The 2018 Kia Forte and Forte5 models, including the S, LX, EX, SX trims, all require a group size H5 battery. The price of the battery can vary widely based on the cold cranking amps (CCA) you select, ranging from approximately $100 to close to $300. While it may be tempting to save money, it is advisable to opt for a battery with at least 650 CCA, especially if you reside in a colder area. This choice will enhance reliability and assist with starting in cold weather conditions. Although it may push the cost closer to $200 or higher, you are likely to appreciate this decision in the long run.
The Kia Forte of 2018 requires a group 48 battery for operation.
My car starts without any issues when the temperature is above freezing. However, once it drops to freezing or below, it now requires multiple attempts before starting up. The Kia I purchased in 2018 worked perfectly for the initial 4 years. Yet, since installing a new battery, it has been experiencing this winter starting problem.
