As per the manual for a 2013 Ford Focus, it's recommended to have the transmission fluid level checked by an authorized dealer or certified technician each time the oil is changed. Since this model lacks a transmission fluid dipstick, the level should be monitored through the fill hole. The car needs to be parked on a flat surface and the front driver side tire must be taken off. The fill hole plug can be found just above the driver side CV axle shaft, slightly behind the subframe when viewed from the wheel well. An effective way to remove it is by using an 8-millimeter Allen key on a swivel extension. The fluid level should be even with the bottom of the threads on the fill hole.
