Went there with little hope of getting anything because i have been turned down before. Ended up meeting an amazing person in Clayton Cross. He really listened to me and cared about my situation. I felt like he put me first and the sale second. He was able to get me into a car that I love and most importantly, afford. This is the first dealer in 30 + years of car buying that makes you go in the building before you even get to see the vehicle you were there to see. So like a typical high pressure sales place we can't even get out of the truck before a sales guy is standing behind me like meat in a lions cage. So we go in and he gives us the deal of how it works. Yea what ever I pre scheduled to see this truck. So I would like to see it. So we wait and he brings over a sales manager and he gives us the same lines about the Internet setting the prices and its the lowest they can go etc. So he sends the other guy out to get the car while I'm on my IPad fact checking what he told me on the Forever warranty. Then he comes back maybe 10 minutes later with a story that the used car manager took it home . We drove from PA to see this truck I scheduled a visit for today and the truck isn't here. I kinda figured there would be some issues after they were trying to pressure me into putting money down on the truck before I even came in to see it. Thanks but no thanks. I will email them a picture of the truck I buy and the happy salesman or woman who sells it to me.

I went the to buy a car with a co signer. When I cam time to sign the papers I found out I was the co signer and the car not even in my name. The offer a warranty witch I didn't want but they didn't listen to me they put it on the cause the buyer witch was suppose to be a co signer wanted it so now my payment is 50 dollars more and I have to pay for a car that's not in my name and this dam warranty I didn't want. So if u want to buy someone else a car this is a good place to go.

Clayton Cross treated me like I was part of the family.He even went the extra mile to get me more for my trade so i could purchase my new CHEVY TRAX. My wife and daughter just hate when we have to go to get a new car because its always the same routine, try and make a deal with the salesman and when the numbers are not right for us they have to get the sales manager to come over to satisfy us and close the deal,NOT HERE,Clayton worked with us to get the car we wanted at the price we wanted to pay.There was never any pressure at all and we worked out a deal that made us all happy and got the car we wanted that day. Highly recommend! I was in and out of the dealership within hours, on my first visit, and drove home in my brand new Chevy Trax. I left with a better finance rate than my credit union could offer, a higher trade in value on my vehicle and with a lower sticker price than my home town dealers would give. My salesman, Vincent "Vinny" McCord, was friendly, professional, polite and made the whole experience a plus. I will 100% go back to VanDevere for my next vehicle even though they are a two hour ride each way from where I live. Totally worth it!!

We are entirely happy with the actual car, and the price was fantastic! The reason for the poor review is the amount of time it took to get in to sign the papers with one finance person working on a busy Monday night and specifically asking to deal with a specific lender and the dealership running credit from numerous banks which now causes more time to be wasted having those inquiries removed from my credit bureaus and extra aggravation. Very unprofessional.

Bought a 2016 Silverado on 7/2/2016 went throw there car wash on 7/4/2016 and it scratched the paint and it doesn't do a very good job the carwash isn't automated you have to drive your car throw it but the sales staff was great mr Lewis was on top of things

Hi my name is Rachell. I recently purchased a 2012 Jeep Liberty Arctic Edition. Believe me I did not wake up that morning with the intention to make a vehicle purchase. I got a text from the dealership stating interest in purchasing my 2007 Jeep Liberty, which I had been very happy with owning. I replied that I might consider trading it in on a newer model if they had one in stock. I was sent a link to the only 2012 that was in stock immediately. After looking over the information on the web I made an appointment for the same day. Upon arrival I was surprised to see a very busy dealership. Jay Mowrer was my salesman. He was very knowledgeable, took time to get to know me and what my expectations were as a interested buyer. The 2012 Jeep was better than I expected and we had a good test drive. I will say I was there an awfully long time but the staff made sure I was comfortable and kept me informed as to our progress in making the purchase. The tour of the dealership was impressive and Keith in the finance area was great to work with. He was very meticulous in explaining the paper work and buyer options. I did drive away as very happy customer with my 2012 Jeep Liberty. Would definitely recommend this dealership to friends and family

I didn't realize that its been so long since I have bought a new car. I usually by a car 3 or more years old so that I have affordable payments to make. The problem with that is having to put a lot of money into them as they run up miles and age.. I decided to lease a new car, since I am used to making monthly payments for years, and the idea intruiged me, of having no repairs the pay for, free car washes, and low monthly payments. A good friend recommended "The Van Devere Bunch ", and particularly Rich Borodkin. He did an excellent job of explaining the in's & out's of leasing, and the costs involved, and what happens at the end of the lease. I recommned him to anyone wishing to buy or lease a new car. Called about an advertised deal and was assured they had 3 vehicles available. Drove 60 miles only to drive and fall in love with the vehicle I was interested in. Waited for paperwork only to be told they didnt have car that was advertised but for $85 more a month I could get the car I drove. Liars and fakes...the service manager said that "87% of people that come in don't drive away in the car they came in for" YEAH...YOU DON'T HAVE THAT CAR!!

I went to trade my 2011 Chevy for a newer vehicle. The female introduced me to Kenny Richardson he was very nice but he bull crapped me for 4hrs. I told him I only wanted to pay 500- 800 down pay 200 a month no more than that. He and the credit officer ran my credit report 33 times. Overkill is a understatement, my credit was 669 imagine what it is now. This is the West market location, do not fill out application with your social until you are given all the facts. Clean facility everyone is nice however they owe me an apology and a letter to the 3 credit bureau explaining the abuse of my credit score. I tried to indicate how disappointed I am by selecting 1 star for each question but application acting up

We actually leased two vehicles through VanDevere last week. Mike Merrill took AMAZING care of us and our two kids. He took the time to show us a couple of options and discuss all the questions that we had! The paperwork took a little long but it was because they were busy, which generally means they are doing a good job. Joe & Keith in the finance office explained everything about our leases and made sure we felt comfortable about signing everything. From there Mike came back out and made sure to set up our phones, OnStar and all the bells and whistles on our new cars. Overall I would recommend VanDevere and Mike Merilll if you are looking for a new or used vehicle!

Went at 3 in the afternoon on a Friday just to look at a new Silverado that was advertised at a low low price. It was in stock, and I did a test drive. I knew this was" the one "after the test drive. And the Ad price was real. Trade in given was more than other dealers, and overall the deal beat other dealers by at least $2000. Manager , F&I manager, porters, and the salesman stayed way past closing to make it all happen. Having travelled a distance and in snowy weather, I appreciate that. I purchased the truck for a specific purpose, and it is working out well.

My sales person was Ashley Johnson at the Vandevere Chevrolet dealership, and she is a remarkable lady. I went in looking for a Jeep Grand Cherokee that I saw online, and she told me that it had sold and was delivered the day before. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I went home and started looking online again, and saw a Jeep Liberty at Vandevere Kia. I contacted Ashley, and she offered to have that Jeep Liberty brought to the Chevy dealership, or would have met me at the Vandevere Kia dealership, so I could see it and test drive it. She has a very energetic, knowledgeable, pleasant attitude, which makes it so much easier to buy a used vehicle. After arrival at the Chevy dealership, we took the Jeep Liberty out for a test drive, and upon return from the test drive, I went in and bought that Jeep Liberty on the spot. Ashley played a huge part in my decision, because I felt that she knew what she was talking about, was friendly and helpful, and she was just so comfortable to talk to. Vandevere has some incredible features such as the car washes for life and the forever warranty. By all means, go to Vandevere before going to any other dealership. You won't be sorry.

