One of the most common issues with the power windows in the 2001 Ford F-150 relates to a faulty door switch, a failed motor, or problems with the regulator. Among these, replacing the window switch is the simplest task. To do so, you'll need to lift up the front of the door panel armrest and slide it forward. Then, on the underside of the armrest, release the tab and disconnect the electrical connector for the switch. Using a pick tool or plastic pry bar, carefully remove the switch from the trim by working around its backside. If the motor has failed or there are regulator issues, the door panel will have to be removed, which is secured by three screws and several panel clips. Two screws are located on the bottom edge of the door panel, while the third screw hides behind the door latch trim.
