It appears that the suspension issues with the Honda HR-V are similar to those found in most vehicles, but they tend to occur a little earlier. The shocks are prone to failing, sometimes before reaching 20,000 miles. Luckily, this should be covered by the warranty, and the new shocks are more durable. The struts might also fail, or the bolts could loosen slightly. To fix loose bolts, you just need to tighten them to the recommended torque; no need for replacements. In general, all vehicles experience regular suspension problems and need occasional replacements, but the HR-V doesn't seem to have any exceptionally severe issues.