We went to VanDevere looking for a car and not knowing any salesmen. We were lucky that we got Jay Mowrer . He took his time with us even though there were others looking at cars. After a horrible experience just up the road from Vandemere (Arlington Road location by RT. 77), I bought an Escalade from young salesman Joe with no problems at all! Joe (being semi new to this game) was tremendously knowledgeable about the truck I was looking at. He gave us several other options as well, trying to make sure that we would be happy with our buy, and make sure it fit our needs! The other sales staff was extremely helpful with financing and many other areas as well! Granted, we had just walked out of a very bad experience, the staff at Vandemere wasn't pushy at all and in fact went out of their way to help! After our experience there, we talked to several other friends that have dealt with Vandever and they said the exact same thing! We Purchased a 2008 Dodge Caliber in 2009 with 9,000 miles on it. We were told about the Warranty forever which we really didn't know how this would work out down the road. We live about 40 minutes from Vandevere Buick in Akron ,Ohio. We kept up with the schedule maintenance and FOLLOWED BY THE BOOK .Its nice because they help you stay on trac. The car now has 275,000 miles and finally it was time for a transmission, which is covered 100% by the warranty forever. Cost about 3,000 dollars. . there were a few other minor things that were also covered thru the Warranty forever. We kept up with tune ups ,Oil changes cabin filter,etc.The engine is smooth running and quite as well..Working with Janet, John and Jerry and others at the service department has been great to say the least.. The sales personnel is also friendly and helpful. I definitely would buy a vehicle from the Vandevere Group. The overall experience has been awesome!! . By the way the newer transmission will continue to be covered under the warranty forever as long as we own the car even with 275,000 miles and beyond,!!! . Debbie , Massillon,ohio

okay, admittedly, car buying is stressful. but here, at my 4th dealership stop, the only hard part, was actually giving them all the necessary money once we knew that we wanted the vehicle. we had an appointment, jay mowrer, met me at the door and had the 2007 jeep wrangler rubicon, i was interested in front of the store ready to go. it had enough gas for a test drive. he was agreeable to go where i needed (had to pick up my son as the car was really for him) and showed us the advantages of the jeep on the test drive. he stayed after closing discussing it with us and arranged for us (with a small hold payment) to have it overnight so that we could get our mechanic to check it out. he even gave me his personal number for contacting him if there were any concerns. and, before the deal was finished i had actually used it several times. the jeep checked out as a gem and we closed the deal with a gentleman who was careful to dot the i's and cross all t's carefully, i think his name was, pat, i am afraid i forget i was the stressful part. there was a few minor touch ups which van devere agreed to do that i returned for within the week and jeremiah nichols in the service department, and jay also helped me figure out how to get the soft top loose above the door. finally, jay, personally printed off an owners manual for us as our jeep was missing one. and as this jeep was for my son, and he realized how much i liked it, quickly mentioned he'd found several jeeps for me if i were interested! i can only say, i'll be back. we paid off the jeep cash when we bought it, but accidentially wrote a portion of the amount due on an old checkbook from a closed account. when bob discovered the returned check and problem, he called and was very nice about the mistake which i promptly fixed the next morning. we have had the jeep for a couple of weeks now, and couldn't be happier if it were brand new. it awesome. all in all, a pretty great group of guys, particularly, jay, who kept things moving in the right direction. as a last note, we were even invited to a steak dinner, but, because we were out cruising in the jeep, we missed it!

I went there to buy a truck talked to them on the phone told them what truck and that I was very interested , they asked me what time I could be there , so I told them , and when I got to the dealership they sold it as I was walking in , so they told me they would locate another and get it for , so I said that is fine keep in touch and let me know how it is going.so a week went by and I called up and asked how it was going, they told me they were working on a deal to get it , I said ok let me know , a couple days later they called and said we are still working on getting it I said ok could you let me know how it is going tomorrow, they said yes , well that was last Tuesday so I guess they didn't really care to sell a truck , so I went elsewhere this weekend and got one.

I do have a low credit score and Jonathan Bird (salesman) and the finance people worked very hard to get me into a new car. After my last new car purchase in 2013, where i let myself get the shaft, this was a very pleasant experience. We got our truck towed there because we were told it was the closest GM repair facility and we had to. NO only were the service writers unknowledgeable and bad at follow through I ended up having to do half the repairs my self when I got the truck home. When I called to complain to the service manager he was condescending and told me would call me back. I never received a call after a week then called back myself to find out he was gone for an undetermined amount of time and if I wouldn't have called no one would have called me. I understand there are emergencies but to leave us hanging was not acceptable. When I called back to talk to someone about him he was worse than Jim. Travis called me a liar and told me I was being unreasonable about the whole situation then hung up on me. I will never go back there again!

I am a retired disabled older man with very specific needs and wants that's was searching for information on the internet, after a week of reading reviews I decided to contact VanDever's website for the information but could not get the answers I wanted so I made a appointment to go to the dealership on a snowy cold Saturday, Alex Louy walked out the door in 10 degree weather and waited till I got out of my truck and greeted me warmly and stood with me while I asked the questions I wanted, he could not answer them so he invited me inside then it happened, I somehow went from trying to get information to test driving a new truck so even though I wasn't in the market to get a new truck just yet I decided to see if they could meet my needs and wants, the first truck would not work for me but the second one was perfect, They wanted me to take delivery of the truck that night but I said no because I had already learned about third party approval and would not go thru that again so I went back on Monday only to be told I could not get the truck for reasons I still don't understand because there was only $4000.00 difference between the one I got and the one I wanted. Since I could not get what I wanted I told all involved the 5 things I wanted and that the one option would be a deal breaker if it was not in the truck, I was very very specific in exactly what I wanted in the deal breaker and was insured it was in the truck and after test driving the truck 2 times I keep asking if it was on it and I was showed it was there by the window sticker as being installed, at 730 pm after being there a few hours I was very tired and needed my medications and told Alex to please get my keys to my truck and let me go home and sleep on it then the new car salesman came over and started overcoming my reasons for leavening, he even pointed out on the board that only one car had gone out that day and needed to close this deal so the pressure was on and I ended up signing, when Alex introduced me to all the features of my new truck it was only then I discovered it did not in fact have the one option I had been very specific on, being very tired and 3 hours past my medication I left and came back the next morning to discuss my problem with the new car sales manager and to exercise there 3 day trade policy only to be told there was nothing they could or would do, I followed up by calling and leaving a message on the owners voicemail and he never returned my call, I called GM's customer service and filed a complaint and the representative told me I would get a call from the General manager at VanDevere within a few days and I never have received a call from him either, I have made 2 payments so far and not one person has ever contacted me to even discuss my problem, I stopped in and talked with mike and he asked me what he could do and I told him only to find out 2 weeks later that they couldn't/wouldn't do any thing they could do and after following up with GM they told me that even though I was mislead in what I was getting I accepted the vehicle and had to live with it so there 3 day return policy does not apply at least in my case, there 100% customer satisfaction does not apply, the owner and general manager cant be bothered by the customers and no one can take the time to call and at least say I am sorry, bottom line I was cheated big time on my trade, lied on 3 things and mislead in one very important and specific option I fully discussed I needed in a vehicle being told it was in the truck only to find out it wasn't all in the sakes of getting a vehicle out the door that night, I will never ever do business again with VanDever again and it is sad I read all the good reviews it just makes me wonder how I could have been so unlucky, I intend to follow up with BBB and may take further measures. Buying a vehicle over the internet can be a little scary and Mike went above and beyond in answering all my questions. He even filmed an additional video of the van so I could see things not featured in the original video. When the time came for me to pick up the van Mike met me at the airport. The van was exactly as described and featured on their website. Mike also helped hurry the buying process along, as quickly as one can when buying a vehicle, so I could start my drive back to Colorado. i recently brought a 2013 hydandi accent on Feb 9 2015. My sales person made sure i got what i wanted. i was origanlly looked at 2011 Elanca for hydandi. but it had high miles. Sean went out of his way i found a better car with less miles. and cheaper payment then i was paying on my old 2004 nissian sentra. I came into the store knowing exactly what I wanted, Brian greeted me right away and as I told him what I wanted he brought the car right around and I took a test drive. He gave me great details on what the car does and the different features it included. Once we went into the buying process he made me feel very comfortable when it came to purchasing the car at the price I wanted it. After weeks of Internet searching I found the new used vehicle I wanted at VanDevere Chevrolet. After communicating via email with the dealership I was asked to come in to discuss buying with the manager and a salesperson. I was leary due to bad high pressure tactics and false promises that I have experienced at other dealerships. However 5 minutes after arriving at VanDevere I was made to feel at ease by an outstanding salesperson Mark Anderson. His patience and demeanor were always exemplary. I was always treated with respect by everyone at the dearlership. They worked with me until I felt I was getting the best deal possible. It was the best car buying experience I have had in my 40 years of car shopping. The buying experience didn't end after the papers were signed. I was later contacted by Mark and the dealership to thank me and make sure I was happy. I buy a new or used car every 2-4 years, I'll definitely be back again!

