In the 2009 Chevy Malibu, you can mount the factory amp in the rear of the trunk on the passenger side. You'll need to take out the carpet paneling to access it and then remove the 3 bolts holding the amp in place – a 10mm bolt and two 9mm bolts. After that, you'll have to disconnect the amp from its wiring harness, which includes 4 bolts. The Malibu comes with two 6-3/4 inch front door speakers, two 6 by 9 inch rear door speakers, and tweeters in the front pillars. The LS and LT2 models of the Malibu are equipped with a total of 6 speakers, AM/FM stereo, satellite radio, and AUX inputs. For an enhanced audio experience, the upgraded LTZ version offers 8 amplifiers and 2 subwoofers.
