I'm stumped too, as I had a similar issue. When the Check Emission Light lit up on my 2008 Acura RDX, I took it to my reliable mechanic who had replaced the turbo under warranty the previous year. They found and fixed a problem related to the turbo, and my car was running like a dream - smooth driving and all. However, soon after the Check Emission Light and Check SH-AWD System lights came on. The mechanic thoroughly inspected everything, also completing some unrelated minor repairs. The lights disappeared, and I happily drove off, feeling the power in my car and seeing no warning lights. All seemed fine until after about 5 miles, when both lights returned. Now, I'm pondering whether it's safe to drive since everything appeared sorted at the mechanic's. Could this possibly just be a glitch in the warning system?

I've also experienced moments when the car doesn't seem to accelerate properly, making me nervous when merging onto highways. Seems like my 2007 RDX has been having the same problem on and off for the past couple of years. Every time I bring it to the dealership, they claim it's a sensor causing the issue. I've owned the car for more than 10 years and put 96,000 miles on it. But this current problem is something new.

I took my 2016 RDX to the nearby Acura dealer to address the emissions light issue. They claimed it was resolved after finding that a rodent had damaged something. However, after paying $750.00 for the repair, the light came back on the very next day. When I returned, they said fixing the problem again would cost another $750.00 because it happened overnight. I am picking up my car today and seeking a second opinion. There seems to be something off, and I refuse to believe it's my car at fault.

I encountered a similar issue. I tried disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery, and the warning light disappeared. It hasn't reappeared ever since!

I drive a 2018 Acura RDX, and suddenly the Check Emissions light came on, even though I don't drive it much and it only has 39,000 miles. It's due for its B1 service (oil change) soon, so I hope they can fix the issue then. I've noticed that I don't see many older model RDXs around, which makes me think this could be a problem with the design of the vehicle. The newer models seem more prevalent.

I went to the gas station and forgot to bring the cover for the gas can. Even though I bought a new cover since the emissions light came on, the issue still persists.

I had the issue inspected, and was informed that the fault lies in the flow mechanics being obstructed. After having it cleared and working fine for a week, the warning light reappeared. Looks like I'll need to take it in for further testing.

Regarding Lisa Watson's statement, I concur. My car is still running smoothly, but I've observed that my RDX doesn't accelerate quickly at the start... I can definitely sense a change. I had it inspected recently and the mechanic assured me that everything was in good condition, even after I inquired about my muffler, which they claimed was also fine. I'm unsure. It seems like I'll have to schedule an appointment to have it inspected further during my next service visit.