I was having a bad day and had an appointment to get my car checked out. Upon arrival, Chris Anderson greeted me and treated me as though he really cared. I sat in the lobby for awhile. During this time 5-6 people at least welcomed me and a few offered a coffee or popcorn. Someone even offered snacks. When everything was done, I was waiting for the bill and Chris said there was no charge and the vehicle is now safe. I had a much better day from that point on. Thank you Van Devere!

I was looking to upgrade to a new (loaded) car but was unsure if this was the time to do it. I was thinking of waiting till next year but my sales associate Vincent McCord made it happen for me. He was informative with the different options and trim packages, and found a perfect car that I couldn't be happier with. I purchased a used vehicle at Vandever a little over a year ago. The sales team was very friendly and accomdating. The showroom was spotless. The car... a total NIGHTMARE! I'm not sure what type of "inspection" they put their cars through but I don't know how mine pasted. In less than a year I've already had to pay out over $1000 in repairs and because I did not get all my repairs done at Vandever service dept due to some emergency services needed after hours, my "lifetime" warranty is void! I would've achieved the same results had I gone to a buy here, pay here lot. Many lessons learned starting with don't shop Vandever!

I went in to test drive the Traverse LTZ and when the saleswoman came out she never introduced herself, never asked my name. We took the car for a test drive and I told her the low fuel light was on before we left the parking lot, she assured me we would be fine. We just got onto the expressway when the entire vehicle sputtered and shut down. Luckily we were in the right lane and I got over otherwise we could have been in a major accident considering I lost power steering and everything. Then had to wait about 15 min for a car lot attendent to bring us gas in 90 degree weather. Not to mention the saleswoman knew nothing about the car. Very bad experience.

The salesman Mike did an excellent job and was the only positive I could say I had about my car buying experience. Between the waiting for my car to be delivered, and the price negotiation, everything took about 10 hours to complete my purchase. It always felt like I was waiting. The sales manager tried to argue with me that the Camaro didn't have an automatic base model which it does the 2LS, which could've been an honest over sight and not trying to get me to buy something I didn't want. I was okay with all of that, my biggest problem came from Finance. That was the worst experience I've had in my life and felt like I was getting scammed. I had to work a 13+ hour shift and it took me about 4 hours to get into the finance department. I think she was trying to take advantage of the fact that I was tired. She went over all the plans and policies like all car companies do, but not once did she mention price or that you were purchasing it. I kept waiting for her to ask if I was wanting them and how much they would cost. She told me how much my monthly payment was and I was thinking that it was higher than what was estimated. She printed a sheet off and stuck it in the middle. When we finally got to it, it had all those warranties and plans "that we went over" for over $2000. I told her I didn't want them and she tried to make me feel stupid like we had already talked about them. She gave me a hassle for trying to take them off. I don't know if that is the company policy or not, but that kind of tactic is horrible and there is no way I would ever employ someone like that. I honestly feel like she tried to steal money from me. My monthly payment is $100 less without all that stuff. I've bought cars before and have had some finance people try to pressure me into getting the plans and I understand that, but I've never had a dealership not make me aware that I was purchasing it and what the price was. I've actually had dealerships tell me, which plans I would definately not need which I appreciated. I wouldn't buy another car from here and definately wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

I recently purchased a 2012 Chevy Colorado Z71. I found it on your web site and was surprised to find one with a crew cab, 5.3L engine and 4WD. I had been looking for one for a long time. It was exactly what I was looking for and I came to you dealership with the stock number I told the salesman, Neil Wallis, that I wanted to see it. The truck was still in a back lot and hadn't been prepped yet. We initiated a deal for it and when I went back 2 days later, I found it to be immaculate, engine compartment, interior and all. Beware of the disclosure at the bottom stating that the price is subject to change. So don't get excited if you find a good deal on their website.

My wife and I had been looking for a 3/4 ton truck to tow a travel trailer . We noticed a 2005 Silverado on VanDevere's web site and went to look at it on Saturday after talking to Ron Bagley. The truck had just been traded in so it had not gone through the reconditioning process yet. We went back on Wednesday and got a better look at the truck. This time we were helped by Jerry Mullins . He answered all our questions and we went for a test drive. We ended up buying the truck and driving it home. Jerry made the whole process enjoyable and pressure free! We have only had the truck two weeks, but we checked 5 stars on the quality of repairs because when we went back the following Saturday to drop off something that went with the vehicle we traded , the battery failed on the Silverado. We were in the right place , because Jerry got busy right away and got the service dept. involved. Less than a hour later we were on our way home , and our truck had a new battery. You just don't find dealerships like this anymore. We highly recommend them!

Really, With my 90 year old mom just wanting to know why this guy caused an overdraft in her checking account. She says she'll never buy another there. If you're like me, you don't ever wake up wanting to go get your car serviced. Today was no different, but when I started up my truck, the noise coming from under the hood was obviously not good. I limped the thing into the vandevere service center over on v odom, thinking I was about to be bent over for the repair. Turns out I was still under warranty with their lifetime product and they were able to get everything turned around for me in just over an hour. Now no noise and full power returned. Bingo.

I drove an hour to come up and look at a very used Jeep Liberty. Sat for 20 minutes waiting for someone to come unlock the key box. The test drive was in a parking lot next door. And the would cut a deal on a Jeep with 261,000, had duct tape holding the front fender together, had at least 1 wheel bearing worn out.. $2600 is what they want. I Offered $2000 then came up to $2200 that was a fair price.. What a JOKE.

My wife and I were just going to shop around at different Dealerships , VanDevere came highly recommended , so this was our first stop. It was cold and windy outside as we started lookind around , after about 3 min. I was ready to get back into our warm car and leave , however Justin walked up introduced himself and began assisting us regardless of the cold weather, and my wife was in the "shopping mode", so she had lots of questions and wanted to look at several vehicles. About 25 degrees and windy Justin stayed right there, answered every question and showed us every type of vehicle we were interested in. I was freezing and my mind was made up we saw the vehicle we were looking for at a very good price. The patience of Justin really had a lot to do with our decision, and we really appreciated the professionalism of the VanDevere staff.

I have bought several new cars at various dealers and I can say without a doubt that i will never buy a car anywhere else. Even though I am probably not the best customer as far as credit, money, etc., I was treated with respect and consideration every step of the way. Victor Moore was helpful, listened to what I wanted and got me a really nice car that suits my needs AND looks good with lots of extras. The amazing thing about it was that when I went in to sign the papers my payment was more than $100 less than quoted. Now where can you beat that???? MY wife and I only went to look/price a mid-size suv, it was very cold outside, so our plan was to shop around at various dealerships.VanDevere was highly recomended by a family friend who had purchased the type of vehicle we were interested in, so this was our first stop.After walking around looking for about 5 minutes and starting to get cold, we were greeted by Justin Harris. He was extremely polite and impressed me because inspite of the temperature (below 22 degrees and windy) he stayed outside, answered every question, and showed us several different types of vehicles we were interested in (as if it were summer time). He never once asked us if we wanted to come indoors to warm up. As long as we were gonna look he was willing to stay outside and assist us. My wife is the shopper and she was in her zone, I on the other hand, was freezing. After about 45 minutes I asked him if we could go inside (my mind was made up, we saw what we were looking for at a very good price and we were going to buy it, with my wife's approval of course. Happy wife means a happy life.) VanDevere worked with us and we purchased exactly what we wanted, it honestly was a very good experience and we have already started recommending this dealership to others. The only problem was that it took so long. We arrived there at about 10 a.m. and left around 3:30 p.m. However everyone we spoke to about this did appologize, and offered us something to eat, I don't know why it took so long. That was the only grueling part, we don't plan on experiencing that again. My wife and I jointly agreed if not for Justin Harris we would'nt have purchased a vehicle.

