now, based on the fact I have to bring it in to them for every service. They have the poorest customer service, in complaining I actually received a response from a manager "well if you have had so many problem with us why do you bring it in here?"! My response was my truck is under warranty and I need something faulty fixed, as well as the fact I spent thousands of dollars on a prepaid maintenance program. His response involved nothing about, "I'm so sorry you feel that way", "we will try better next time". I've had to complain to Toyota headquarters multiple times.

Our recent [7/22/2011] experience was very amiable and not unpleasant at all when we made a new auto purchase at Toyota of Santa Barbara.Much of the negotiation was done by email and the salesman, David O'Dwyer, helped make the experience much less of an ordeal than one usually has. He had the answers to any relevant questions and was not "high pressure" in his attitude. We received what I believe was a fair price, though one never knows for sure when price bargaining with a car dealership.The service/repair staff during the 1k mile courtesy check were also very efficient and pleasant to deal with.

Mr Le went far beyond an extra step. He was great. The right side mirror on my 1995 Toyota small pick-up truck was broken (probably in a parking lot) and would not stay in place. I was afraid the service dept. would just say the truck was too old and the part was not available. But no, the service dept. sent me to the parts dept. and Mr. Le took over. He searched the part on the computer, went out to the truck to make sure it was the correct part, showed me how to install it when it came in, ordered it, and told me I would get a call when it came in - probably the next day. True to his word, it came in the next day. I was able to install it myself (I'm a 66 year old woman college professor) and it was perfect. All-in-all he probably spent over 45 minutes with me for a low priced part. We bought the truck from this dealership over 15 years ago and the truck is still running strong (great product). When it comes time to purchase another vehicle, we will definitely consider Toyota and go to this dealership!

I came for my regular service last week and normally my experience is neutral, neither good nor bad. I really just wanted to point out what positive hard working employees Bonnie and Brianna are. They truly gave me excellent customer service. Bonnie answered ALL of my questionseven before I asked them. Bonnie walked me down to the cashier's window and really took time to review my paperwork with me, which allowed me to feel confident that I knew what I was spending my money on. Brianna helped me at the cashier's window. She was really authentic when she asked how my day was going. She was very friendly throughout the transaction. I went out to get my car and I was looking around for someone to retrieve my car. It didn't take long before Brianna was talking to a service writer and noticed my car hadn't been pulled up. To my surprise, she went and got my car for me and pulled it up! Great job! True customer service!

On Sunday, June 26th, while driving to Santa Barbara from Stockton we experienced a catastrophic engine failure (2 rods through the block) in our 4Runner. Can you Toyota owners believe it? I am still shocked some 13 days after the fact. We got a ride from Pismo to Goleta on a slideback and I was at the dealership bright and early Monday to assess the damage and determine options and course of action. Even though we were from out of town and knew not a soul at the dealership, everyone we dealt with from Monday through Friday was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and understanding of our needs and situation. I would specifically like to recognize Bonnie and Kristy (service advisors), Tom (parts) and Jim (service technician) who was assigned the job of a total engine replacement. To make a long story short, by Friday morning (July 1st), we were saying goodbye to our new friends at the dealership and heading home, a trip that proved to be uneventful. I would like to close by thanking everyone that was so gracious and helpful to us in making an extremely difficult situation come to a successful conclusion. Our Toyota Corolla's battery had become old and gave up on the weekend when we left the lights on and it could not be recharged. We needed the car for a Sunday commitment. We called Hai Le who had sold us the car many years ago and he very generously opened up store to sell us a battery and he went with us to install it correctly. I took my prius in for regular 5000 mile service as usual, and suddenly told I needed new brakes AND rotors. I had never even been told I was getting low on my brakes. I questioned them and was referred to the manager (person above) and told, this sometimes happens. She was condescending and had me waiting while she chatted with another employee. I proceeded to take my prius to 2 other establishments which said my brakes were fine. I took it back to this dealer for another routine service, and told "everything was fine". So, either no one checked my brakes, as was outlined in service to be performed, or the brakes were fine in the first place. I just got a coupon from the dealer where I purchased the vehicle which is quite a bit further drive for me and the same services are $49 for what I pay $79 at the usual dealer, mentioned above. I think it will be worth it for me to drive a bit further!!!

