The 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer may or may not come with a mass airflow sensor; the 4.2L engine version does not have it. However, if you have the 5.3L engine, you'll locate the sensor right outside the air box on the flexible hose. It should be easy to spot if you know what to look for. I suggest searching for an image of the part as a good starting point. If you need to replace it, you can breathe easy knowing it's a relatively inexpensive component. You can find replacements at most major auto parts stores for around $40 to $75, depending on the quality brand. With a straightforward replacement process, this makes for an ideal DIY project.

The mass airflow sensor is situated close to the throttle body on the 2005 Chevy Trailblazer.

Newer Trailblazers come equipped with a MAF sensor positioned on the air tube behind the filter housing.

In my 2005 Trailblazer, there's a tiny connector between the Vortec and the air filter that I can't remove. I'm not sure if that's the MAS sensor, but when I try to find a replacement at AutoZone, they show me a huge sensor that's not right for the car, even though they insist it's the correct one.
