The Ford F-150 holds 2.7 gallons of coolant. Engine issues may arise such as excessive oil consumption, which may lead to the need for more frequent oil changes. One major concern is engine overheating, which can result in fires and potential explosions. Loose gaskets should be promptly tightened, and a loose spark plug can cause engine malfunctions. Address oil leaks promptly. Coolant should be replaced every 60,000 miles, spark plugs every 100,000 miles unless it's a copper type, in which case they should be replaced every 30,000 miles. Air filters should be replaced every 15,000 to 30,000 miles.

The specifications from Ford for the 2015 F150 with the 2.7 engine show a coolant capacity of 16.4 quarts, which is equivalent to 4.1 gallons. Based on service bulletins I've come across, it seems like you can only change approximately half of that without removing the engine. Therefore, I'm intending to drain the radiator and around 2 gallons of coolant.

The amount needed will vary depending on the specific truck you own. In the case of my truck, a 2013 model with a 5.0 engine, it requires 12 quarts.
