The CTS4 is a popular range from Cadillac, but have you ever thought about what the letters stand for? In simple terms, it represents "Catera Touring Sedan," with the "4" indicating that it has four-wheel drive. It is an evolution of the 2003-2007 Cadillac CTS, which had the same meaning without the "4." Interestingly, the CTS was introduced as a successor to the Cadillac Catera, a midsize sedan manufactured from 1997 to 2001, named for being an improved version. As a fun side note, the ATS is also known as the "Alpha Touring Sedan," similar to the CTS and considered its sibling model.
CTS 4 represents a catera touring sedan equipped with all-wheel drive.
