The Ford Ranger T6 has a couple of issues worth mentioning, but they are no more problematic than in most other Ford vehicles. The turbocharger is a common area of concern, but the failure rate is not particularly high to cause worry for potential buyers. Common issues experienced with this vehicle are minor and can be found in many other cars and trucks. Regarding turbocharger problems, an oil leak around the edges is usually the first sign. Some drivers tend to overlook this until it becomes serious, but it is not recommended. It is advisable to address these issues early on to avoid costly repairs later. Replacing a turbocharger can be an expensive repair, so it is best to prevent such a situation if possible.

A 2012 American-made truck with a 6-speed automatic transmission, 4-wheel drive, and a diesel engine. Since I bought it, I've dealt with transmission problems like rough gear changes, and ended up having to replace the valve body out of my own pocket. Within three years of purchasing the vehicle, I've experienced issues such as a failing InterCooler hose, problems with the central locking system on the dashboard, a dark Instrument Cluster Panel in some areas making it hard to see service/alert icons clearly, door locks that don't work properly, and faded paint on the hood and cab.
