If you see the auto high beam problem light on in your Honda CR-V, it means there's an issue with the high beam detection system. This system automatically switches on your high beams in clear conditions and switches them off when it detects another vehicle in front or approaching. The system relies on a front camera to detect other vehicles, which may malfunction if dirty or due to a software issue. To reset the software, grab the high beam stalk on the dashboard, pull it towards you, and hold it for 40 seconds until the light goes off.
In a Honda CR-V, the issue with the automatic high beams is typically due to the headlight lever not being properly activated. To resolve this, you should pull the lever towards you and hold it in that position for 40 seconds to reengage the auto high beams feature.
No problem. That was faster than contacting the dealer. Even after I held the high beam lever back for 40 seconds and it didn't work initially, I tried it again and restarted the car, which resolved the issue.
While driving at a speed of over 25 mph during the night, I repeatedly toggled between pulling back on my high beam lever for 5 seconds and pushing it forward for 5 seconds. After doing this a few times, on the third try, while still driving at a speed of over 25 mph, the system eventually turned back on.
My Honda CR-V is still not fixed despite trying everything; I'm at a loss for what to do next.
I've attempted to adjust my high beams to turn on when necessary, but they refuse to work. Can you tell me why?
