The 2005 Nissan Murano, along with many newer cars, has a built-in system that monitors the mileage between oil changes. This system notifies you when it's time to change the oil because the current oil may no longer protect the engine correctly. After changing the oil, you must reset the notification light to restart the tracking process. To reset, turn the ignition to the On position without starting the engine. Locate and press the Maint button below and to the right of the in-dash screen. Next, choose Engine Oil and press Enter. Then select Reset and press Enter again to complete the process.
