The 2010 Toyota Tundra V8 engine requires 7.9 quarts of SAE 5W-20 oil, and it is advised by Toyota to opt for synthetic oil when it's time for a change. There are two main types of oil: synthetic and conventional. Synthetic oil is specially designed to offer superior engine protection compared to conventional oil derived from petroleum. Another advantage of synthetic oil is that it can be changed at 7,500-mile intervals, whereas conventional oil typically needs changing every 3,500 to 5,000 miles. I suggest checking your oil levels monthly and inspecting it for any debris or signs of burning.

I've found the solution here, but I need to share an issue with my 2010 Tundra 5.7. I used to lose a significant amount of oil between oil changes, more than a quart or two. After investigating, I couldn't find any leaks and compression was fine. I suspected it was burning oil without any visible signs. I switched to using 10W-40 weight oil, and now my truck runs smoothly without any oil loss. It also starts up quieter. It has over 160,000 miles on it and I often drive it across the state. While it's mostly used for grocery runs, the grocery store is about 50 miles away each way.

For the 2010 Toyota Tundra 4.0L, the suggested oil is 5W-30 with an oil capacity of 4.8 quarts (4.5 Liters). The 4.6L engine should use 0W-20 oil with a capacity of 7.9 quarts (7.5 Liters). As for the 5.7L engine, either 5W-20 or 0W-20 oil is recommended, with a capacity of 7.9 quarts (7.5 Liters).
