An American car typically needs a new hybrid battery after being used for about 8-10 years or driving 120,000-150,000 miles. Replacing the battery in a Ford Fusion can vary in cost depending on whether you opt for a new one or a refurbished pack. New batteries for the Ford Fusion range from $3,000 to $5,000, not including installation. Meanwhile, a rebuilt pack with new cells, which can last up to 10 years, is priced under $3,000 by most independent repair shops. However, these aftermarket parts usually come with only a 36-month warranty. It's important to note that if your car is still under the manufacturer's warranty, Ford will replace the battery at no cost for up to 100,000 miles or 8 years.

To replace the hybrid battery in a Ford Fusion, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $6,000 just for the battery itself, not including the cost of labor for installation.

Ford will only provide a replacement for your battery if it is completely drained. The hybrid battery in our 2014 vehicle has only been able to last half of the 20 miles promised since 2016, which is very disappointing. This experience has made us decide that we will not purchase another Ford in the future.

I am currently at a car dealership service center in Austin, Texas on March 10, 2023. The cost to replace the battery is $220.
