The pressure sensor for the fuel tank in a 2013 Ford F-150 is located on the fuel pump assembly at the top of the tank. Its primary function is to monitor the pressure inside the gas tank to prevent it from becoming excessively high. Should the pressure exceed safe limits, the sensor triggers the EVAP vent to open and release some pressure. A warning sign that the pressure is too high is the illumination of the check engine light on the dashboard, indicating that something is amiss. If this sensor malfunctions, the entire fuel sending unit assembly will need to be replaced.