A friend of mine recommended I check out Van DeVeere for my new car because he had such a wonderful experience there. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by very pleasant faces. As soon as I met Bryan Buchanan I knew my experience would be a nice one. He was extremely helpful and patient. He really made me feel like his best friend! I did not purchase a vehicle however, Bryan and Don Brady tried all they could to make it work for me. When it was time for me to leave, Bryan and I had such a great connection a hand shake wouldn't cut it, I had to give him a hug! I recommend this dealership, and Bryan Buchanan specifically to all!

I live in Columbus and talked to Brandon Greene before I even made the trip up there. He was very helpful in describing the Avalanche to me and answering all my questions. Once I got there the truck was ready for me to go for a test drive. There was no hard sales or pressure at all. He stuck around for almost 2 hours past closing while the paperwork was being prepared for me. He was very friendly and open. We even kept him from his own dinner with his wife and kids. Sorry about that Brandon. I would gladly do business with him again. (And I love my 07 Avalanche).

I was looking for a car that meet my price range, had a warranty, and new all-weather tires. I found it on VanDevere's website, plus was able to check out the car fax report. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Borodkin, Sales Mgr. who was very friendly and professional. He had the 2007 Chevy pulled out for me when I arrived after I had talked with him by phone. We took it out for a test drive, and I was sold, it was exactly what I was looking for. I live in Bedford, and it would have been easier to have bought a car on the Bedford Auto Mile, but I wasn't as impressed with those auto dealers or salesmen as I was with VanDevere and Mr. Borodkin. I wish VanDevere would open a dealership in Cuyahoga county near Cleveland, but until they do, I'll go to VanDevere in Akron.

Overall great experience! I purchased a 2005 Blazer. The car was as described with absolutely no surprises. I drove down from Cleveland and was very impressed with how well I was treated and how clean the dealership was. Greg was my salesmen and did not pressure me at all. After having tough luck just getting a test drive at a Honda dealership in Bedford, I ventured to Vandevere Chevy in Akron, OH to get a look at a Chevy Sonic and Cruze. I spoke with Greg on the phone beforehand and he assured me that both were in stock. After test driving both vehicles, I quickly fell in love with the Cruze. Greg Upole did what smart salesmen do.... he never pushed anything down my throat he let me choose what I wanted to buy. I felt I got a good price and had a very good time working with Greg and Jon and was EXTREMELY SATISFIED with the way they handled everything. I felt like a guest not just another sale. They made sure I was happy with the deal and I was comfortable with the terms. The finance manger Sarah was very professional also. When it comes time for another vehicle I won't consider ANYWHERE else. Between the genuine friendliness of the staff , Greg Upole being a great person to work with pressure free , and the Steak dinner the owners invite customers to Not to mention Vandevere throwing a FREE lifetime powertrain engine warranty, This was a fantastic place. VanDevere Chevrolet are the best dealership by far in Ohio that I have had both a buying & service experience with. I love that I can come here & there is never any "salesman" pressure like you get at other local dealerships. They should take a leaf out of the VanDevere Book. I live about a little over an hour away from the dealership and was scheduled a "VIP" appointment with one of the sales people to look at a specific car that was posted online. When I arrived he was no where to be found. The car sales man I had was nice, however the car I went to look at had sold that day. Mind you I called an hour before arriving to check and make sure the appointment was still a go for the day. After being told it was sold I was a little irritated but I drove over an hour and decided to check out other options. I was showed another nice vehicle, a little out of my price range, however I decided talk to the bank before making any decisions. The sales man told me I could put down $100 "deposit" to take it off the lot. When I asked the sales man, I was told I would be sent a check in the mail if I was not able to purchase the vehicle. (otherwise I would not have paid the $100) When I contacted the sales man the next business day, I told him of my budget and we were not able to meet at a common ground. He put me on the phone with a pushy sales manager with VERY poor customer service. I told him I did not want to purchase the vehicle at that price, however he continued to push the sale, stating they do not negotiate their prices. He knew nothing about the situation either, stating I had the car in my possession, which I did not. THEN I was told that I would not get the $100 back. I was irate at this point for many reasons. The sales manager was condescending and rude to top it all off. I was willing to work with the original sales man and possibly find a better option for me, but after all of the hassle I would never go back nor would I recommend the dealer.

I had an incredible experience at VanDevere! As an inexperienced car buyer (this was only my second car), I was not at all looking forward to the process of purchasing a new vehicle. On the day I visited VanDevere, I had already been to a few dealerships and was anything but impressed with any of them as they held up to my pre-conceived opinions of dealerships (some car dealerships are known throughout my family as having "vultures" instead of dealers). However at VanDevere Chevrolet, Greg Upole walked up and changed my mind completely! Always taking notes and paying close attention to detail, he was very interested in me personally and the types of vehicles I would or would not be interested in. He never once picked a car that I didn't like. I did not find a vehicle on my first time out there, but Greg was more than happy to do his "homework" and found various options for me. This included driving to the other VanDevere locations to examine a vehicle before I drove out to see it so I would not be "wasting my time." There was never a time Greg wasn't available (yes, even at 10:00 pm a Sunday night!). He has immense knowledge regarding car servicing and always gave advice based on that knowledge, not what would get him a sale. It was quite refreshing. Within days of my first visit, he found my perfect car! My Pontiac G6 was not originally on the VanDevere Chevy lot, but Greg left the Chevy dealership and met us at the location of the car (Kia store) so we could see it. Greg even took it overnight to test drive it for my own peace of mind and used his service knowledge and experience to verify that this was a very sound car. I could not be happier! The other employees at VanDevere Chevy were great to work with, caring, and entertaining too! Those worth mentioning include Shane Golden and Ron Brown. Additionally, the team at VanDevere went out of their way to accommodate our financing desires. Therefore, to my surprise, my entire experience was actually enjoyable. I would highly recommend working with VanDevere, and can not praise them enough. I plan on looking to them, and Greg, for all of my future vehicle needs.

Overall my experience at VanDevere was pleasant. I was unable to find a vehicle at VanDevere, but it was one of the more pleasant experiences due to a younger salesman by the name of Anthony. Over a three day period I visited approximately ten dealerships. All of the salesman I dealt with for the most part were terrible, but this guy was sharp and extremely well educated. Even though I didn't end up with a vehicle from them, I can't say it was necessarily due to VanDevere Chevy. My parameters were difficult to work with mainly due to my price point. I can also say they offered me the most competitive price on my 2006 vehicle out of the ten different dealers I visited. If you visit this dealer ask for Anthony. You can't go wrong with this guy.

