Full-time four-wheel drive is available on all V6 grades. The four-cylinder engine, standard for Highlander and Highlander Plus, produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb.-ft. of peak torque. The engine is teamed exclusively with a six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. The available V6 (standard on SE and Limited) produces 270 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque. A five-speed, electronically controlled automatic transmission offers selectable manual sequential shifting.
