The speed sensor on a 2003 Toyota Sienna is positioned at the transmission output shaft to track how fast this shaft is rotating. This data is transmitted to the car's ECU, which calculates and displays your speed on the dashboard to keep you informed of your speed. If you notice that your speedometer is not showing any readings, it's advisable to inspect this sensor initially. Loose wires or damage to the sensor may cause inaccurate speed display. Additionally, a check engine light may illuminate on the dashboard when the sensor loses communication with the vehicle.
