The coolant temperature sensor for a 2006 Ford Escape 2.3 is situated on the rear of the engine, opposite the passenger side of the vehicle. It's important to change the coolant every 60,000 miles and the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. Typically, spark plugs should be replaced every 100,000 miles, but if they are copper, the interval is every 30,000 miles. Engine issues can arise, such as loose gaskets needing tightening, spark plugs popping off, oil leaks needing immediate attention, excessive oil consumption necessitating early oil changes, and the critical problem of engine overheating, which can lead to fires and explosions in the car.

In the 2006 Ford Escape 2.3, the cylinder head temperature sensor has been added, taking the place of the previous coolant temperature sensor found in older versions. You can locate this sensor at the rear of the engine, on the side opposite the passenger seat. It works together with the air intake temperature sensor and is positioned on the back of the right cylinder head.