I just purchased a Chrysler 300 from rich borodkin from online without ever physically seeing the car. He sent me videos and described everything to a tee! Communication was great between rich and I and that was the deal maker right there cause I am always on the go! Car is way better than described and it is true I drove home smiling! I would recommend dealing with rich borodkin and Ron brown to everyone! Great people, great cars, fast service and I brought my 5 year old with me and they made her laugh and gave her a balloon bigger than her! Lol! Plus I couldn't make it up there till 8:30 on a Thursday night and they stayed with us till way after closing to answer all my questions! If your thinking of getting a new car .. We went to Spitzer in North Canton first looking for a Surburban for my wife. She had a Tahoe she loved For trade in. They had a 2012 demo which my wife liked a lot. The salesman was very nice at Spitzer and came back with a price. We told him we would think over weekend. I called him following Monday, Jim was not there, so talked to another salesmen. Told him the price I wanted, he said had to talk with manager, he called me back and said they gave me best price first time. Seemed little interest to sell the Surburban. So, I ask my wife to go to VanDevere, by herself. She went to Akron Chevy store and nice gentlemen helped her named Shane. He and mangement went out of there way to get the price my wife told them. She was able to get a Surburban 2013 at a better price then Spitzer demo 2012. My wife called me at work and told me they had everything in order. I talked to Shane to make sure it was true. It was exactly the price we wanted. Went after work and my wife drove home her new vehicle. I highly recommend VanDevere, great people working at this site.. I came to Vandevere in 2010 for a truck. Everywhere else I tried showed me crap for the money I was wanting to spend, but not Vandevere. Brian Newsome was my salesman and he was amazing, friendly and listened to what I was looking for. He found me a beautiful loaded Ford F150. This year, 2012, my truck got totaled by a man not paying attention. I returned to Vandever and once again, Brian found me the perfect vehicle. He listens and really cares about his customers. He is not trying to push you into anything you do not want. If he doesn't have what you are looking for he goes out of his way to find it. He goes over and above any salesman I have ever known to meet your needs. Because of this , I will shop Vandevere for my future vehicles and I recomend them to anyone. I had the BEST experience ever with a dealership at Van Devere!!! CJ was awesome... I too had a hard time deciding what style of crossover I wanted! He helped me out by test driving 2 of them and sitting and looking at several more! VERY patient! I decided that the Ford Edge was the best for me, but they did not have any on the lot... but the day before I found the one I wanted at another dealer... I didn't buy from them because they seemed a little shady, so this dealership bought the car from them, and put it through 3 hours of inspection, to certify it, then resold it to me (very small markup...which was fine for my piece of mind!!)and I drove it away the same day and recieved the great warranty that Van Devere offers, the great service, and an excellent price too!! CJ is a busy guy, but worth making an appointment to come see! (Or drop in, but he is the one I will continue to buy from)THANK YOU!!!

When I came into the dealership to get a car Clinton was quick to assist me. He was extremely helpful and patient when it came to finding me a car I liked and could afford. He was very personable and had a great sense of humor. He was genuine and did not push me into getting a car that was above my price range, like most sales men do. A few months ago my husband went to VanDevere Chevy because he was getting an oil change and thought he'd walk the lot. He wanted to take a look at a new Malibu and found Rich Borodkin to help him out. Rich was super patient once my husband decided to call me and have me come down to look at it. He was never pushy, we never felt like he was looking for another customer he'd rather work with. He was upfront with us about the whole process. We bought a Malibu that day. Fast forward a few months, and it was time for me to look into a new car. We went back and immediately asked for Rich Borodkin because it had been such a positive experience. Rich got me the car I wanted that night. He was quick, friendly and professional. Never pushy or sneaky. The whole team there was great, any time we had questions or needed space to just talk privately and think. I will continue to go to VanDevere for future needs.

Why: I was very picky about the color that I wanted for my Chevy Equinox -- blue. Also, I only wanted a 4-cyl / front-wheel drive vehicle. Ok I'm giving this review because cj is the best car salesman I've met so far. I went there for 3 different cars- two 2012 chevy impalas and a 2010 suzuki. They were all sold by the time I got there. One of them was sold just five minutes before,and had the nerve to be parked outside by my grandmas car ;( Instead of doing what most dealers do and just saying these things happen,then try to push a hooptie on me,he kept searching for a car that I really wanted. Basically I put this poor man through hell. He took the time to drive me and my mom around about 3 or 4 vandevere lots looking for the vehicle I wanted. I found two cars I really liked at vandevere buick. He worked really hard to get the best kind of financing for me and I was able to get the car I wanted. Even got me zero down.There's a little more to the story but to make it short(too late?) Cj spent time with me and got me what I wanted so now I'm driving around in a 2008 nissan altima coupe with a nicely padded bank account. The car buying experience here was pleasant....everyone is very nice in the dealership. I am not convinced that the quality they put into the inspection of their used vehicles is that great....because my vehicle was sold to me with the check engine light on, and even though it was agreed upon that they would fix it on their dime as part of the "We Owe, You Owe" form, it was like pulling teeth trying to get it fixed. I dropped my car off on Sunday night to be fixed on Monday, and they called to tell me that a sensor had to be replaced but they didn't have it in stock, so I wouldn't get my car back until Tuesday and they refused to give me a replacement vehicle or a rental. I even talked to the salesman and he didn't do anything to help my situation for getting a rental. My car had to be fixed again on Tuesday because they put the WRONG part in my car and the check engine light came on again while the car was on it's way back to me. They did offer to get me into a rental on Tuesday while they still had my car on their expense before I could ask. The service guy had no explanation as to why they put the wrong part in my vehicle, but it doesn't leave me feeling good about taking my vehicle there for future service. I understand mistakes happen, but there should be checks and balances in place to avoid something like that happening.The check engine light was noticed only after the key had been found to my car...which I was told was "lost" a few days before. I honestly think that they would've tried to sell me this vehicle without me looking at it or test driving it and I feel like they were trying to get one over on me. I was told that they had a locksmith out to get a key made for the car, but it's been 7 days and nothing has been mentioned about getting me a 2nd key or a key fob.This dealership promises lots of nice things, but you really need to be aggressive for getting what you believe you should get from this dealership, especially when buying a used car. Make sure you get it down in writing BEFORE you sign the papers, because once you sign and they have their money it's almost like they are done giving you anything as a customer.

Beware of Van Devere auto dealerships in northeast Ohio (http://vandevere.com/). These guys are the biggest bunch of crooks in the auto industry. They love to sell you the extended warranty and then find ways to get out of providing coverage when you need it the most. Bottom line is that I bought an 08 Jeep from them in 2010 and paid $2000 for an extended warranty, and I just paid $5000 to put a new engine in it. "Sorry but the warranty you paid $2000 for is not valid under these circumstances." Well done Van Devere - with your shady business practices and piss-poor customer service you will never get a dime of my business ever again.

