In a 2006 Toyota Corolla, there are two O2 sensors. To determine which one you should replace, it's likely the sensor under the car in the exhaust pipe if you're receiving a related code, rather than the one visible in the engine compartment. To reach the sensor, you'll need to move back the carpet on the left side of the passenger floor. It's worth noting that the 2006 Corollas often faced problems with the Engine Control Units (ECUs), which could mistakenly trigger codes like Fuel Too Lean and other O2 sensor alerts. If changing the sensor doesn't fix your issue, it could be a fault in the ECU to consider for troubleshooting.

The first sensor is closest to the engine, while the last one is situated towards the rear of the exhaust system. In terms of oxygen sensors, sensor 1 is positioned before the catalytic converter at the front (also known as the upstream o2 sensor), and sensor 2 is located after the catalytic converter towards the rear (also referred to as the downstream o2 sensor).
