Cruisin Classics is excited to present to you this stunning 2017 BMW i8. This is the first time we've had an i8 in our showroom and we're all blown away by this beautiful car. This i8 has only 17,878 actual miles on the odometer an average of only 2,500 miles a year! It is dressed in it's factory colors of Ionic Silver with BMW iBlue and black accents and it looks simply fantastic. The paint and body are still in excellent condition, save for a small front bumper scuff and a tiny rock chip or two. The body styling is breathtaking with smooth curves and a low roof-line. The body was designed with BMW i-streamflow aerodynamics and has a drag coefficient of only .26, this ride is built with speed, performance and efficiency in mind. BMW strove to make this car as light as possible with a termoplastic front bumper, front fenders, and rear bumper as well as lightweight aluminum doors and hood. The black roof is even made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic to save weight. This particular i8 is outfitted with the top tier "Tera-World" package that includes exterior upgrades like black brake calipers, 20" BMW iLight alloy wheels, and LED headlights with cornering. The alloy wheels are a perfect complement to the cars' styling and they're wrapped in a set of Bridgestone Potenza tires. At the rear of the car you'll find a set of LED BMW U-shaped tail lights that accentuate the flying butress-like rear styling. The glass tailgate lifts up to reveal a small storage space with a compartment cover and leather panels that cover the mid-engine. As if the exterior of the car wasn't already cool enough, BMW took things to another level by adding exceptionally well-designed "butterfly" doors that lift open with ease and create an incredible visual impact. Normally I'd talk about lifting the hood to describe a cars engine at this point, but things are a little different with the i8. The car is powered by both a Twin Power Turbo 3-cylinder gas engine located directly behind the passenger compartment and an eDrive electric motor up front. The gas engine powers the rear wheels and offers 228hp and 236 lb/ft of torque while the electric motor delivers 129hp and 184 lb/ft of torque to the front end. Both can operate separately, but combined they offer 357hp and 420 lb/ft of torque to all 4 wheels resulting in an exhileratingly quick car that can go 0-60 in just 4.2 seconds! Switching between these options is made easy with the Driving Dynamics Control which offers eDrive, Eco Pro, Comfort, and Sport settings. The i8 has a 15 mile range in all-electric mode and a total range of 330 miles with gas. The EPA gives the i8 an MPG rating of 76 in hybrid mode and 28 running on just gasoline. The battery takes 2hrs to charge (240V), but the gas engine serves as a generator and will actually charge the battery while driving and braking. Speaking of brakes, BMW has outfitted this car with 4-wheel cross-drilled, ventilated 13" disc brakes with ABS, Dynamic Brake Control, and Cornering Brake Control. For the i8, having 2 motors means having 2 transmissions with a 2-speed automatic for the electric motor and a 6-speed automatic with paddle-shift option for the gas powered engine. With all of the power, efficiency, and styling that went into the i8, BMW wasn't about to cut corners in terms of ride quality. This car is equipped with electric steering, Hybrid-Specific Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Traction Control, and Dynamic Damper Control. Swing up the drivers door to find that the interior styling rivals that of the futuristic exterior. The 6-way power-adjustable heated front seats are dressed in "Tera-World" Dalbergia Brown leather with iBlue stitching and blue seatbelt straps. The seats are in impeccable condition and they are incredibly comfortable. The rear seats are little more than a base pad and a back pad with virtually no leg room though they do provide a much needed storage area when necessary. The interior is designed with a mixture of Dalbergia Brown, light grey, and black elements accented with flowing lines of iBlue. Many of the blue lines illuminate courtesy of BMW's Ambience Lighting with LED lights package creating an out of this world driving environment. At the drivers fingertips is a 3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function sport steering wheel with a blue accent circle and paddle shifters. Ahead of the steering wheel is an instrument cluster screen with an attractive layout, though you may find it easier to make use of the full-color head-up display on the windshield while driving. The wide center console offers some stogage, a cupholder, the shifter, Driving Dynamics Controls, and controls for the iDrive infotainment screen at the center of the dash. This screen offers an on-board computer, back-up camera, USB and Bluetooth, controls for the Harmon Kardon Premium Sound Audio System with HD Radio, and the BMW Nasvigation Professional System with voice command and real-time traffic information. Other interior amenities include cruise control, rain-sensing windshield wipers with adjustable speed, automatic headlight control, auto-dimming rear-view and drivers mirrors, automatic dual-zone climate control system, universal garage door opener, park distance control, and an anti-theft alarm system. In the glovebox are the owners manual and supplemental booklets that originally came with the car. This i8 also has driver and passenger safety in mind and offers front, side, and knee airbags to make sure everyone walks away from an accident. Back in the rear storage compartment you'll find an electric charger unit, the original window sticker, and some service receipts from the most recent owner.