I had a great experience with Valerie Green. I first called the dealership about an advertisement that I saw on AutoTrader.com for a GMC Yukon. I was connected to Valerie Green who was excellent on the phone. Unfortunately, the vehicle that I had called about was sold that day. She said she'd check inventory for any similar vehicles and get back to me. I didn't even hesitate to give her my number because she was so nice on the phone. She called me back about the vehicle I eventually purchased. The entire experience with Valerie was actually pleasureable. I was also allowed to "test drive" the vehicle for two full days to see if it would meet my needs. It did! If there was one thing that I have any concern with was the value of my trade. On KBB.com, my 2005 Dodge Dakota had a Trade-in Value of $5,800.00 and a Retail Value of $8,000.00 even though it had high mileage. That meant to me that they could pay me the trade-in value and resell my truck at the retail value and make $2,200.00. Not bad for basically just sending my truck through a $200.00 auto detailing. I dealt with Sales Manager Don Brady and I was very disappointed with the $3,700.00 that he offered me for my trade in. I could have tried to sell it myself, but I didn't want to go through the hassle. Other than the trade-in value, everything else has been super. I would purchase another vehicle from them again right now if I needed one. Thank you Valerie for your personal service and friendliness. You're a valuable asset to this dealership. I recently found a used truck on the web that I was interested in purchasing from Vandevere Chevrolet. I live 3.5 hours away from the dealership. Mr. Buchanan went out of his way to retrieve the truck from a second location and describe to me in detail all of the features of the truck over the phone. He was able to answer all my goofy little questions and put me at ease that the truck was worth the drive. I showed up several hours later and to my surprise the truck was even better than Mr. Buchanan had described. I was very ecstatic! Once I checked the truck over the purchasing process was very quick and I was on my way a happy new owner. I commend Mr. Buchanan for being so honest and helpful. When I met Mr. Buchanan on the car lot, myself and my husband were not aware that the dealership changed Burt Greenwald to a VanDevere dealership. Once I realized it I was ready to leave as we have had nothing but nasty car salesmen at all of the VanDevere dealerships we have gone too. Just as we were walking to the car Mr. Buchanan approached us and asked us if we needed any assistance; I expressed to Mr. Buchanan that I was not interested in doing business with VanDevere due to the very bad experiences we had at both the dealerships on Arlington Road and Market Street(salesman told my 65 year old mother to "come back when you win the lottery") in the last couple of months. Mr. Buchanan immediately began to appologize for the treatment of my mother at the Market Street dealership and asked if I would be kind enough to give him a chance to assist her to make up for the treatment by the other store. Still not happy with VanDevere I decided to give Mr. Buchanan a chance. He was most wonderful and very professional with my mother; to the point where I felt comfortable leaving her with him and taking a look around the lot myself. He never tried to sell her anything she did not ask for and was never rude or pushy. I appreciated his treatment of my mother so much that I let him sell me a new Silverado. In the future when I am ready to purchase another vehicle or trade in one; I will definately be willing to deal with Mr. Buchanan again. I found him very professional, kind, considerate and willing to help to make the experience wonderful.

I went to the dealership knowing which car I wanted to buy. Dennis spent a LOT of time just trying to find it among the several VanDevere dealership! He let me test drive it AND take it home overnight so my mechanic could assess it for me. When I brought the mechanic's findings back the next day, Dennis worked out replacing the rear brakes and a headlamp. No second key available, but Dennis got me one at a reasonable price. He was attentive in keeping me posted on how the work was coming along as I waited. I will certainly suggest to friends wanting to buy a car to check out Dennis in Akron. I did not feel rushed through the buying process.

There is only one word for my experience in working with Smalls and that is AWESOME! I went to VanDevere Chevrolet with only one car in mind, a 2001 Gold Volkswagen New Beetle! I went in had an approximate monthly payment amount in mind, asked Jeremiah to make it happen and he did! I LLLLOOOVVVEEE my new car, AKA Goldie! Working with Smalls was awesome because he listened to everything that I said that was important to me, and when I told him that I only wanted "Goldie" no other car, he worked very hard to make sure that I got the car that I wanted and for the price that I wanted. He never pressured me at any point, working with Jeremiah was like working with a friend. At first I was broken hearted because I didn't have enough money with me for the down payment the first day I was there, so he accepted a partial down payment and held the car a WHOLE week for me to come back and pay the rest! All in all I was very impressed with the service that I received at VanDevere Chevrolet and would recommend to any of my friends and family who are considering buying or leasing a car to make an appointment with him Jeremiah Nichols. The showroom and amenities make a "first" good impression. I found VanDevere Chevrolet on the internet as I was looking for a good deal on a used 15 passenger van to start my business. I made contact with Marcus Floyd about the van over the phone and 305 miles away. Me and my son travelled to look at the van and finish the financing. I was able to be approved prior to the trip and felt confident that I made the right choice out of the dozens of vans that I had inquired about at other dealerships. The van was ready after my five hour trip. The van was everything Marcus said that it would be. I was impressed with Marcus on being a experienced and knowledgeable professional. Marcus answered all of my questions with detail. This was a major purchase for my company and I feel like I made a solid choice the day of the sale that will lead to future deals with Marcus and the VanDevere family. The atmosphere of the dealership is something that I had never experienced before. Marcus and the VanDevere family have set a high bar for other dealerships to follow. I worked at a dealership when I was younger and seen many dealerships throughout my life, but have never seen so much attention to detail with customer satisfaction. I have purchased many cars, new and used over the years, but I want to express my happiness in deciding to go to Vandervere. I found a vehicle i was interested in viewing/ I emailed my interest, got a call, I was told who my sales person would be, got a post card from her before my appointment, called and had a great conversation over the phone so as she would now what i was interested in.. made an appointment....easy stuff. When i drove in and got out the car, everyone seemed to already know who i was and whom i was there to see...How???..not sure ..but it made me feel special. Trisha had the car parked right at the front door ..to see it as i walked in..That was nice/ Trisha was great! I will refer her to all my friends. she was careful to explain all of what Vandervere is and does/ she was caring and patient/ She showed me several of the other vehicles i had expressed a interest in/ When all was done, I drove home in the initial vehicle I had saw on the internet..2009 Chevy Malibu LT 2LT/ great deal!...PS..i came out by myself in my great 2006 chevy Impala (kept...had no intention of trading) so Trisha offered to help get both cars home to me....I thought that was great! GO TRISHA!!:))

I got very good customer service with the car salesperson. I liked it because he was not pushy. I wasn't planning to buy until May. He was good as far as trying to find me what I wanted in a truck through e-mail. I love the truck he found, it is perfect for me. A few months earlier than I had planned, but I couldn't pass it up. Renato was real good as far as keeping it touch and explaining the free car washes and telling me all about the powertrain warranty and all about VanDevere. I have told all my freinds and family about the way I was treated when purchasing my truck. Hopefully when they need something they will go to VanDevere.

I visited your dealership years ago, and was helped by a salesman that spent a lot of time, with me trying to help me out, with a bad situation, He tried everything he could to help, but wasn't able to resolve my problem, and I wasn't able to afford a car at that time, and he smiled and said, I'm sorry and by his actions I knew he felt so sad for me, I was young then and had just started a family, He said he was so sorry, and would pray for me. He spent several more minutes with me, and when I left I did'nt feel bad at all. The visit to your dealership at that time,and meeting this christian man, meant so much to me that I knew I would return to your dealership again. i find my self in dire straights again after a rediculous divorce, and remembering my experience with you folks, I decided to call on you again, in hopes of a solution to my problem again. I visited the dealership on Arlington, just before Christmas ,and was very disappointed in my visit, and decided not to deal with your dealership.I thought about the situation, for a week, and decided to give your dealership another try, because I liked the car I looked at. I decided to go to your chevy dealership and try to see about the car. I was met in the lot by a young man who answered all my questions, and was not pushy, and after telling him my story, he had the same look of concern for my situation, as the gentleman I talked about previously. I didn't tell him about my experience at the other store because I'm not one who causes touble. He walked me all around the lot to find this car and make inquires to staff to find out where this car was and no-one knew, because it was so new to your dealership it hadn't been serviced yet. I told the young man that I would call him after the holidays and make arrangments to drive the car. I called Brian and made arrangments to test drive the car, and he took a lot of time with me, returning phone calls and answering questions,and even though credit was not very good he didnn't treat me like I was a failure. His professionalism is high, and his attitude is great. You should be proud to have him as an employee. I rated the price of this car as good, not because of you folks, but because of my fault letting myself get this way. I thank God for Brian and your dealership for helping me to start over again, and to prove to you, as well as myself, that I am a good, and responsible person. When shopping for a "used" car, normally don't get the attention or time from sales people. NOT the case here. Mr. Mowrer spent 2 days with me locating a car to meet my needs and 'budget'. He managed to find several cars from both dealerships and on my second visit we were able to make a deal. Mr. Mowrer went beyond normal "used car" customer requirements (and demands) to get me in this car. The car was a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. When I arrived at the dealership, it was waiting for me at the front door of the show room (washed and clean inside) and ready to go. I was very impressed, it was as though I purchased a "new" car. I must say, I was fully expecting to pick it up in the back of the dealership.Thus far, I am very satisfied with the car and the salesperson. I plan to get the car serviced at VanDevere, and hope the service department is as good as Mr. Mowrer was for sales.

