In order to unlock the rear headrests on the Chevy Equinox, raise the assembly to its highest position. Look for two plastic covers near the metal poles at the base of the headrest. These covers have small entry points on their inner edges, similar to pinholes. These openings are located at both ends of the metal poles attached to the headrest. Insert the tip of a bent paper clip or another small tool into the hole and push to release the metal pole. Repeat this process on the other side of the seat, then lift the headrest upwards to take it out entirely.
The rear headrest does not adjust vertically, and there are no buttons to press.
There are no buttons present.
To take out the back headrest in a Chevy Equinox, simply press the buttons located on each side of the headrest.
Doesn't have a back one.
The reviewer mentioned tiny holes like a pin. I recently did this for my son's chair. It was a hassle, but it did the trick.
My 2009 Equinox headrests are completely stuck and I need to get them off to install my grandbabies' car seat. I've exhausted all efforts to lift them up!
There are small holes on the sides of the small circular plastic covers located at the bottom of the headrests. You can either push those covers up and press the metal in to make them pop up. You will need to do this on both sides, and I did it separately for each side and was able to lift them up.
