The Ford Transit MK8, manufactured from 2014 to 2018, has garnered multiple negative reviews online. Among the reported issues are concerns with its braking system, such as experiencing pulling to the sides despite alignment. Additionally, customers have noted that certain body parts rust at a faster rate than anticipated. Despite these drawbacks, the overall performance and dependability of the MK8 is deemed average, considering the raised concerns. Addressing these issues may call for repairs, with an estimated annual maintenance cost of around $900, which falls within the typical range for vehicle upkeep. This suggests that maintaining the MK8 is not substantially more costly compared to many other car models.

I recently drove a brand new 2020-plate van, and I noticed that it accelerates well in lower gears, as expected. However, its performance on the highway was disappointing. While cruising at 70mph in 5th gear on a flat road, switching to 6th gear caused a significant slowdown to around 55mph. Even with my foot pressed down on the accelerator, I was only able to make minimal progress. When I encountered a hill, the van struggled to maintain speed in 5th gear, forcing me to downshift to 3rd gear to pick up pace. Even when going downhill at 60mph in 5th or 6th gears, the van failed to gain speed, leading me to suspect that this supposedly brand new van has critical issues.
