The date code of the Toyota TrueStart battery can be found on a decal attached to the battery, indicating when it is due for replacement. Purchasing a replacement battery of this variety typically costs between $110 and $140 at most retail stores. To install the new battery, start by disconnecting the negative and positive cables of the old battery. Once the cables are removed, you can access the bolts securing the battery in place. After removing the bolts, carefully lift the old battery out of its compartment. Remember that the battery is heavy, so be sure to lift it straight up and clear of its location. Place the new battery into the compartment, secure it with bolts, reconnect the battery cables, and your installation is complete.

Is the date located above the battery? I own the True Star84 vehicle but can't locate the date to check if it is still under warranty. I bought the car in April 2022.

Toyota used to mark the date of sale on the battery top decal for warranty tracking. Now, they rely on your purchase receipt or the stamped code on the battery top, where the first letter indicates the month (A for January, M for December) followed by a one or two-digit year (e.g., 5 for 2005 or 2015). Generally, a battery that is over ten years old is unlikely to be functional.

Stickers covering the entire battery - does that answer your question?

My battery is completely drained, and when I tried to check how old it was to determine if it could easily be jump-started, the top was so dirty that it obscured the barcode number. The only other number I could find on top appeared to be the manufacturer's part number. I couldn't find a date anywhere on the battery, despite checking all sides and the top. The only side I couldn't see was obstructed by other car parts. Given how filthy it is and the absence of a visible manufacture date, it's likely too old and dead to jump-start, unless someone has additional knowledge that I'm unaware of.
