Took the vehicle for a test drive, everything seemed ok. Took it to a mechanic, but a scheduling mistake on my part didn't allow for an inspection. Decided to purchase the car anyway (took it to a mechanic the next day as a feel good, it seemed ok). Haven't had the car 3 weeks and whamo, it needs a new $2500 transmission. Stay away from these guys.

I understand that used cars come with risk, although I really wish the car sold to me had been more thoroughly looked over before purchase. When I test drove the 2003 Mazda Protege and took it to a local mechanic he said there was an oil leak which I got fixed after I purchased the car. Since then I have had to get repairs for these problems: broken transmission, bad fuel pump, radiator hose broke, bad alternator, and bad spark plugs. The car currently had a belt on the engine break and now I’m getting get rid of the car. I know the sellers gave me a warranty which helped, although the car should not have given out at 126,000 miles and just over 3 years of driving it.

Very surprised to say the least. Have lived near this place for a number of years, so have driven by it hundreds of times and written it off as a Smilin' Uncle Jim's Used Cars type of place. It so happened that I started casually looking for a vehicle and they happened to have two that caught my eye at the same time. I entered with a bit of trepidation, but ended up buying a car that I'm still really satisfied with. I have to state up front that 1) I secured my own financing prior to going to buy, and 2) I wasn't trading, just buying outright. I can't speak to trade-ins or financing with these guys. Here's what I really liked about this place: Mr. Munoz (sorry, forgot his first name) was zero-pressure. Absolute zero. Want to drive the car? Fill out this paperwork and you can take it for a spin. Want to take it to a mechanic to get inspected? Make an appointment and you can take it. Zero. Pressure. Their inventory seems to be "we get what we get". They don't sell any specific type of car. Of the two that I drove, they both seemed to be in excellent condition mechanically. One had pretty high mileage but was still in good shape, with a couple of dings on the exterior but no deal-breakers. They were asking below average retail for the two cars I looked at according to Kelly Blue Book. If they happen to get a car you're interested in, this place is worth a look.
