No doubt derogatory, over time the epithet has become one of endearment, although the brand's hardest purists still hate it. That bunch landed on hood bird four decades ago and refused to budge. Others go with Rising Phoenix or simply Firebird. All in nice condition, and the optional T-tops are with this car. Standard 16-inch multi-spoke chrome wheels are seen on all 4's and are wrapped in 245/50R16 blackwall rubber.InteriorDark Pewter leather covers the front power buckets, with the driver's being power adjustable, the rear 2 plus 2 bench, and steering wheel, as well as gearshift. Overall the leather is soft and supple, showing only wear on the outer bolster from entrance and exit. A swooping center console is flanked by the buckets and makes its way to the dash while including a glove box/armrest, cup holder, gearshift, climate controls, and a Monsoon AM/FM/CD player with equalizer. The normal cluster instruments are clean and bright with their white analog gauges and orange LCD odometer read outs. Nice matching charcoal gray carpet floods the floor.DrivetrainA 350ci LS1 V8, also called the 5.7 liter, is found within the engine bay and is electronically fuel injected. The factory 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission is bolted to the back, and these in combination make use of the 10-bolt rear axle and this in turn allows the tires to spin and make the black marks on the pavement!Undercarriage The undercarriage is showroom with no dirt or scratched paint. Power front and rear disc brakes are on all the corners and keeping things surefooted is independent coil sprung front suspension working in harmony with a torque arm and coil spring suspension in the rear.
