The 2018 Nissan Pathfinder is designed to use Genuine Nissan Motor Oil 0W-20 SN as its recommended oil. You can also use an equivalent oil that meets API or ILSAC certification and SAE viscosity standards. During an oil change with a filter, the Pathfinder typically requires about 5-1/8 quarts of oil. It's recommended to change the oil every 5000 miles or every 6 months, whichever occurs first. To check the oil level, park on a flat surface, ensure the engine is warm but turned off, and allow the oil to settle for a few minutes. Make sure to wipe the dipstick clean, reinsert it fully, then pull it out again to confirm the oil level is between the low and full marks. Check the oil level regularly, ideally each time you refuel.
The 2018 Nissan Pathfinder uses a full synthetic oil of SAE 0W-20. The SUV's 3.5-liter V6 engine requires 5.1 quarts of oil.
