In order to change the transmission fluid of the 2016 Nissan Altima, you will need 4 quarts of transmission fluid. Begin by ensuring the car is parked on a level surface and then opening the hood. Locate the transmission fluid reservoir near the transmission and then find the dipstick. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to check the fluid level. Take note of the amount of fluid in the reservoir, and how much more you need to add to reach the required level. Use a funnel to carefully add the necessary amount of fluid into the reservoir, filling it almost to the top but not overflowing. It's okay if you are slightly below the full mark, but avoid overfilling. Once you have filled the reservoir, securely close it up, and you're all set to go.

My Ultima from 2016 does not come with a dipstick; instead, it only has a fill tube.

The pan can accommodate 4 quarts, but to fully flush the transmission you'll need 8 quarts. It's recommended to take your Altima to a professional mechanic for this task as places like Jiffy Lube usually only service the pan.
