Smoked headlights create a slightly sinister look and enormous tow hooks poke their shiny curves out next to the fog lights. 20-inch chrome wheels carry 35x12.5R20LT tires and several inches are added to the height on top of these big wheels and thankfully, a running board assists in the entry and exit. The tires carry a late 2020 date code, so that's an expense you won't have to incur for a time. A panoramic sunroof is behind a row of roof lights, required for trucks more than 80 inches wide. A keyless entry pad lines the door, a sliding window is on the back, and wide towing mirrors extend the width of the truck. Imperfections include some scratches, dings, and heat damage on the bed cover and a repaired gouge on the cladding. InteriorChunky molded plastic door panels include big hand pulls, big storage bins, ample armrest real estate, and a faux wood panel for a touch of class. All the door panels are in great shape and serve as the entry way into the big cab, with the help of A-pillar handles. Inside, perforated black leather bucket seats split between a massive center console. Are you seeing a theme here? The back seats are accessed with their own full sized doors, and the bench has seating for three. At least, that's how many seat belts are equipped in the back where you could probably fit an entire kindergarten class, and they'll have access to their own vents and cup holders. The seats show minimal wear and the low pile black carpet and mats that cover the floor also look great. The molded plastic dash surrounds a pair of gauge and center info screen displaying pertinent information while a large screen in the center stack monitors the AM/FM radio with XM, Sync, and Bluetooth capabilities and the screen also controls navigation and a number of other functionalities. Illuminated USB ports are on the center console along with cupholders, storage bins, and the large center armrest that serves as the lid to a large storage unit. There are a lot of controls on the overhead console as well, which sits in front of the big sunroof. Please note that while the air conditioning was working at the time of our drive report, we cannot guarantee this system will continue proper operation in the future. DrivetrainThe F250 is equipped with a 6.7 liter Powerstroke Diesel with 440 horses and 925 pound feet of torque. Driving it all is the 6R140 TorqShift Automatic 6-speed transmission. There's a Dana M275 in the rear differential and a Dana 60 up front. Naturally, power disc brakes are on all four wheels. UndercarriageThe big frame rails are clean while other parts of the underside indicate use but not wear. It's generally clean and dry underneath and we don't need a lift to point that out! Radius arm and coil springs are up front while leaf springs are in back and the truck has a Ready Lift Kit installed. The single exhaust flows through an original equipment muffler then exits via a splitter tip behind the right rear wheel. Drive-AbilityFellow 4x4 owner here so I'm no stranger to height and this thing is way up there! The powerful diesel moves along with power underfoot. The cab is surprisingly quiet and even the noise from knobby tires on asphalt doesn't penetrate the control center. Surefooted and comfortable, this big F250 instills confidence. As a relatively new vehicle, all functions worked as expected. Go ahead, make all the jokes you want about overcompensating. They hate us, cause they ain't us, am I right, fellas?
