In the 2014 VW Passat tdi, you'll want to use either G13 or G12 coolant, which should be replaced around every 60,000 miles. Keep in mind to change your air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles and replace spark plugs every 100,000 miles unless they're copper, in which case they should be changed every 30,000 miles. Engine troubles can arise, such as loose gaskets needing tightening, spark plug issues, oil leaks that should be promptly fixed, and the critical issue of engine overheating, potentially leading to fires or even an explosion. Watch out for excessive oil consumption, necessitating more frequent oil changes.
James B, thank you for your response. Can I clarify something with you? You mentioned it's for a TDI, but don't diesel engines not require spark plugs?
Your 2014 VW Passat TDI uses a hybrid organic acid technology coolant. This violet extended life coolant is specifically designed for European vehicles and should be diluted 50/50 with water in the reservoir.
They actually use glow plugs instead of spark plugs. It's funny that he made that mistake.
