2000 Ford Lightning- I am selling this pristine example of a Ford F150 Lightning for a friend of mine that lives here in San Antonio. Adult owned and driven for the last 24 years it was purchased here in SA and that is where it has lived thus far. It is basically a 1-Owner truck was not smoked in and has been meticulously cared for and maintained. It has NO rust NO leaks and NO lights on dash. Comes with the Supercharged 5.4L engine suede and leather power seats power windows and locks 6-disc CD changer smooth shifting transmission cold A/C and more. Also comes with two factory alloy wheels (brand new in boxes) new fog lights and new front suspension components. No accidents.I was told that an elderly couple bought it new. They lived south of SanAntonio. They were not pleased with it and after a few months theytraded it on a new Lexus. I dont know any more about them.Accessories or Additions:Battery is AGM absorbed gas mat. AGM batteries require a more capablebattery charger. Ordinary battery chargers do not recognize an AGMbattery.Engine Oil Separator by L & S Automotive of Baton Rouge Louisiana.Every Supercharged Lighting must have an oil separator of this type. Itdoes not require any service.Air Filter by K & N.Filter Serviced with cleaning and new protective oil July 2024.This truck has always had a K&N Air Filter since Ive owned it.Engine Oil Always Mobil 1 Full Synthetic since I have owned it.Oil Filter Wix premium.Transmission Oil Full Synthetic. An exchange transfusion was made fiveor more years past. No other service.Differential Limited Slip:Exchange transfusion; Oil change Amsoil Synthetic and new limited slipAdditive.Fuel Filter Changed about 2 Months Past.In-tank Fuel Pump Replaced about 2 Months Past. The Lightning fuel pumpis a dual unit that is two (2) pumps.Air Conditioning Serviced about 2 Months Past First service since new.No history of AC problems.Drive Shaft:Steel Drive Shaft replaced by a Ford Lighting Aluminum Shaft about fiveyears past. We added all new Universal Joint components. Probably 6years past. Drive shaft came from a Northern State. It was purchasedused on ebay. Early Lightning's had steel drive shafts. The final yearshad aluminum drive shafts.Exhaust:Catalytic Converters are original.Mufflers are stainless steel for Ford Lighting and were made by DarrylBassani. Most Bassani truck mufflers are very loud. The model ofmufflers that are on the Lightning make very little noise. Bassani areknown for making high quality products. These mufflers provided asignificant boost in horsepower after replacing the stock Ford mufflers.I guessed that the increase was about 35 horsepower. I called Bassanicustomer service to ask about improved performance. They told me thatthe increase that they had measured was 25 horsepower. I don't have anyobjective measurements but I can say that I am very pleased.I met Darryl Bassani 52 years past. I was with him at two HoustonTexas Astrodome Motorcycle Shows in 1972 and 1973. Daryl was ahigh-tempo personality who spoke with a strong voice and described thequality in his products. The Bassani products that I saw were mostlytwo-stroke expansion chambers with terminal muffler tips. He was verylikable and fun. My Ford Lighting Bassani Mufflers were selected becauseof my experiences with him.Exhaust Tips:The tips are Borla Scarf-Cut and Intercooled Tips. These are among thelargest Borla Scarf-Cut Tips. They are super quality and look great.Ford Lightning SVT HoodThe hood is aluminum sheet metal. Paint does not adhere to aluminum withthe avidity of steel. There are special paint primers for aluminum. OnceI had the truck detailed and they used a high-pressure blast on theunderside of the hood. It blew off some of the loose superficial paint.Always take great care with aluminum body parts. There are no otheraluminum panels to my knowledge.The 1999 and 2000 Lightnings had numerically lower rear axle ratios.This favors fuel economy more than acceleration. Later Lightings hadrear axle ratios that favored acceleration over economy.
