Through the years some creative soul took their vision and spare time to graft the front clip, rear fenders. trunk lid, and other parts belonging to a 1950 Studebaker Commander onto a somewhat modern drivetrain and suspension that began life as a 1992 Ford Thunderbird. Resulting in the one and only STUDEBIRD. This car is a real head turner and a blast to drive in the aspect it drives like a newer car and is the center of attention everywhere it goes. The overall craftmanship is not perfect but who cares, it is fun. It has been recently painted the best that could be accomplished over the previous creation. It still has the entire original drivetrain and suspension and is titled as a 1992 Ford Thunderbird. Powered by a 3.8L V-6 with automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows and seat, along with tilt steering wheel. It has new factory fitted carpet and the headliner and package tray have been replaced. The factory Thunderbird seats have been completely re-upholstered and look like new. All of the exterior chrome has been refinished and shines perfectly. The factory size tires are almost new and the factory ford wheels have really great looking vintage mercury hubcaps. The windows have been tinted and add to that mysterious appearance.