My visit to Santa Barbara Toyota was originally for service to replace license plate lights & lenses. I went to the Parts Dept to preorder the parts and was assisted by Hai Le. He took the extra step to go out and check my car to insure the correct parts were ordered. Hai noticed one of the lens was jammed up into the bumper, and took the time to repair it himself. I had been shopping around dealerships for a truck when I walked in to toyota. Vidal Cazares was my salesperson. I let him know what type I was interested in and he never tried to steer me away from it;however he did explain the features of the other trucks. Vidal is very knowledgeable and helpful. When I let him know I was not quite ready to purchase he did not pressure me into making a decision. He told me to take my time. His concern was to make sure I drove off with the vehicle I was looking for. Eventually I returned to the dealership and Vidal had the truck transferred in from another dealer. I leased my car from this dealership three years ago and it was time to either trade in or purchase it. We went in looking for a used car for purchase and found a great deal for the lease. I've never wanted to leave or been comfortable with a lease. The clearly explained the closed ended lease (set purchase price in 3 yrs). We were very pleased with the transaction. We got more car for a better deal then any used vehicle. They listened to my needs & previous car history to find the best fit for us. We would return there first if ever in need of another car. Especially to see John Carlisle or David Zuniga our sales agents. Also we would strongly recommend either John or David to anyone interested in a new or used car. He also obtained availability of various combinations of options for the truck I was interested in, and when the sale was completed, delivered the truck to my house 100 miles away. After seeing the vehicle online, I called and spoke with Hector. He invited me to come see the car--he would have it ready for me. Upon arriving, the car was in the front lot ready to go. After the test drive, he helped me with my trade-in and gave me a great price on my 'new' car. He even pointed out how I could save money on financing. He was helpful & friendly, but not pushy. Went to get a new car. Didn't come with everything it was supposed to. When we asked for a refund on the items missing we were made fun of like we were poor and were making a big deal out of a small amount of money. We were told to basically shut up and be happy we got a good deal on the truck. we were even asked by the salesgirl if we wanted to not take the truck over the equipment not provided. When we got home, more items were missing. When we called about that, my son was accused of lying. This dealership gives car salesmen a bad name. I will never by a Toyota and if I break down and do so it will never be from this dealership.

I made it very clear before I set foot in the door. I had been in "text" conversations with David letting him know exactly what I want, what I expected on my trade in, and what I was willing to pay. We bought a 2010 Prius II in December 09, and we had a good experience. Our salesmen were Juan Beltran and Farrell Odendhal. At first, we tried going through the Costco Auto Buying program, but the price quoted to us was too high. Without using the program, Farrell gave us a price that we were comfortable with after we told him what our expectations were, and Juan went out of his way to get us the exact car, color, and package that we wanted. Juan was very friendly and informative, especially when we first took a test drive. We didnt feel pressured to buy, although we did feel as if they did initially try hard to get us to buy at a higher price and purchase one of the cars on the lot at the time (not what we wanted) using standard sales techniques. That is their job though, after all, so we were able to look past that. This was our first new car buying experience, so we dont have anything to compare to, but our experience was pretty much what we envisioned it would be. We brought our car home on the same day that we went into the dealer. Quite unexpected, as we were expecting a long wait time for the car we wanted to be ordered.The day after we brought our Prius home, we did encounter one hiccup. We were being driven crazy by the dreaded constant reverse beep and wanted to get it changed to a single beep. For the 2010 model, this has to be done by the dealer. We found they wanted to charge us $110 to change a setting. But we spoke to Kurt Dohy, the customer relations manager. He comped the charge for us, agreeing to change the setting for free, and proved to us that this dealership cares about making you happy and satisfying the customer.Overall, we had a good experience, and we would recommend buying a new car here, especially if you want to support local businesses.

I got an interior repair and car was returned to me full of ash from local fire. the window had been left open over night. the service guy rubbed the ash into the cream leather interior and tried to send me home. when I complained, management at the dealer where quick to become defensive and claim they had done nothing wrong. no apology! Once I showed up to the dealership, I was greeted and brought water and didn't feel pressured to make any huge decisions like I have in the past at other dealerships. Conrad made me feel calm and collected and showed me numerous cars without making me feel bad for working so hard for me. My overall experience was great because when I left the dealership, I was happy with the service, the experience with everyone in the office, the condition of my used car, and the price. I would highly recommend this dealership and especially the dealer, Conrad Brooks, because of the service I received when I was there.

I have purchased cars from Hai before and will continue to do so. I went through several choices of cars before deciding on which one to purchase and Hai never tired of getting me information that I requested. When I finally chose the car and model I wanted, he spent a long time trying to find it. After purchasing the car, he followed up on every detail, even helping me install car seat covers I purchased elsewhere. I have his cell phone and email and can ALWAYS reach him with a question or problem. If you are going to buy a toyota (and you are nuts if you dont), buy from him.

After dealing with other dealerships in the central California area I recieved the best response from Toyota of Santa Barbara ie, Conrad Brooks and Wes Hoser. These two gentlemen were extremely professinal and worked as hard as anyone I have ever dealt with to find me the vehicle that I wanted. They hustled to get me the one and only vehicle that was available in the central and southern California regions and because of their great help I got the exact vehicle in the color I wanted and with all of the options and accessories I was looking for. And above all I was very satisfied with the price I got. Because of Conrad and Wes, Toyota of Santa Barbara for all intents and purposes has gained a lifetime customer.

