Imola Red suits the E39 M5 perfectly and stands out against a population of Silver and Carbon Black examples. The cosmetic condition of this M5 belies its miles, presenting like a car with half the miles. Notable options include Technical Graphite trim (one of the best trims), a weighted illuminated ZHP shift knob, a Dinan exhaust, Dynamic Sound Processing (DSP), auto-dimming mirrors, and lots of standard E39 M5 kit. It was originally delivered in November of 2000 to the Imported Car Store in Melbourne, Florida. It remained in Florida with the first three owners, receiving regular maintenance at the original dealership and Melbourne BMW. In 2013, at 85,000 miles, the car moved to Virginia and North Carolina with two subsequent owners. We purchased it from the latter in the spring of 2021 and brought it to Colorado for a client. When it landed, we brought its cosmetic condition up to spec by refinishing the front bumper, replacing the front fender liners, refinishing the wheels in the correct Chrome Shadow color, and mounting fresh Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires. Since then, it has passed through our hands twice with two E39 M5 enthusiasts. Recent maintenance includes the spark plugs, front and rear brake pads and rotors, a brake fluid flush, rear wheel speed sensors, rear shocks and mounts, the speedometer sensor, purge valve, and an AC service. We also adjusted the hood latch and added protective film to the front bumper cover and lower hood. As it sits, this is a fantastic example of an E39 M5 and has been one of our favorites. We look forward to finding the owner who will tell the next chapter of this story.
