In the 2011 Lincoln MKX, the sunroof may get rusty or stuck, preventing it from opening or closing. If the motor wire is faulty, it is more likely that the fuse has blown. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack on the left side of the dashboard near the steering wheel. Use a screwdriver or prybar to carefully open the panel. Inside, you will find several fuses. Check the back of the panel for a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not there, refer to the owner's manual for the vehicle. Once you identify the fuse you need to replace, simply remove it. Check if the thin strip of metal connecting the two sections of the fuse is intact. If it's broken, the fuse is no longer functional and needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still good and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are affordable, usually costing around 10 dollars.
