The hybrid battery is covered by a warranty up to a mileage of 150,000 miles. If it malfunctions before reaching that milestone, Toyota will replace it at no charge. Should you need to purchase a replacement on your own, it typically costs around $110 to $140 at most stores. When installing a new battery, start by disconnecting the negative and positive cables to access the bolts securing the battery. Once removed, lift the old battery out carefully due to its weight. Place the new battery in position, secure it with bolts, reconnect the cables, and you're all set.

The warranty for your vehicle is either 96 months (8 years) or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first, unless your car has the California Certified Emission Control System. In that case, in specific states, your warranty extends to 10 years or 150,000 miles.
