DO NOT buy a car from this dealership! My daughter purchased a 2002 Toyota Tacoma from Zelaya Autos on April 29, 2021. Before purchase I was told the vehicle was being checked out as you do with all your trade-in vehicles. I was told it was in great shape but needed the valve gaskets replaced, which was completed by their mechanic. About 10 days after purchase, the Tacoma was having issues. It stalled several times leaving my teenage daughter stranded. Loud noises could be heard from the engine. I deemed it unsafe to drive and had it towed to my trusted mechanic. His investigation revealed the following issues: 1. Cam bearing broke and destroyed engine 2. Radiator was full of unidentifiable fluids 3. Oil pan was also full of “Stop Leak” fluid 4. Leaks from engine, transmission, and rear diff, all had “Stop Leak” fluid in them 5. Tie rod and the pinion bushings worn out, sway bar bushings missing Overall there were many serious and dangerous issues with the Tacoma that should have been identified and repaired during the pre-sale service and inspection it received at Zelaya Autos. The Tacoma has been at a mechanic’s garage since early May, and the repair expenses I have incurred are over $8500. I have called, sent email and even hand delivered a letter, but NO response from them at all.
