Taking the M2 concept to the extreme, the N2 CS was introduced online in November 2019 and then at the LA Auto Show. Production commenced in March 2020 with just 2,200 examples planned for North America, Europe, Asia and Mexico. Improving on the engine powering the M2 Competition, the M2 CS utilized the engine management system from the M4 Competition, raising output of the S55 engine to 444 horsepower.Performance credentials for the M2 CS includes 0-62 mph acceleration in just over 4.0 seconds. Braking is supplied by the M2 Competition system, including M Performance rotors and calipers. Standard adaptive M suspension, including forged aluminum wheel hubs and control arms, raises handling and roadholding to new heights and includes an electronic locking differential. Added lightness achieved with a carbon-fiber transmission tunnel, hood, roof and various aerodynamic aids, plus a carbon fiber center console. Alcanatara interior trim and embroidered 'CS' badges and insignias enhance the unbridled competition-inspired look and feel of this modern BMW high-performance legend.