I had a great experience with Sid. he took me out for a test drive...even to my house so that i could make sure the car did not bottom out in my driveway which is steep. He was informative and professional. Answered all my questions honestly. I needed to transfer money to pay for the car, and they filled out the paperwork and gave me the flexibility to pay in full in two days. Then when i came to get the car, it was washed, full of gas and we went for another drive to make sure I handled the car without difficultly. They even programmed my bluetooth so I could use my cell phone right away. I was introduced to the service staff and customer service rep, where to bring my car when it is time for service. Everyone was friendly on the three different occasions that I came in...best of all I love my new Prius!Katina Etsell

We first bought a Sequoia there, IN OUR HOMETOWN! This was after purchasing a used Sequoia from an out of town dealer, thinking that a dealer in Santa Barbara would charge more. Were we wrong! Hai Le beat the used Sequoia price with a new Sequoia, plus extras and a better deal on the extended warranty we wanted. Plus, it was so incredibly low pressure. Everyone seemed like our friend, or even like family.So when the gas crunch hit, we thought for a year about the Prius. We are obviously careful consumers, but did not hesitate to go to Hai Le again. And we weren't disappointed. We got our price, again without any pressure. Everyone was happy and laughing. I now think it is so fun to buy a car. I certainly never thought so before meeting Hai Le and his team at Toyota of Santa Barbara! You won't be disappointed either!

Very Impressed and happy. From the moment I spoke to Sid on the phone, to the final handshake goodbye in my new 2009 Toyota Sienna, Sid was as friendly and professional as I could have hoped for. Not only did I end up with the EXACT car I wanted, Sid did everything to keep me involved with the process AND showed me some vehicle options that would actually SAVE me money, but he wanted me to see what was available before making such a big purchase. I appreciated that. The rest of the sales team was very friendly and great to work with. As a director of a transit agaency, I highly recommend working with Toyota of Santa Barbara. Just had a bad experience with Toyota of Santa Barbara. I tried to buy some parts ( O-rings , nothing fancy ) from them and was quoted a price that was more than 100 percent markup over their cost! I don't mind paying a fair price for something but paying that much just because the dealership is greedy? No way!!!!! The guy on the phone acknowledged the markup. My advice is to buy your parts elsewhere so as not to get taken to the cleaners. They must think their customers are stupid. I for one am tired of getting gouged by businesses here in Santa Barbara. Business owners think that just because we live here, we can afford to pay more - a lot more than the average consumer. Well, Toyota of Santa Barbara, think again. You are the reason we citizens of this beautiful city drive the extra distance to other locations to purchase just about everything elsewhere.

My lease was up for the Sienna I have been driving for the last 3 years and so I found myself "car shopping again." Needless to say, not too many people enjoy this process. It is due in part to the overwhelming choices one has to make, coupled with the often pressured attempts by under informed yet overly zealous salesman. I experienced this at all of the 8 different dealerships I went to, that is, with the exception of Toyota of Santa Barbara. There I was introduced to Sean who, while fairly new at the game, was very professional without being too gung-ho about it all. He knew much about the cars we were looking at, but not everything. What made the difference for me though, was that he was upfront about it as opposed to trying to bluff his way through it. He gained my trust in doing so. While I ended up not getting another Toyota this time around, I would like to express my gratitude to Sean for all his help and recommend him to anyone who is looking for a genuine salesman (and I mean that in a good way) and an enjoyable car buying experience.Cindy HannSanta Barbara

Thank you Toyota of Santa Barbara! Salesman Chris Thomas, who is also the internet manager, and the rest of the staff treated us very well during the purchase of our new car. They were respectful, patient, and straightforward. At first we attempted to work with our hometown dealer, however one of the comments made on Dealerrater proved to be very true. After returning home disappointed from our hometown dealer, we decided to call Toyota of Santa Barbara due to information we had found on their excellent website. The deal we made on the phone was substantially better than the other dealer, and the treatment we received resulted in a very pleasant experience. I recommend Chris Thomas and Toyota of Santa Barbara without reservation!

My husband and I came in to compare the Tundra to the Tacoma as we have a 16 year old daughter involved in equestrian activities. Zegory detailed out each vehicle and helped us decide which features were best appropriate for our needs. He was respectful of our needs and pricepoint. I have been in sales for over 10yrs and it was nice to see a sales person that actually listened. We have not made a decison at this point but if we do decide on Toyota we will undoubtedly purchase from your dealership.

Will was great to work with. Very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate me.It was frustrating trying to figure out which car would work for me with my specific issues, especially when Highlander Limiteds were rarely on the lot. The biggest frustration was to finally decide on a car only to find out that the wheels are hard to come by and only last 20,000 miles.

I recommend this dealership simply for the quality of one of its employees - Will Graves. An honest car salesman seems like an oxymoron, but he was not only honest but kind. It was fun to take test drives of the Sienna and Prius with him. He was knowledgeable but also did not try to be a know it all - he admitted when he didn't know something and found the correct information. I sincerely wanted to buy a car from him because I felt that with his solid customer service, he deserved the commission. If you are curious about a Toyota and live in the Santa Barbara area, seek him out.

I visited Santa Barbara Toyota to possibly trade in my Ford pick up truck for a new Toyota Tacoma.The management team were friendly and Will Graves answered all my questions very well and he is a good man. He then offered me a ride on the new Toyota which was a good experience and gave me a chance to compare the drive with my Ford.Overall Will Graves provided me with a very good experience about Toyota and my plan is to go back and take a look at a white or black Tacoma when they get it in the dealership.