Marcus Floyd is one of the main reasons why VanDevere deals with so many sales. He is one of the best sales people I personally (Ryan Majors) have ever purchased a vehicle from. Information about anything and everything was pointed out and explained very well by Marcus. If anyone is looking for a vehicle to buy, Marcus Floyd is the salesman to talk to! Putting Marcus aside, I noticed VanDevere really talked their business up on their customer based business. I agree, except I was very disappointed when I showed up to pick my Dodge Ram 1500 up I recently purchased. I was sent home driving it with less than a 1/4 of tank of gasoline, a fallen out bumper light that was very noticeable that was told about, but no action was taken, and wet floor mats that were laying soaked in the bed! I received a new 32" TV with my truck purchase that I would have traded in for a full tank of gasoline that I need! Overall, the place is extremely nice and a wonderful place to buy a vehicle. I will recommend this place to other friends in family, but I am upset on how my vehicle was presented to me to drive home! Is VanDevere really as good as they talk themselves up to be? We will found out! Besides that, 'Great Job Marcus' keep up the outstanding work!

I had found a ford ranger here and the idea of a lifetime warrenty sounded really good to me. Although I am sure there are MANY catches to that too. I had a truck to trade in, didnt have it with me that day. The salesman I spoke with was helpful, but all I wanted to know was what a payment would be. He HAD to see the my truck. I just wanted a best case/worst case scenario. I was able to do this at 3 other dea;erships. He kept going back and forth to the sales manager..I think. Just wanted some numbers, a price range. Didnt ask for anything definate. I understand they needed to see my truck for an actual trade in value. Couldnt get it. Gave up.

I came in to find a used truck after much searching in a multitude of avenues available. The first trip to Vandevere was wonderful. Upon our return to pick up the truck everything ran very efficently. They even catered to my son and kept him happy with treats and balloons. I will definately be back to get our next vehicle. I was ready to pull the triger on a new car deal with a competitor when I was turned on to an old friend, Mr. D. Obendorf. Denny and I have several mutual friends and when the conversation turned to buying a new car, Denny's good name surfaced. Jason Mowrer helped me find a 2011 Camaro in spite of how rare they are, suitable ones that is, this time of the year. He found three. One was the car I'd want to buy. He helped with price, options,etc. He understood my concern for getting what I really wanted rather than "settling " for a lesser car. As I look at all the cars around me on the road, I see many folks who seemingly did just that. When the car I wanted turned out to be sold out from under us, he found another when it looked like I would be relegated to ordering a 2012 and waiting till October to get it and at an inflated price. I called the dealership before I visited it and spoke with Jeremy. What I liked about that call, was that he didn't ask me alot of questions, he sounded professional and honestly sounded like he wanted me to come look at the selections and would work with me to find a vehicle to transport my large dogs. When I arrived,we must have spent 2 hrs. there and when I decided on an HHR, but didn't like what was on the lot, he found out that there was one being detailed and showed me the photos of it. I left the dealership and went to 4 other places. Each of those places made me feel like I should buy brand new or they tried to talk me into vehicles that were out of my price range. Jeremy called and said the HHR is back and I went the next day to test drive it. I loved it, but was still hesitant about buying it. He was great about it, no pressure and while I was driving home, I realized I wanted that car, so I turned around and bought it. The more I thought about what Jeremy said about the dealership and how they stand by their vehicles,new or used, I knew I found my dealership for life. On the 2nd day of driving the vehicle, the door lock malfunctioned and I was locked out, with the key in my hand. I called Vandevere and they sent someone to help me immedietly, not hours later and let me tell you, I was not very pleasant at first, but whoever I spoke to was an angel in my distress. I scheduled an appt to have the key reprogrammed, they fixed it, washed the car and I was on my way in less than an hour. Had I known such a great place exists, I would not have waited so long to look for another car. As for price, I shopped around and found a few that were a bit lower but they had more miles on them and no moon roof. The entire staff were always smiling and the positive energy in the place was a electrifing. A different salesman even offered me some water when I had it in for that minor adjustment, and that just proved to me how they all work together for the good of the customer. Josh did an excellent job finding me a very low interest rate. He explained everything very well.

I went to at least 5 previous dealers and every one seemed to be very high pressure and when I came to vandevere I thought I knew what to expect. I was in for a great surprise, C.J. Harris was really patient he listen to my main concerns about getting a newer vehicle with great gas mileage and something I could have more room in for my Family. We looked at several diffrent vehicles and Cj never tried to pressure us into buying anything. Just spent a pleasant morning at VanDevere Chevrolet. My salesperson was Dennis Obendorf ("Obie"). I wasn't looking forward to the car purchasing experience. It takes a long time and, in the past, it has been a ridiculous contest between you, the buyer, and them, the dealer. I have nothing bad to say about either Mr. Obendorf or the VanDevere organization. I was welcomed in and treated with respect from the moment I walked in until I left with the keys (and a ton of paperwork!)to my "new" car. I purchased a 2009 Chevy HHR. It was washed and shined up when I took the keys. They even helped me move things from my old trade-in and put my OSU license plate holder on the new car. Also, I would like to mention Lisa, the finance person, who handled the paperwork. She was nice as well. All in all, it was a great experience. Thanks!

I had a great experience at vandevere with Jeremy Williams. I was treated very well while there. Everyone was friendly and I got free drinks & popcorn. When I left the first time Jeremy sent me a video of "my truck" for a second look while I was still trying to decide and while I had been trying to talk myself out of it 2 days later I was back in. Jeremy was honest and straight to the point, no messing around. So if you need a car, Jeremy is your man!

I was very impressed with my dealings with Van Devere Chevy. Brian Newsom was the salesman and he did a superb job. He was forthright,pleasant, and very informative. He gave me a fair deal up front and I purchased a Tahoe on the spot. I recommend Brian and would refer my friends to him and the dealership. Their service dept.is good as well. This is our second Tahoe. I will be buying another car in October and will give him first chance.

Brian was extremely patient with me, an indecisive car shopper, he gave me all the time I needed (and then some). Brian spent many hours looking for the car I was seeking, this time frame evolved into weeks. Even after finding a close match, my procrastination ended with the unavailability of the car, resulting in yet another search. I am sure the length of time involved in these searches for my car could be very frustating for any salesman; not once did Brian show any evidence of that possible frustration. Today, Brian delivered the desired car to me, taking much time to show me all of the "bells and whistles", again in a very patient, thorough and professional manner.I have owned the car less than six hours and am very happy with the purchase. Originally bought a vehicle here in February 2011 from Jarod Millar. Jarod told us one price originally, then raised the price over $35 per month in payments once we completed the test drive. We had to play games for more than two hours in order to get the price within $15 in payments per month to what Jarod originally said it would be. Jarod promised us a keyfob, original owner's manual and original floor mats. He also scheduled our first "free" oil change. Three months later, we find that not only was our oil change not scheduled by Jarod, but it wasn't free, either. Apparently, after selling us the vehicle and promising us those things, Jarod was fired, according to the general manager. I can see why. Because of this, we had to have a special meeting with a general manager, Bob Berger, taking up more of our time. He said he would order the parts (keyfob, manual, mats). We never heard anything back and eventually called a month later to find our parts were available. We made the hour drive and picked them up, only to find the floor mats are the generic $10 mats you can find at all of the big box stores, and not only didn't fit, but would be pretty dangerous to put near the pedals considering they didn't fit and could easily get caught within your feet. Did receive an owner's manual and keyfob as promised, even though the keyfob has to be taken to a Mazda dealership to be programmed at additional cost. In short, I'd steer clear of Vandevere. We had to make so many extra phone calls, e-mails and two extra trips and could have gotten the same car at a similar price without the hassle. I'll agree that everyone we've encountered has been really pleasant, but they couldn't get the job done.

