About 2016 Honda Accord The 2016 Honda Accord features a refined design, a more rigid body and upgraded chassis, and upsized wheels and tires on select models. All 2016 Accords can also now be equipped with Honda Sensing, among the most comprehensive suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies in the competitive class. The Accord Sedan and Coupe are available with the choice of two highly efficient Earth Dreams Technology powertrains, a 2.4-liter direct-injected i-VTEC four-cylinder that produces 185 horsepower (189 horsepower in the Accord Sport Sedan) and a 278-horsepower 3.5-liter VTEC V-6 with Variable Cylinder Management. The four-cylinder engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission or six-speed manual. The Accord Sedan with V-6 is paired with a six-speed automatic while V-6 Coupe models can be equipped with either the automatic or six-speed manual.
