As an American, I can rephrase and provide a unique perspective on the text for you: Currently, there is no active recall for the cam phaser on the 2005 Ford F-150. While there have been instances of phaser failure in the engine, it has not reached a level where Ford deems a widespread recall necessary. Typically, car manufacturers initiate recalls when a certain number of parts exceed an internal failure threshold or when safety-related components like seatbelts or airbags are affected. Although there is no official recall for the cam phaser at this time, Ford dealerships are addressing individual cases by replacing them at no cost.

Haha, there's a state of emergency with these cam phasers - a complete engineering nightmare. I'm sure there are recalls for this issue.

I own a 2005 F-150 Lariat Crew Cab with a 5.4L engine. Does anyone know which Ford dealerships are providing free replacements for the cam phasers? In my opinion, this issue should be a recall because everyone I know who owns a vehicle with this year and engine size has had to pay for a lockout or cam phaser replacement. I had to pay $3300 for the replacement in my 2008 Lincoln Mark LT, which I believe is unfair. The kit for replacement only costs $142, and the manual says it's a 12-hour job. Therefore, I believe Ford should take responsibility and issue a recall for all affected customers. My family only buys Ford vehicles, but if they don't stand behind their products, we may have to consider switching back to Chevy. If a manager from a Ford dealership reads this and is willing to replace my cam phasers free of charge, we would greatly appreciate it and give you our future business. We typically purchase 2-3 new vehicles a year totaling $180,000, which may not seem significant but it truly is. Thank you, John Salazar.
