The Ford Explorer comes with a rear hatch door that includes a window. If you want to open the window without opening the entire door, first ensure all the doors are unlocked using the remote. Then, locate the handle on the hatch to the right of the center of the panel. Turn the handle in the opposite direction used for opening the hatch, which will reveal a rubber button. Press down on the button to release the rear window separately from the door. Additionally, some owners may find a "blue" button on their key fob that performs the same function. For specific instructions tailored to your vehicle's year, make, and model, always refer to the owner's manual.

I purchased a pre-owned 2016 Ford Explorer Limited in January 2022. As of July 2022, I have yet to discover how to open the rear window separately from the hatch. Perhaps it simply cannot be done!