This is the second new vehicle I have purchased from VanDevere Chevrolet since September 2009. This is truly a world class organization. Kim was extremely professional, knowledgable, and easy to work with. He wasn't cheesy or fake like a lot of salesmen I've dealt with before. Kim turned a very bad experience with another salesman into a very positive experience for me. I was literally walking out the door and getting into my car because I was so frustrated with the other salesman and Kim was kind enough to ask me about my experience and rectify the whole situation. He phoned several different locations and even offered to search down and purchase, at auction, the specific car I wanted with no obligation for me to buy. He listened to exactly what I wanted and didn't try to "pitch" me on anything that didn't apply to my specifications. I'm confident that he will do what he can to help me find my car and get me a good deal. I haven't yet found my perfect car but I'm hoping that when I do, it will be at VanDevere with Kim Young. Thanks Kim!!

When I was first meet Kim as my sales rep I knew I was in good handa. He is a very professional young man with a great personality. He was not pushy or made you feel pressured. There was literally NO PRESSURE when we walked in. My son had already been at VanDevere with his friend, so he had experience with Joe. My son stated how much he liked the way Joe treated him, so now it was my turn to meet Joe. This was my son's first new car buy experience and he wanted me to be there. While Jared test drove some cars, Joe gave me an opportunity to drive also. I loved the Malibu. Jared and I went back a few more times, and over the course of a month, Jared decided to buy the Cruze from Joe. We had been to other dealerships, and did not find the service as satisfactory as at VanDevere with Joe and the rest of the sales force. All were exceptionally friendly and willing to support Joe in his efforts to "sell" a car. When it came to my turn, Joe took Jared and me to the Kia dealership so I could compare Chevy to Kia. I drove the Kia Forte, and found it was not exactly what I wanted, even though the color was right...red. It happens that Jeremiah had done a locate for a red Malibu which was still on the lot. Joe had me drive it, and I loved it. I asked Joe to please not play the pricing game that I have experienced so often at other dealers. The offer came back with a downpayment that I could not manage. Joe then took it back with a downpayment I could manage, and the numbers were good. My son and I made sure it would fit in the budget, and went with the deal. Please understand that I would have been perfectly happy to keep my van for a few more months. The incentives available to buy the Malibu were what swung the deal in favor of the Malibu purchase now. I got a four-year newer vehicle for what I would have had to expend into the van. I have NEVER had such friendly service in a dealership before. Plus, having a male speak directly to me when I was with my son was a new experience...even when I was asking questions about my son's cars of interest. I enjoyed conversation with the whole sales staff, and all shook my hand when I decided to buy. I would definitely recommend VanDevere to everyone...even to the friend who went to Lambert GM and told me to go GM. Thanks so much for a positive experience.

Kim was johnny-on-the-spot. Called him up, just like last time, got the price down, no bait and switch. I bought the car on the telephone sight unseen. Sales manager made a half-hearted effort to nix the deal with additional documents that were not required by GM, but his expression of resignation was priceless. I would send business Kim's way.

Joe was such a wonderful person from the start of my visit till the end...he treated me like a person..not like someone with bad credit...he shared stories of his credit experiences in life and made the overall experience very comfortable! I was shopping for a new 2011 Silverado and was very specific about what I wanted, what I expected, and what I needed. The staff I encountered were all extremely courteous and friendly. My sales rep, Brian Newsom, made me very comfortable and did exectly what I requested of him. I did not expect to purchase a vehicle on my first visit but wound up doing so because I received the type of service I have never received from a car dealer before. Needless to say, I was stunned. We made a great deal on a new truck and I would gladly return for my next one.

I had purchased a used vehicle. The staff was great to work with in all aspects from finding what I was looking for (I had some specific requirments for a vehicle) to making the deal and getting great financing. Items I had concerns about were addressed and the whole experience was great. I have puchased many vehicles over the years and have found Vandevere to be above the the others with the great staff they have. I had felt no pressure and the staff took great care in getting me the specific vehicle that would fit my needs and budget. I commend them for being a great group of people to work with. I would definatley use and recommend them in the future.

Had talked to Joe on the phone about a week back about Equinox vs Malibu, told him we had an "08 Malibu we wanted to trade.Joe did some research for us and called back, by then we were leaning toward the equinox if the price was right. So on the 21st, we went to meet with Joe, who made us very comfortable, to the pointe of turning on the Indians game which we were missing as we had forgotten how long it takes to do a car deal. Was pretty happy on the final price, but was dissapointed on what we got for trade in on our spotless "08. After Joe went back to the BOSS with our counter offer, we were able to compromise and drove away in our new Equinox. So Thanks Joe for a job well done.Patricia Weber

Great Experience! This was my first time buying a car and Ron and the team at VanDevere were amazing! I am very picky and somewhat indecisive and Ron was patient and kind. I had a previous bad experience from a different dealership and i am grateful that I decided to stop in at VanDevere. I didn't see a car that i feel in love with at the v. odom lot so Ron took us to their other lot on market street and I found my new love that I named Bella :) I will definitely recommend if you are looking for a car visit VanDevere! Rich Borodkin was awesome from beginning to end. Being on a tight budget Rich was able to get me the car I wanted for the price I needed. He searched new and used inventory going threw option after option until I was satisfied. He did all this patiently while in the presence of my children, who can be a handful at times. I bought a used Hyundai from here that I saw on autotrader.com. They let me take a test drive by myself over to my own mechanic to look at the car to make sure it was a good buy. We negotiated a good price for the car. I paid cash and drove off the lot that day. A few days later I noticed a headlight out. I called Joe Tracey and he told me to bring it in, and he replaced it free of charge. Everyone at this dealer is very friendly to do business with. I would highly recommend.

First I have got to say that i can see why he is thier sales MANAGER.I say this because he is HONEST ,and i could see that he really CARED about my experence with them ,he took the time to make sure i was getting exactly what i wanted , and made sure when i left that i fully understood everything , and that i left with a smile on my face.It truely was a good car buying experence ! I know I have bad credit. I went in looking for something that would be safer than the current car I drive. I had looked at the current equinox because it seemed safer because it had six airbags compared to my two. The staff there told me that because of my credit they wouldn't even show me an equinox. They showed me a cobalt with no power windows, no power locks and a three year warranty. They come back with a $400 monthly payment. I couldn't believe it! Not only did I not want the car, it seemed to be the same car that I already had, why would I want to pay that much for it? My current car has power locks and windows. I asked him why they were showing me new cars anyway, why couldn't I see a used equinox? He said that you get a 3000 rebate on the cobalt, so it would look better to the bank. I asked then why is the payment so high if I get a rebate? He said it's because of my credit. This place pressures you into a sale more than anything. They showed me a car that was not as good as my current car and wanted to charge me probably twice what it's worth anyway! Then they wanted a down payment after I was going to get a rebate that could have been used as a down payment. Don't do business here!

I purchased a 2006 Chevy HHR from Burt Greenwald Chevy in Dec of 05. The car runs great but I ran into an issue involving a defect in the back side panel where the paint chips and the panel has a frosted look that completely disfigures the car. I contacted Burt Greenwald to see if they would take care of the issue. They refused to deal with the matter while several other dealers especially Canadian Dealerships were agreeing to fix the issue. The fix was to paint the defected area and install running boards. The customer service is pathetic. I will never purchase another vehicle from them. It is due to this type of poor service that I am not purchasing a foreign car.

I was told verbally and by email they could give me the price I was asking for my trade. After driving 20 minutes for the appointment, they would not come within $1000 of the price they quoted, but told me there was nothing wrong with my trade-in vehicle. I had specifically asked the salesperson if there would be any problem meeting the price I was asking for my trade before I went in and was told the used car manager had been emailed the info and it would not be a problem.
