The evacuation canister is not located at the back of the muffler on my 2013 F150 ecoboost. To find it, you should lay down on the ground on the driver's side, right between the two doors. It's connected to the frame there. The solenoid valve is positioned at the front bumper's end.

Here's a paraphrased and more unique version: You can find it near the top of the front of the engine, right in the center. Just pop open the hood, stand in the middle facing the front of the vehicle, gaze down at about a 100-degree angle, and you'll spot it. It's the lone visible object with a distinct green and black quick disconnect attached to it.

I'm also dealing with the EVAP purge valve issue on my 2013 F-150 3.5L eco. I believed the purge valve was on the driver's side of the engine, so I bought the replacement part. However, there is a lot of conflicting advice on how to fix this problem. I got the P144C code indicating the EVAP purge valve is stuck open. I plan to replace the part on the engine today and hope that resolves the issue.
