In a BMW, if you see the 29CC fault code, it indicates that there have been misfires occurring in more than one cylinder. These misfires could be caused by various faults such as a defective spark plug, ignition coil, wiring issues between the power control module and ignition coil, or a problem with the coil driver in the PCM. Common symptoms to watch for include rough idling, hesitations during acceleration, extended startup times, higher fuel consumption, and the vehicle stalling when stationary. It is recommended to check the spark plugs and wiring for any visible damage like breaks or cracks. If the fault code persists even after replacing spark plugs, coil packs, and/or spark plug wiring, the problem may lie within the fuel injection system.
