In 2010, the Kia Sportage was originally equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine in the base models. You had the choice to upgrade the engine or it would come standard with the more powerful 2.7L V6 engine in the top-tier trim level. If you have the base engine in your vehicle, you should use either 5W-20 or 5W-30 synthetic motor oil, with 5W-20 being the preferred type. The oil capacity will be 3.8 US quarts including the filter. For the upgraded V6 engine, only 5W-20 synthetic oil should be used, with a capacity of 4.8 US quarts when including the filter.

The 2010 Kia Sportage 2.7L engine takes 4.8 quarts (4.5 liters) of oil, while the 2.0L engine requires 4.2 quarts (4.0 liters). For optimal performance, Kia suggests using either 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil.
