The 2015 GMC Yukon can hold 2.25 pounds of R134a refrigerant in its air conditioning system. If there is a significant refrigerant leak and it needs to be replaced, the manufacturer advises also re-lubricating the compressor with 3 ounces of polyalkaline glycol (PAG). Indications that the Yukon may have low refrigerant levels include warm air coming from the AC in the cabin, compressor or cooling line leaks, and the AC clutch failing to work. Freon flows through the HVAC system via low and high-pressure ports. It changes from a gas to a liquid to provide cooling inside the vehicle. As compressors age or develop leaks, there may be a gradual loss of Freon over time. The approximate cost of recharging the AC in the Yukon is around $100-$200 for both materials and labor.
